Non-USTA. Frank seeds the top 8 players just by talking to everyone and seeing who is beating who. It is mostly 4.5s and 5.0s.

    Mikeler,
The durability of the Prince Premier softflex is not very good. The Tecnifibre X one Biphase is a lot more durable but plays a little stiffer as well. So how do you sign up for the Citrus Classic ?

I think Mikeler and RT put a bounty out on my head at OTC. 3 calls for matches.

I'm using Pro Supex Synthetic Gut Titan and Pro Supex Big Ace as a hybrid. Seems to be working fine. I not really a string critic - put something in my racquet and lets go play.

You have to talk to Frank to sign up for the tournament. How much more durable is the Technifibre?

That's good you are getting together with some of these guys. Everyone down at OTC has different styles of play which is challenging. I was using Big Ace in the mains with Gamma synthetic gut in the crosses. One day I'll get back to that setup if my elbow ever heals.

Anyone out there try any of the Gosen synthetic guts? They are so cheap, I've thought about just buying and using that for a little while.

The technifibre string holds tensions a lot longer, and does not fray as quickly.
After one set the Prince string starts to fray.

Pro Supex Maxim touch is like the TF but a little more durable. It is very soft...it would be great for your arm and it is cheap.

I told The Gator that when I warmed up with you, I thought I'd be in for a hell of a match. With your athletic ability, once you get some matches under your belt, you'll be tough to beat. We just need to help you develop that serve and you need to commit to coming into net more to practice that aspect of the game.

Got it, I sent you one back. Now that I'm getting in touch with more of the folks here, the motivation is kicking in to have a Chapter get together. Let's see what everyone's best days/times are in priority order. Here are mine. Please provide yours and then we'll go from there. Worst case, I'll just show my face for 15 minutes or so just to meet everyone.

    1. Saturday 8-11 AM
    2. Sunday 8-11 AM
    3. Wednesday 5-7 PM

Yea I didn't want to come off as a sore loser and I hate excuses but I didn't bring my A game that day. Was pretty tired and I was spraying forehands all over which isn't normal. We should definately play again and we will have a better match.

That is a good starting point. I'll see if I can get another member to book a 2nd court.

Woofing down that sub beforehand may not have helped your cause that day either :) I still have bite marks on my forearm from that night. Not sure what critters were eating away at me.

They were better last night. I had no idea how heavy those BIIs were until I switched to the Nikes.

Lost in a 3rd set tiebreak today. That is always a bummer. My slice serve netted me about 10 aces out to my opponents forehand with only 2 double faults. I had so many opportunities to win, but I just missed way too many easy putaways.

I'd prefer if my Noles could upset them, but our defense is putrid. Our offense is awesome and has basically saved us from going winless.

I'm a Clemson Tiger in addition to a Florida Gator. Big game for the Tigers against the Noles this weekend.

Yeah, I don't see us winning that game. I honestly watch our games now just to enjoy our offense and root for Ponder.

Racket help form the Central Florida guys ???

I figured I would post thi shere as the main TT board is mostly kids.
Anyway, I am in my mid 40's solid 4.0 level player with an all court game. Have been playing with the Babolat Pure Drive Cortex Standard for the past six months. My problem is that I really love playing with this racket, but my elbow is killing me. I have it strung with a soft multi (NRG 2 17) at a low tension. (55lbs) My technique has been looked at by a pro, and all is fine there. My only conclusion is that it must be the racket. Any suggestions on a replacement that will still yield the PD power ?? Thanks.

I went from the aero pro drive to the youtek radical. If you string at lower tensions with a powerful string, it hits just as hard with far more comfort and better control.

Next Wednesday is probably not going to work for me either. I don't have to be at the first meeting if that works out for a few other people.

the Radical should be a nice hit. keep in mind that the demos probably won't be strung with the best of strings and tension for you to get good power. like PP posted, lower tension produces better comfort and a bit more power.

I play with a liquidmetal radical (austrian) but ive hit with a youtek and they are similar from the baseline. Definately a solid all around frame with the perfect blend of power, control, and comfort. Only negative I noticed after demo'ing every new racquet out there was how weak it was at net. The youtek radical is more solid than my LM at net however.

I played SK who you are supposed to play next week. We both played poorly but it was good exercise.
