Lately, I've been obsessed with skateboarding, which do you love more,

Seems like a rhetorical question asking on a tennis board but I am doing a research project

Just yesterday I asked my 12-year-old son the question, "What are your favorite sports to play?" Here's his ranking...
    1. Baseball
    2. Skateboarding
    3. Basketball
    4. Football
    5. Tennis
    6. Golf
    7. Soccer
Guess I won't have another Fed or Tiger growing up in my household...

I voted for skateboarding, right now im 30 years old, i started when i was nine or something and stop skateboarding about one year ago and i did it because there isnt anymore places to skate in my city, im waiting for a miniramp to get built around here to start again. :)

I used to skate and play tennis all the same day, i got injury because of abusing of my muscles though.

Being a grown man on a skateboarding is not really understood here so whenever asked i used to say: "I work as a Mechanical Engineer for living, but skateboarding is what keeps me alive", I have the same feeling about tennis but i love much more skateboarding.

Just do what you got to do

Tennis is not infinite for me, you can only do certain shots, angles, etc. and it's over.

Skateboarding on the other hand is way more creative, there is an infinite number of tricks available to master

I wasn't too good at skatboarding... a lot due to fear, but once in a while I could ollie 3 steps (going up), and I once landed a double kick-flip too... and I wasn't even dreaming!

I used to skateboard alot. Every day I would skateboard non stop for hours and if it rained, I got scared I would lose all my skills. I stopped like 3 or 4 years ago because it's a ton of stress on your body. Also, I was a lot better at tennis than skateboarding.

When I try to skate now, I suck. I can't do the things I used to. Seems like I'm getting old at only 16. Lol

Asking this question on a tennis forum, I think you know what answer the majority of the people will choose. If you asked this question on a skateboarding forum, I think the answers will be opposite from these. ;-)

I used to skateboard. Well, still do, I guess, though rarely now. Tennis has taken over for the time being, but I still enjoy skating and (especially) filming. Maybe this summer I'll have time to regain the skateboarding skills I once had and continue to improve in tennis. They're the only two sports I play.

On a related note, does anybody here know whether or not skating might help with tennis? I'm thinking footwork here. Skateboarding takes really subtle, controlled maneuvers of the feet. And it takes balance too. Lots of balance.

I used to be a sponsored skater, then tore my ACL doing railings. Post rehab I switched to tennis after seeing Sampras play.

There are a lot of things about skating that beats tennis, for one its just about you and your board, not about being "better" than someone else. Tennis is almost as good though.

Skating made me a better tennis player however. Its easy to go out on a tennis court and just think, whats more difficult, a backside nosebluntslide on a hubba or hardflip down 12 stairs or hitting a ball across a net...

Yes but in tennis there isnt the possibility of death or serious injury. Maybe if youre the worst player in the world and hit yourself in the head with the racquet! Thats a big pretty factor. Skill level its about the same. Creativity is a billion times more important in skating.
