The Summer Season league in the tennisftlauderdale.com affiliate of the Tennis League Network (TLN) will begin on June 26 (and will run to August 25). It will start with players rated anywhere from 2.5 to 4.25, but might be split into two divisions if enough players sign up.

I fininshed the preceding Spring Season league with a 3-21 record. Not good enough to make the playoffs (4 wins were necessary), but had a lot of fun, met some really nice people and good tennis players, and kept my 3.0 TLN rating (which is based on NTRP guidelines, and roughly approximate to USTA NTRP ratings).

It's a flex league, which I really like, made up of people from all over Broward County and as far north as Boca Raton. There are a couple of TTW posters, along with me, who are already signed up for the Summer Season. Hope to see more of you in this Summer Season league.

By the way, Tennis League Network is associated with Tennis Warehouse, and recommends Tennis Warehouse as the best source for tennis stuff ... which it is, in my opinion.

One of the really cool things about TLN and tennisftlauderdale.com is that they give Tennis Warehouse gift cards for activity and competitions within each season and for leading POTY point totals for the year. (Players get points for just hitting with each other in the Partner Program. More points if they play a match and win. More points for league matches, and even more points for playoff matches.) I won this POTY for tennisftlauderdale.com in 2012 (and got a nice Tennis Warehouse gift card) and am leading again this year.

One of the coolest things about TLN, imo, is that they have a national tourney held at the Crandon Park Tennis Center on Key Biscayne in Miami every year in November. I went last year and had a blast meeting and playing people from all over the country.

The Summer Season league at www.tennisftlauderdale.com is 3 weeks old, with about 5 or more weeks to go (Aug 25 is tentative deadline, but might be extended into early Sept).

Believe it or not, I'm 4-6 and have already made it into the season playoffs. They might split the league into 2 divisions in which case I would be in the lower one, with a realistic chance of winning the playoffs for this season as my highest rated opponent would then probably be a 3.25. But it hasn't been split yet, so we'll see.

The Spring Season league, which wasn't split into higher and lower divisions (and was officially called a 3.5 league division as that was about the midpoint in the range of ratings of the 22 participants), was won by a 4.25 guy who went undefeated for the season and playoffs. He was 15-0. Only 26, nice strokes, great movement and stamina.

Some of my matchplay vids from this Summer Season (as well as from previous seasons) can be found in this thread:

The 2013 Summer Season League of the www.tennisftlauderdale.com affiliate of the Tennis League Network ended several weeks ago (we're into the Fall Season League now).

I finished with a 6-14 record for the season. Made the B Division playoffs but lost my first match to a fellow 3.0 player who I usually beat. I remain a 3.0.

The B Division playoffs were won by TTW's own trader1499 who was subsequently bumped up to 3.25.

I'm probably going to start a 2013 Fall Season League thread soon.
