I am partial to tennis shorts with mesh liners, as opposed to wearing some kind of underwear underneath the short.

I guess I am in kind of the minority in this preference for tennis apparel. Anyone know some brands that have these kinds of tennis shorts?

I would just stick to my regular fitness shorts but they don't have pockets like the tennis shorts.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have some nike dry fit kind with the liner thing. I got em at dick's. They're my only pair that have one but they feel pretty good.

Your choices will be somewhat limited. I am hooked on the Under Armor underwear -- thin, breathable and moderately supportive. These with non-mesh shorts might make you happy. They come in three different lengths, (including one that is quite "minimalist"), and are not to be confused with their compression shorts.

I recently schlepped my sorry butt all over town in my quest for simple white tennis shorts with the built-in (cotton) liners and pockets. I'm not a mesh-man myself...

I found an infuriating combination of shorts that either had the liners but weren't white, or were white but unlined. Or had no pockets. Or were any colour but white, usually black or navy. Or were so long and baggy I looked like a silly parody of a gang-banger.

For those in search of simple, mid-thigh length shorts, I recommend Prince's Double Action men's and Paeleonn boy's white shorts. Cotton liners, deep, DEEP pockets and that luxurious dry touch, even after hundreds of washes.

I bought an Ellesse shorts (7" inseam) last year that has a mesh liner (was listed until last week or so but not now.) Not sure if it is a common feature or not, and yes, Ellesses are pricy but top notch quality/ design.

Agreed 100%. They have to be perfect to your particular build since they are attached directly to the shorts and in most cases tend therefore to be poorly positioned/tight/uncomfortable, especially after a few groundstrokes. I wear a dri-fit sort of boxer brief under my shorts. Very comfortable.

Thanks...I got the Beckers from TW and they are great! The Tacchinis were not in my size.

I am definitely in the minority on this preference...lol. Every store or player I talk to hates the liners.
