Goran I couldnt agree with you more...I owned 2 motorcycles and have sold both of them last year for just that reason..lack of education and respect for bikes ..folks just dont see them .Its rarely the cyclists fault..thats why defensive skills on a bike are key...maybe if I was living in Montana or somewhere out in the ******* it would be different, but Orlando is brutal..
hoping to play the citrus dubs with Wicked if he can get the time off..

I am debating weather too play or not...my mom (our nanny) went back to Europe, so might be difficult to find time to prepare for the tourney that's now about 2 weeks away. I have to drop 20lb and get some court time on har tru. And losing weight might be actually more difficult part :)
I also now have new found guilt to play while taking that time away from my baby girl.

Some dude brought his little girl to OTC on Saturday. She was probably 2 years old and just sat mostly quietly on the bench for the good part of an hour. My son would be crawling up the fence after 30 seconds!

I had my 3 year old smashing overheads illegally over the net on Sunday. He was enjoying it.

TW if anyone is looking for a cool place to stay in Houston area inrecomend woodlands resort. It's awesome i stayed in nearly every high end hotel in us and customer service is on par at woodlands and it does not hurt it has 10 har tru and 10 hard courts plus 4 indoor courts.

I just got an email yesterday from CFTA with this very sad news. My thoughts have been with his family and friends.

I first met Jorge at Lake Cane in the early 90's when I was repping Fischer and a string line. He went to S-T and would call me from time to time at TSA where I was stringing, especially if he got stumped with odd-patterned racquetball frames to restring. If I knew the pattern I would drop by and get him up on it and we'd grab a bite to eat and chat. Always a sweet guy! I'll miss him a bunch. RIP, big guy!

Thanks for the words and reflection on Jorge Tom...I also met Jorge back in the early 90's..we both loved talking rackets, we were especially fond of the Prestige..I probably bought 15 Prestiges from him over the years, they were always 100 bucks and always in mint condition, think I bought about every version from him, the last one was the I. Prestige..after that we lost touch. He loved the Sony/ Ericcson tournament in Miami, back then it was the Lipton, we would talk about it for months leading up to it...RIP Jorge

    Hey, Jeff!

How's the music biz treating you???

Maybe you can whip up a tune for Big Jorge...with a strong "string" section! I'd donate a few stringjobs' profits to his family if I still had a machine and inventory.

One funny story I forgot to mention. He left his post at the net to go back to the service line and pick up a ball. So I bounced one at him and he rared back and smacked an overhead off the bounce!!! I thought this kid is going to be a young phenom. So I bounced a few more and he was a couple feet off. Guess he just got lucky that first time.

You may be out of luck. About a week ago, Frank said he had 28 out of 32 slots filled for the club. I'd contact him ASAP. Another option is to play the Open and get your clock cleaned!

Dude I kind of would like that. I'd get rocked but it would be fun, as I doubt the 1st round matchup would be any better than the Junior stud I play now and then.

The Open he allows 64 man draws, so I'm sure you could get in that. Club I'm not so sure about, maybe for dubs.

I've never played it mainly because I'd have to take 3 days off versus 2 to play the tournament.

I'm scraping by on the money side down on I-Drive but our busy convention schedule kicks in this next month through May. I'm linked in with a guy who has a venue (restaurant/club) that could use your talent if you're interested. LMK if you've got any open nights.

Physically, I'm doing great...the job knocked off all my adult "babyfat"...you probably wouldn't recognize me now!

I was wondering who would be the first guy to go with that joke. :)

You may have missed it but McLovin is flying into Tampa this month and there was a discussion on the "clubs" over there in another thread.

Speaking about food...what food/liquid do you all use before/after tennis?? I know Power Player eats pickles/mustard sauce during tennis. Before and during tennis I like banana and lots of water; coconut water too. After tennis I just eat whatever to satisfy my hunger.

Carbs before a match. Gatorade in the hot weather during a match.

    Greetings Central Florida Chapter,

My 17 year old boy is going for his 1st atp points playing F1-F4 in January. F4 is in Palm Coast.

It would be great to find someone connected to the local tennis scene to host him during the tournament, in which initial checkin would be Jan 25th.

If anyone is, or knows anyone that my be interested. Please let me know. Thanks!

Flagler/Palm Coast is in an awkward location...just about halfway between Orlando and Jacksonville and over an hour drivetime from the center of either. For your son's convenience and to avoid a couple of hours driving each day, perhaps check with the tourney director for families right there or maybe in the Ponte Vedra area, which would be a straight shot down I-95 and less than an hour away. There is also a Futures on clay in early May that's held near Jacksonville. If he plans to play that, maybe a family there could "double down" and host him twice.

You could also look into the Daytona Beach/Ormond Beach area. The USTA has a huge facility there. Just wish they had built it in Orlando...

Why I'm buying another Exo Tour is beyond me since I don't need it but hard to resist a Jeff Nuese steal.
