Thanks for the string tip Bob. Most likely going to buy some in the near future. The typhoon was awesome for the first day but it really lost tension faster than any string I have used.

You are more than welcome! Yes, I agree with you - Typhoon is superior for the first 2-3 hours of hitting but after that it just goes trampoline way :) Btw, I suggest to go with full job (Isospeed). IMHO, this string is not really meant to be hybridized :)

Played 1 set of singles and 2 sets of doubles today. Not by choice though. I called a let after a 2nd serve on set point right when my opponent hit a nice return into a corner. He ended up tanking the point and the set then did not want to play singles anymore. I was up 5-1 so I probably should have given him the point and moved on.

Had a 6-3, 4-0, 0-40 lead when I was returning and wound up losing the 2nd set 6-4. I had not been broken at all until 4-1 and then I get broken 3 times in a row. My kid woke up at 5 AM this morning so I think I just ran out of gas plus my opponent started playing better. Argh, those hurt!

I agree Bob, I start to notice my balls going longer and longer by the day since I start to use Typhoon. I think they did the job while my tennis elbow healed, but I think I'm getting back to my old strings after this set loose tension.

Im pumped. My wrist is back to normal and I can hit tomorrow. I also got more Sgut string to put on some racquets. I am going to compare the POSG to the Wilson and see if there is a difference.

^ Seems like most people agree Forten Sweet is the softest synthetic gut. Have you tried it? One of these days I'd like to try it out.

I may..I like the crisp feeling stuff that sounds like a hand cannon when I hit the ball. That is why I love stamina. It just has all those characteristics. I am trying a different syn gut each order though to see what others are just like it. So far nothing is close, but the POSG is up to bat.

I had a real pleasureable day 2 with full Stamina in my racquet. I am just out of tennis shape right now and it hurt after about an hour and a half. I was basically done and struggled to move my feet at that point. But striking the ball was the best feeling I have had in any setup so far. As much as I love poly, I feel the ball so much with full synthetic. Poly is a superior string for precision, but I love that I can string up the Sgut tighter at 62#s, it won't die like poly and it sounds like a cannon. It is also way easier to string and very cheap.

I will probably go with full syn gut for a while until I really get the stringing process down and feel I need to make a change. The feel of the racquet is everything to me if I want to get in a rythm.

My Maxim Touch 17 has lasted probably more than 12 sets. Maybe keeping my sticks in the oven known as my trunk actually preserves them!

Played last night and got crushed in the 1st set 6-1. I hit more frame than strings. Somehow managed to come back in the 2nd set twice down a break and then down 5-2 in a tiebreaker to split sets.

Uvijek Argen would like to know when you will be playing. He is OK for 6PM.

Unfortunately, I am gonna have to pass BO today due to fever that I am having for the last 4 days :( I hate viruses. I was in denial yesterday and I really have to rest properly. Have fun guys! :)

Had a weird match today. I won 3-6, 6-0, 7-5.  After the first set, I won 9 games in a row. Almost blew 3 match points and a 5-2 lead in the 3rd.  The 5-5 game went to a bunch of deuces so it came down to that game. It was so hot when I left at noon.

I hit Saturday moning in the neighborhood for an hour. We just decided we did not want to go on. Besides, I had other things to do like work on my boat trailer - getting ready for the Keys trip at the end of July.

RJ came over this morning and we worked out with RW for 2.5 hrs. On the computer - dreading going out and mow the grass. Maybe I should take a nap first.

Certainly is hot. My shoes were sloshing

What time Friday? Me and Mikeler got a hit in yesterday afternoon. It was great training for playing in a tropical storm. It was one of those days where it got very black with lots of wind but never did really rain. I few drops but we were able to finish.

^ When we started the wind was blowing from the east, then shifted out of the southeast and eventually to the south! Tough conditions for sure, but luckily both players have to deal with them.

I played for 3 hours last night. Weather was awesome. I still sweated through 2 overgrips and am feeling it a little today.

