If you're Vietnamese and you refer to Saigon as Ho Chi Minh then you're probably "a communist". Maybe the OP is from North Vietnam?

I'm not talking to only Vietnamese American but to all tennis players on this websites, Americans, Vietnameses, Europeans, ect. That happen to be in Vietnam to play tennis. And yes, not everyone know about Saigon, it is not in the map. It is Ho Chi Minh city, this way everyone know exactly where I'm talking about. This is about playing tennis and not politic.

I bet Ho Chi Minh is rolling in his grave at the thought of anyone playing a Bourgeois - Capitalist Pig game like Tennis in his little utopia........

Agree with you. How is Tennis in Vietnam ? is it only for the wealthy and privileged ? or can anyone play ? I think after China, economic revolution will spread to Vietnam as well. then I hope all vietnamise can also enjoy higher living standards. I know there are a lot of good people there

Tennis is pretty active in Ho Chi Minh. I usually head out behind "The Independence Palace" where there are 8 outdoor courts. It's also about 3 blocks from the Ben Thanh market. I just show up and trainers usually come running out to offer and play with you for about 300,000 dong (13 usd). Quality is from 3.5-5.0. Don't expect anyone to speak english, but eventually you'll get your point across. It's an interesting setting in that the big water puppet theatre is there and so is a big open performance hall that seems to play 50's american music, with locals taking dancing lessons. Expect to play while listening to Elvis in the background :) There are also private tennis clubs like Lan Anh tennis club that you can book a court an trainer for also 300,000 dong. Seems all the private club and hotels (New World hotel) with courts will let outsiders play. Anyway, you shouldn't have a problem finding tennis in Ho Chi Minh. Enjoy!

"300,000 dong", sounds like a bad porn movie.

I would guess that by anyone's POV 300,000 dong would be over the top. YMMV.

Thanks for the great report. Ho Chi Minh is a city I've been considering; the fact that I can probably get a tennis session or two in (and at those prices) makes it more attractive.

In HCMC at the moment. if someone wants to hit regularly, i have a pretty flexible work schedule so i can spare some time to hit some balls.

    I´m a 5.0 - 5.5

I will try flynhi advice and show up at those two venues to find someone to hit with. Cheers
