Is there some tennis today? This evening rather? I'm leaving work at 3 and would like to catch some of the action. Anyone will be there?

One of the Club matches got rained out at 5-5, deuce in the 3rd set. I'm guessing the Gator will have to play 2 matches tomorrow if he wins his first one. Gator, why did you two start so late?

Courts were wet. Strarted about 3PM. Had a rain delay at 2-1 him, on sever. Then rain stopped us at 4-2 him 30-30. Resume match at 8:30. Rain stopped another match after the forst point in the 3rd set tiebreaker. PM - WB

Good, at least they are letting you finish tonight. I heard it was 5-5 and deuce when they stopped, so PM/WB must have had to stop twice. THAT SUCKS.

Lost 6-2, 6-0. I should have just stayed in bed. C, is a good player. DT beat SK 2, 2. DT in the finals and WB/C.

Is it to early to start drinking heavily?

Wow. That is a surprising result. DT had the easiest path to a final that I've ever seen.

I caught a few minutes of the 2nd Open semi. I heard the Club final is at 9:30 or 10. Not sure which is correct.

I watched both semis. Second semi was GREAT! The guy from Finland (if I am not mistaken) was really good and a real sportsman...

The 2nd semi was good, but they are not the same level as the #1 seed. I see a comfortable straight sets win tomorrow. I think I'll be up there around 11:30 or 12. If anybody else is going to be there, I'll probably be the only one with a cute 11 month old baby and wife (inside most of the time b/c he is loud)

There will be a big crowd, so listen for a strawberry blond baby that sounds like an ambulance! Vlad is a beast, if you want to watch a player that Federer would have no problem hitting with as a practice partner, get your butt down there tomorrow. It's a really cool environment with a bunch of people watching that love tennis as much as we do here on the boards.

My wife and I will probably be right by the door to the courts. We dont' want to interfere with any matches because of an excited baby :) We may not be there long either depending on his mood. If you see us, say hello.

So the Greece guy seemed like a jerk to you too? He seemed super cocky when I saw him. I wonder how he acted when he lost.

Oh yes. He clearly stole 2 points from the Finnish and his behavior was terrible. That was really too much. I was really happy to see Finnish in final. Greek served for the match and he lost at the end.

I was behind him when he left the OTC. He broke 2 racquets and his gf was really scared...

God thats some tool like behavior. Wow..yeah his GF was there when I went and everything you said does not surprise me at all. It's sad when I watch someone for 30 minutes and already can tell they are a jerk. Congrats to the Finn, I hope he enjoyed beating that guy as much as I enjoyed reading about it.

I saw DT break 2 sticks in the club final! WB is the Champ again. Can't wait to start playing the Champ on Saturday mornings but I think it will be awhile. I'm considering trying a cortisone shots.

    Hello guys,

Long time reader, first time writing, and like just to said thanks to let us know about the tournament in OTC this past weekend. Went there and enjoyed the final very much. Great player definitely.
I am a 5.0 player, living in the St. Cloud area, so I dont get to met too many people in the area, just have a select it group to hit with.
Anyhow, enjoy very much your stories and MIKELER, hope you get well from your elbow. I just hurt mine 2 weeks ago, and I'm out of the courts for weeks if not months, will see.

ps. Did anybody know if its was price money in the OTC tournament, and how much it was?? I just wonder.

Bad_Call asked me this in an e-mail earlier today. In the past I believe the winner got 2k to 3k. I can find out the exact amount from the guy who sponsored the tournament.

Wow, that's not bad at all for a price like that in this area..no?.
Too bad for the Serbian that didn't have a good day, he has a pretty one hand-BH. The Finnish has a solid serve yesterday and I think that's what it make the difference in the long run.

I think the Lake Cane Open earlier in the month usually pays around a grand to the winner. Vlad does have a great 1 hander. I talked to a guy up there who says he gives lessons for $65/hour.

Vlad does have a very nice 1HBH. thought he was going to be able to serve himself out of the hole and do a bit more with the BH but fell a bit short. great match tho.

    so Vlad gives lessons there?

the Fin is solid. one must have more weapons/tactics to get him off balance.

I didnt recognize Bad Call with his hat on. I got to watch the second set. I sat up in the stands by myself behind the court. I was at a Christmas party Saturday night and was in the spirit, if you know what I mean. I didnt know I was such a good bongo player - although I doubt the other people at the party would agree with me. Any way - I played in the consolation doubles final Sunday morning. I actually felt pretty good first thing. But sitting up there watching the match - it hit me. Sorry I didnt spend more time talking Bad Call.

