Tennis in England: which county has the best tennis scene?

    At the moment this is purely out of curiousity. Just wondered which English county has the strongest tennis community.

    I'm in Lancashire (Mancheter) and there's a couple of good clubs near me. Roehampton is where the new LTA tennis centre is which probably has the best facilities.

    Thanks Adam. I've got a mate who is weighing up a number of job offers in the UK but, as a tennis fanatic (ITN 5 / UK 5.1) , he doesn't want to get stuck somewhere that doesn't have a strong tennis culture, clubs and facilities. So I thought I'd pose the question.

    UK Tennis scene

    The Home Counties have the best facilities and the greatest number of players. Lancashire is good and so is Nottingham
