So i have a western grip that spins like crazy and has a saw affect on stringbed and i was thinking of more comfort and feel but now realize i need to conserve my string breakage so what gauge should i go with?

Also performance wise does gauge size matter?

The thicker the string the more durable it is but you loose feel, the thinner the more feel you get and more power.

IF you are using synthetic gut on all of the string bed it will break very fast anyway try using polyester stings unless you are already using them

I think gauge doesn't affect power, but it does affect durability and feel.
Power is from swing, from technique.
