Rained out today at OTC at 12noon with SK. I have family coming into town tonight so I will be hitting on the neighborhood courts this weekend. My youngest son has his HS graduation ceremony tonight at UCF. I think this officially makes me old. We had a graduation party last night at the Sportsman Club on the Butler Chain and I consumed my share of adult beverages - so actually the rain probably saved me some pain as I was not feeling the best.

Tournament next week at Lake Cane.

What you got going this weekend Mikeler?

I have JN tomorrow and SK on Sunday. It will be a good test to see where my game is at. Maybe we can play next Wednesday if I come out of the weekend injury free. If not, I'll give your NTRP rival RJ a practice session for the tournament! I love the fact that you guys are 1 and 2 in the rankings now. Keep OTC proud :)

Played pretty well today especially in the first set which I won 6-1. I got broken once in the 2nd set and that was enough to lose that set. Played a set of dubs afterwards and for the first time perhaps this year, 0 double faults!

    Have a good time guys.

Glad to see Nadal back in good form. Pity it wasn't a closer match. Feel bad for soderling who beat both guys but couldn't do so in the same tourny /:.

I was up 6-0, 5-2 today and it ended up going to a 2nd set tiebreak. I went up 5-1 in the tiebreak and lost. We stopped there. The humidity wore me down in the 2nd.

I was on fire with my serve today.  I probably had 10 aces.  I had 3 aces in 1 game.  I also served well yesterday so hopefully this is a trend. Two DFs today, 1 was going for an ace and the other one hit the top of the tape and sailed long. Was getting some great action on my 2nd serve too. I did not miss 1 overhead or volley. My forehand was pretty good but my backhand sucked.

Anyone who is like a 3.0 or so up for hitting around with an out of towner in the Lake Mary area? I'm 24 and don't have an official rating but from what I've seen I think 3.0 would be a decent guess. dbohio22@yahoo.com if interested this week.

Never realized how much I use my wrists on groundstrokes until last night. I have maybe sprained both of them from riding, but it's also a break in period from riding rigid forks. Regardless, my wrists are messed up for now. Hitting the ball was agonizing for a while..then it got ok, then after another hour, I had to stop. I could not control the ball and it was going everywhere. The pain was too much.

It really hurt to hit reverse forehands when I was on the run. I realize now that I have used strong wrists to create heavy spin. I always thought it was the low to high thing, but there is more involved then just that for me. Sucks, but my plan is to rest for a little while and use full synthetic gut also until everything settles down.

^ I get plenty of spin on my shots with a mostly locked wrist on both wings.

The Gator has another tourney this weekend. Not much of a draw yet but hopefully there will be a few more last minute additions.

I thought the same, but while my wrist is pretty locked on impact, stuff is going on before and after that I did not realize until I hurt it. I close the racquet face right after impact for example. I knew I did it, but never realized how exactly.

Is the blanch open happening today? I am there if it is. A week of not playing is enough to drive me crazy.

huh...wouldn't post no humidity...more like ~40% or so. gauging this by the amount of sweat rolling down my back. :)

Thanks mikeler. Im really going to focus on my serve technique from now on which is something I don't do on my 1st serve.

Also try not to left it get too far too the right or left. Keeping the same toss for all my serves has really helped the last few weeks.

For me, humidity is the key. Today I spent 5 hours on a tennis court w/o any problems because humidity was ok.

Funny, Bad Call. I dont think I really want to see myself on video. Scarry. You always have this image in your mind what you look like, but on video - it looks nothing like it.

Won two matches yesterday - play this morning. I actually thought it was more uncomfortable at 10:30 then my second match at 1:30. In the morning, there was no breeze at all. At least at 1:30 - a little cloud cover and a slight breeze.

I love anything but cold. I play my worst tennis when its cold and windy.

Heat does not bother me at all unless I am fresh off the plane. For some reason plane ride/business trips take more energy from me than 10 hrs of tennis :)
