tennis bag vanity

I know this is me being very vain and almost chick like, but I'm starting to have issues with my tennis bag. Its an awesome prince bag, holds 6 of my racquets, shoes, balls, and everything just dandy. I've been a prince guy for the past 9 years, but I feel in love with the APD non cortex and thats whats filling my bag now. Now I kind of feel weird dragging out my prince bag and pulling out babolats raquets. Anyone else have this issue, and anyone recommend a nice study babolat or maybe adida's bag?

I usually carry 6 racquets with me, my barricades, a ton of balls, and everything else you can think of. Thanks!

I'm sure there was a thread recently about whether players switch bags with every racquet switch or not and then answer was about 65% yes or similar.

I'm positive that whether or not you feel the need to switch to have bag and racquets match is heavily correllated with age.

If your looking for a sturdy Babolat bag, go with the Aero Pro bags. The 12 pack is awesome and you will not be disappointed.
I'm sure the 6pack is just as good.

Even though my racket and bag match, it is only because I need to purchase a bag. My old bag was a Wilson backpack and I needed more space so I opted to buy a sturdy Babolat Bag as with my rackets.

I have the exact same issue haha. I used to play with prince O3 tours and I have a green prince bag. I got an APD without cortex for my birthday and fell in love with it, now I have 3 babolats and two princes that I dont use and a prince bag.
I suggest getting the Babolat Aero 12 pack or the Team line 12 pack that Roddick uses. Both have Thermoguard but the Aero one has a watter bottle pocket thats insulated!!:shock:I would go with that one if you like APDs as much as I do.

It doesn't really matter. Unless you play better by having a matching bag. I have Wilson rackets but with a Babolat 12 Aero bag. Nothing wrong with it. I mean people might think I'm dumb doing so, but they'll be blown away when I kill them 6-0 6-0

The OEM, that makes thr rackets you prefer, very seldom also makes the best bag of your preference.

So I say, buy the best bag and the best set of rackets - and don't give a hoot about if they match.
If you buy them just to match, you won't get the best of the best - you will either get a poor racket or a poor or mediocre quality tennis bag.

Do you also match your socks and shoes, so they are from the same OEM
Do you also match your inner shirt with your outer shirt, so they are from the same OEM

True and overall I think in my opinion the Aero 12 pack from Babolat is alot better than the wilson bags with the excpetion of the kpro tour red bag super six. But its 75 bucks which is way to much.

Hmm good opinions, I think I'm just being vain. Really like my current bag, and who knows, maybe prince will get their heads out of their @$$ and make some decent racquets.

I've the same issue.
I would rather have a cheap TW racquet bag than a bag of a different brand known for a different brand of racquets.
I just have this expectation that if I have a Head bag I will surely pull out a bunch of Head racquets.

I don't think it matters. But I guess where you are at might come into it..

Here in Japan, they use tennis as an opportunity to look good. No matter the sport, and definately no matter playing level. The Japanese have the best of everything and I kinda like it in all honesty..

I have found that I have needed to dress "up" when I joined my club, and so actually like the fact that I can wear what ever I want and not get called a poser..

Growing up in Brisbane Australia was a different matter though.

If you want a good bag, I currently use the BabolaT Team Series 9 pack, and love it.. I use the thermo side to carry 4 frames, and the other side to put all my clothes shoes towels, and then the small pocket for keys phone wallet ect..

I kinda felt although probably great bags, the Aero bags were a bit wanky, and so decided on the bag that us little guys use..

Were I to switch racquets, I'd want at least two of them, if not three. For that amount of investment, yeah, I'd pitch in the $45 for the bag to go with them, but that's just me. I like those kind of things while at the same time I agree totally that it is unnecessary. Same goes for clothing - just wear what you like. Some like to put time, money and effort into it so as to be a bit more stylish. Some dont. Clothing shouldnt necessarily say anything more than that.

I would prefer to have the bag the same brand as my sticks but if the price for that 3 pack is $50 and I can get a triple non-brand for $20, I'm all about that $30 difference.

Does anyone have any recommendations for bags made by a company that isn't a popular tennis racquet producer? Such as a non-babolat/head/dunlop/prince/etc. bag, but something more towards addidas, nike, etc. As far as the size goes, a 6-9 pack should be good. Thanks for any suggestions.

There's nothing funnier than the sight of an impressionable teenager at a club tournament, groaning under the weight of their 6 or 12 pack racquet bags. Especially when they're bedecked in top to toe logo gear, all the way to their too-heavy Barricades.
Mea culpa...I was guilty of this 20 odd years ago...only difference being all the gear and apparel in those days was far less garish than the vomitous cosmetics applied on all tennis gear these days.

Me and tennis bag vanity ? Yes, only if Dunlop brought back the understated authentic looks of the all-black Mcenroe signature Duffel with the red, yellow and orange accents. Remember that one ?