Oh mate, I will like to hit with some of you guys, but for awhile I just keep reading until my elbow get better. Other than that I think nobody here will be disappoint it hitting with me. I do like practice a lot thought and finish with one set or half of a set. I like to play games, but practice rallies its very important for me.

OK, so I'm looking for some of the softest non-natural gut strings. I remember mentions of Maxim Touch and Multifeel. Any other really soft multis out there. I have no concerns about durability anymore, I'll restring after every match if I have to.

Hej where are you from? UvijekArgen means always Argen in my language. You are not by any chance a guy that I met once watching tennis on JustinTV that is half Croatian half argentinian are you?
I am a bit injured as well and I had to take a month off with occasional hitting just to see if I am better just to get disappointed again lol. My level is 4.5 to 5.0 depending on how much time I spend on a court with all the traveling for work that I do. What sucks for me is that I can literary blow off the college guy off the court and than month later loose to a league hacker 6-1 6-1 as my level drops between the travels. Anyhow I am looking to get some consistent high level of rallying to get my level back up again.

I love to practice hit in fact I would be better off only rallying than serving as my shoulder and arm muscles are not fit to play a set but strangely I can rally w/o pain. I have some shoulder issues and some impingements that radiate all the way to my triceps and biceps area.

I am testing maxim touch and to my surprise its really durable multi (although i am not hitting the whole time with Maxim since I have 5 different strings that I am testing) but some have stated that its not durable but I found it that its not even frying yet. As a comparison Nat Gut eve 15 lasts only up to 8hrs for me and starts frying almost after 3-4 hrs...

Maybe I am babying my arm a bit so maybe that it the factor but I found it really good...not as much spin as say TopSpin Cyberflash but it does ok

That's funny. Ever since I had my kid when I have to take even a week off I usually suck the next time out. Last year playing 5 times a week I was playing really well.

What gauge of Maxim Touch are you using? Do you have any extra sets you would be willing to sell?

That was quick... :) I am using 1.25. I wanted to try thinner to maximize spin potential on 18by20 pattern anything over that I have to flatten out my strokes a bit more (something I dont like as much)

Oh sorry no extra sets but I will by ordering more along side Topspin Cyberflash as my favorite string for my racket "finalists" :) I dont want to post here regarding purchase on comp. site but email me if you need a link where to get maxim

Oh an so far excellent tension maintenance on maxim touch full string bed. I didn't measure it but if feels just as tight as it was after the first initial hit...

I wish Maxim Touch lasted for me. I rip through it i under 6 hours unfortunately.

I am using Big Hitter for the moment. It is basically Cyberflash but it breaks in slower. The spin is ridiculous though. I won my match last night 6-3, 6-3 (really could have double bageled, but I made too many UE's) a lot of my winners were dropping on the line and my oppponent thought they'd be long.

My serve is coming around slowly..it let me down at times and I'd DF my way out of some easy games..but I also dropped aces in. I completely changed it to an abbreviated serve because I was not cocking my wrist at the right time and I think that really was the source of my inconsistency. I have to get the toss placement right and slowly get my power back. I have gone from relying on flat serves to slice and topspin ones.

If I can get 2 matches out of it, then that will be fine for now. Just gotta think of the arm and not the wallet. I may try the Jay Berger type serve for awhile to see if that helps my elbow out.

Holy ****za hahaha, Yes Goran, thats me, the half and half :)...kako si??
I remember you told me you live close of downtown. Definitely we can arrange when you feel better, and if your biceps and triceps hurts avoid serving, that's for sure. I went to hit alone today to see how my elbow feels and its not bad, it bother, but i have to be strong willing hold one more week at least.
And totally understand about beating good players and then with when you played with somebody that its below level you play all backward. I think happens to all of us :)
Anyhow lets see for this week coming up to hit at least for an hour, and if you bring civapici I tell everybody that you are ex top 100!!:)

    puno pozdrava!

You should have contacted me I am dying to hit. I am laying off of serves for a little while but we could have at least drilled backhand to backhand or forehand to forehand a bit...if I can hit the corners still lol...

PowerPlayer are you using an open string pattern racket by any chance?

    Dunlop balls

In other things, a big reason that I hurt my elbow was playing a match with Dunlop balls. I found them awful to play with and I try to avoided as much possible if somebody brings them, I always bring my own balls which are the penn/head ATP (hard court). I don't know if I'm crazy or too picky, but did anybody of you guys feel the same about tennis balls?