Extreme inconsistency was springing up for me. I think playing back to back days can get you until you really get in super shape.

^ When I used to play 5 or 6 days a week, it was never a problem playing back to back 3 setters but I was in the best shape of my life then.

The sets aren't too bad. It's the rallying that I do 2-3 times a week for fitness that is a killer. 5-6 days of back to back 3 setters would hurt though.

    What time at OTC?

I don't take I-4 on Friday afternoons, so I won't be able to meet down there. Thanks for the offer though. 70% chance of rain tomorrow, good luck!

Normally I take the East-West to I-4 to get home. On Fridays or days like today where there is heavy rain, I always take the Beachline home so I'm pretty far away from OTC. Tomorrow is supposed to be just like today, so the chances of a get together are slim.

The weather is going to suck or i'd be down. I have to plan a day ahead because I work right next to OTC and can be there right after work, but I need my gear with me.

I will bring my gear to the clinic tomorrow, rain or not, you never know in Florida. Yesterday was storming in some places, but in the Lake Nona area was fine, played for 2 hours, and not a single breeze.....pure (humid) sauna!!

    511 AM EDT FRI JUL 2 2010

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA.

    .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

    ...THUNDERSTORM IMPACT...
ABUNDANT MOISTURE AND A SURFACE BOUNDARY SAGGING INTO NORTH
FLORIDA WILL COMBINE WITH NUMEROUS BOUNDARIES FROM SEA BREEZES...
LAKE BREEZES AND OUTFLOWS TO PRODUCE WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND STORMS
TODAY. COVERAGE OF SHOWERS AND STORMS WILL INCREASE INTO THE
AFTERNOON HOURS...THEN LINGER WELL INTO THE EVENING. STORM MOTION
WILL BE SLOWLY TOWARD THE NORTHEAST AT 5 TO 10 MPH.

THE PRIMARY HAZARDS WITH STRONGER STORMS WILL BE FREQUENT CLOUD TO
GROUND LIGHTNING STRIKES...STRONG WIND GUSTS OF 40 TO 50 MPH AND
    TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS.

    ...FLOOD IMPACT...
SLOW STORM MOTION WILL ALLOW A QUICK ONE TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN TO
FALL AS STORMS PASS...WITH LOCALLY HEAVIER AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF
THREE INCHES POSSIBLE. THESE HEAVY AMOUNTS MAY CAUSE FLOODING OF
LOW LYING AND POOR DRAINAGE AREAS...ESPECIALLY IN LOCATIONS WHERE
HEAVY RAINS HAVE OCCURRED OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS.

    ...MARINE THUNDERSTORM GUST IMPACT...
SHOWERS AND STORMS WILL BECOME WIDESPREAD OVER MARINE AREAS THIS
AFTERNOON. STORM MOTION WILL BE TOWARD THE NORTHEAST AT 5 TO 10
MPH. IN ADDITION TO FREQUENT CLOUD TO WATER LIGHTNING...A FEW
STORMS MAY PRODUCE WIND GUSTS OF 35 KNOTS...WHICH COULD TIP OR
    SWAMP SMALL CRAFT.

    ...WATERSPOUT IMPACT...
LIGHT WINDS AND DEEP MOISTURE MAY ALSO ALLOW BRIEF WATERSPOUTS TO
DEVELOP TODAY. BOATERS SHOULD BE ALERT FOR WATERSPOUTS AND MOVE
AWAY FROM THEM AT A 90 DEGREE ANGLE.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.
A PERSISTENT MOIST PATTERN WILL KEEP SHOWER AND STORM CHANCES
ELEVATED INTO THIS WEEKEND. A GRADUAL RETURN TO SCATTERED COVERAGE
OF SHOWERS AND STORMS IS EXPECTED BY EARLY NEXT WEEK.

    .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL NOT BE NEEDED TODAY.

The clay courts at OTC don't handle heavy rain very well so make sure you call them at 407-246-4469 before venturing down there.
