did that already and it was decent but not overwhelming.

i'm on the hunt for crosses with B5E specifically in the MG PP. got one already for the 4D100. :)

Curious to the point of the crank machine. What makes them better? I know the reason can't be accuracy because you can't get more consistent than a drop weight...

    Are they easier to use?

They are easier to use and faster. As long as you are consistent with your string jobs the crank is just fine.

Yes, speed for sure. The dropweight is nice, but it takes some time to balance the bar sometimes and nail the tension perfectly each time. The crank may be a little less accurate, but I believe in terms of an accurate string bed and speed it is better because it can be tough to balance the bar exactly the same for 38 pulls. At least it is for me, but I am not exactly a great stringer..lol.

good to recognize our weaknesses and strengths. :) think the dropweight is more tedious but doesn't require calibration.

I've only had to recalibrate mine once in 3 years and it only took a few minutes.

good deal. how do u know when it's time to calibrate/recalibrate or is there an easy test you perform every once in a while?

What happened with me is that I started missing everything long with two freshly strung rackets. So I said, hmm better check this sucker. Had to fork over I think $25 or $30 for a Gamma calibrator. Sure enough, it was pulling 5 pounds low! So now I check it about every 3 or 4 string jobs.

Playing last night in that wind was brutal especially when the other guy hits with as much spin as me! Got my 3rd victim now on a second serve ace that was so short he could not get to it. Probably shouldn't be too proud of that, but it is funny.

The wind was intense last night. Got a prestige that came strung in the low 40s..boy that was fun..pretty massive power and spin, but how do you hit lobs? lol..they were flying all over the place on me. I am still figuring the ideal tension for me in this stick..thinking maybe full poly at 48 or so.

Ross unfortunately does not deliver in terms of GHOATs. If you need dry fit gear though, you can score.

Probably going to cut out NXT Control tomorrow and put in B5E at 48# with MCS at 52#. Not playing until Sunday. If Poly Star Energy gets to my house tomorrow afternoon, I may cut out X1 and put it in as a full job.

I was thinking about refining my game and getting my serve technique right with 2-4 lessons. Who do you guys think locally gives the best bang the buck in terms of lessons? The guy I wanted to get them from is having immigration issues and it sucks because he was an ideal coach. Just want a guy who focuses on specifics and doesn't hit you balls for an hour and sends you home.

have u checked at Azalea? i'd ask at the front desk and be specific about serving. maybe take 1 lesson off a particular pro and see if it's working for you. if not find another.

    PP,

Frankie is cheap. Might be worth giving him a shot before looking elsewhere.

Yeah they had the pro I wanted. Dude was super cool and hit real heavy. Fixed a footwork issue of mine in 5 minutes and watched me serve..told me he'd have me serving big in an hour, and I believe him. Unfortunately he can't teach now due to visa issues. He was just an ideal guy because he encouraged big control hitting and could analyze my mistakes to a point where I really understood what to do fast. I am definitley down for a mid showdown again as well.

I was thinking of Frank. Is he just going to feed me balls or would he work on the stuff I want to fix?

My wife took 1 lesson with him and he got her hitting a nice 2 handed backhand for a beginner. I was impressed with the progress in just that 1 lesson. She got pregnant right after that and has not been on a court since.

Ok cool..ill call Frank then. I may be able to sneak out of the office for an hour lesson and make life easier for him to schedule it as well. I have been putting this stuff off and 3-4 quality 1 on 1 lessons would probably be a big difference maker.

If you are only going to be working on serves, schedule in half hour increments if possible. Your arm might fall off if you serve for an hour straight.

Well I was thinking a half hour on serve and then 30 on groundies/vollies for 3-4 sessions.

Gotcha. It's your money, so structure the lesson the way YOU want. I think he charges $40 or $45 an hour. He seems like a good instructor, so I definitely think he is a good person to start with.

Dont know Frank at all but dont overlook Angie. She knows a TON and has a lot of tour experience. Rich is great too - he used to work with Sampras - and you cannot find a nicer guy out there - but he is more expensive.

No, just a few soft polys. I'd go broke trying them all. Most likely will settle in on a multi soon. Bad_Call sent me the feed to your match, that is awesome.

    .

I dont get it. LOL. Is it because of my paranoia of seeing myslef on film? I'm really confused because I thought it was film of my recent match in Deland, which could not have happened - unless Bad Call was in disguise. Bad Call - if you have some film, go ahead and post. It might help me.

It would probably be helpful for all of us to have video of ourselves but I know what the Gator means.

In other news, I'm thinking about ripping off my leather grips and going back to a lighter synthetic grip and taking off all my lead tape to help my shoulder.

How heavy do you think your pure storm is? Mine swings pretty big with no mods at all.

I have never measured it. Bob made the comment about my heavy racket being the cause of my shoulder problem two months ago which is what has me thinking about going lighter.

When I had the Radical Pro, the high swingweight and balance got to my shoulder. Only time that has happened to me.
