Yeah..those daily clinics are mainly low level players. Some old lady was telling me to "stop killing the ball". It was lame...lol.

Carlos taught those clinics and he was really good. He was real complimentary and hard on me, so I would like to hit with him in a smaller group with better players.

I didn't realize it until today, but judging by other threads, the 3 of us are all in the short guys club. I'm 5'-8" with shoes on.

I never had any type of basketball career, but I did play quite a bit in college for exercise. I blew out my knee in grad school and have only played a few times since then.

I pulled my forearm muscle a few days ago. I need to find some 4.0s that I can play left handed for a little while!

I have beef with E Tennis.

The lady there sold me Barricade IIs and told me over and over that there is a warranty. She even put it in the box. Well, now my shoes are detroyed after 4 months of tennis. I told her I needed some cheapies to tide me over until getting the new barricades back and she said there is no warranty on the BIIs, even though she clearly told me otherwise when I bought them.

Everybody there is super nice to me and I go there all the time. Not sure how to handle this because I would not have bought these shoes w/out a warranty. They are leather and I sweat so much I knew the leather would get worn fast and rip (which is what has happened, plus the soles are gone)It's kind of tough to call someone out, but I may have to do it. I wonder if I should email John? I don't want to cause a problem since it is the only place in town to buy gear.

I was going to buy the TW Donnay Pro One OS to have as my fun racquet and now I have to drop another 80-100 on dhoes instead...sucks!!!

I buy my cheapo New Balance shoes at the local big box store here in town. They asked me if I wanted a warranty on a $45 pair of shoes. I said no thanks and bought 2 more pairs. The first pair wore out after about 3 months. So the next time I go there, I may take them up on it, but I'm always worried about a situation like you are going through.

Lake Cane has a decent pro shop, but it is not as comprehensive as Etennis. I buy everything through TW except for items that they don't sell which I just buy at another online retailer.

NB Tennis shoes would be awesome for that price. I just need a decent pair and then I will buy some Nikes in a month. Where do you get the NBs? I have been looking all over for a deal like that.

How come you guys dont take advantage of the outlets in your neck of the woods?
I did it before when I am in the area.

It rhymes with Forts Majority :)

They are not the same quality as typical NB shoes, so unless you get the warranty, the cost is probably the same since the more expensive NB shoes tend to last until the soles wear out. These shoes my toe was sticking out of it after 3 months!

I have tried going to the NB outlet store, but I wear a 4E wide and I can never find that in the outlets. It sucks having wide feet because it is extremely hard to find any other brand that fits my feet well.

haha..ok sweet. I will go there immediatley and get some shoes. thank you.

Also, can I get deals at the outlets? I just assumed that real tennis shoes were very hard to acquire there. Or is this not the case? Id love to get some 50 dollar Vapors!

Are the City Courts just total hot garbage? They are 39 bucks.

    haha..ok.

Well I also emailed Etennis with a polite email stating my situation. Maybe they will cut me a deal on some Vapors..who knows. I think the lady made a mistake, but it cost me some cash.

I always hate to stir the pot, but usually in situations where you speak up, most of the times you end up getting what you want.

Yeah..the Barricades are damn nice, but I could have bought Vapors for a little more. I prefer them since they are lighter, and are not all leather.

if you know what shoes you want then suggest TW. good to patronize local stores but not when customer satisfaction is compromised. just my $.02. :)

Did some internet research last night. Looks like I have golfers elbow. Oh the irony, I've never played a round of golf in my life!

That sucks. My arm is fine, and I am back to full poly. I think I had golfer's too..I am not sure though. Serving wrong was what got my arm. Once I fixed that, I was good. I hope it stays that way..maybe you overplayed or something?

I went to the SA and tried on the New Balances..I could not pull the trigger. Even though my barricades are completely shredded, they feel so good to play in. I guess I can't go back to cheap shoes now that I bought them..sucks. I am going to play out these barricades until they come off my feet. Maybe by then Etennis will have responded to me.

...badcall banned? He is super nice! I wonder what he did..lol.

As for the golfer's elbow, that is in addition to my elbow bursitis or whatever else is going on toward the tip of my elbow. I did it using a pretty extreme continental grip hitting kick serves my last match. I may still give it a go on Saturday.

Etennis hooked me up. They gave me half off another pair of Barricade IIs which was great. I have to give them props because they treat you right.

So they did not honor the full warranty? Those are fairly expensive shoes if I recall, so even half off is a good bargain. You did get several months use out of the original pair.

Nah..the shoes are only $89, probably the best deal for the quality. So I paid around 45 for a new pair. I will probably buy another similar pair and alternate.

It was a good deal because I tried on the NBalance 515s yesterday and they just did not have that real soft comfy feeling I am used to from the BIIs.

The 515s are the one I use. I don't think the Barricades come in a wide size, so that is not an option for me unfortunately.

Well I think my golfer's elbow is gone now. I played a pro set Saturday and had a few aces which was nice. The tip of my elbow has some soreness, but between injuries and rain, I'm feeling pretty good except for the fact that I'm getting fatter by the day!

Power_Player, I saw that you had a question about reducing grip size on another thread that was pretty long. I tried the Laserfibre twintone replacement grips and they probably will reduce your grip size by about 1/8. Putting the replacement grip on is just like putting on an overgrip, you just have to be a little more methodical since the replacement grip has glue.

I use a 4-1/4 grip on my grips. I definitely prefer the smaller grip size.

    3/8 - 1/8 = 2/8 or 1/4 :)

I've never seen these in a store. I bought mine from TW.

if they do have it, don't be surprised if it's closer to $20 from them. had to haggle with them once for a $15 heat sleeve...which TW sells for $2. also put it on myself.

I'm going to order that laserfibre..that may be the way to go. Then if I don't like the 1/4 inch grip, I can just buy a regular leather again and go back to 3/8ths.

I'm not a surfer but grew up in West Palm and spent my life at the beach. That is one cool wave. So clean. I bet the surfing was great fun. Probably a bit tiring.

I was on the other coast in a tournament fighting the rain in Clearwater.

Thanks for posting that. Frankie must be bummed out, but he is the front runner for OTC if they go private. Like I've said way too many times, I just do not want MG Tennis. They hog all the courts with all their kids programs at Fort Gatlin and Lake Cane.
