I hit for the first time at MetroWest. They have 4 clay courts. We were suppose to play at OTC but the courts werent playable even at 6PM. This was the first time hitting with my new partner, that I met at OTC.

What's the deal with those courts? Are they neighborhood only? What kind of fees if not? Hopefully I'll see you tomorrow if the rain holds off.

I thought it was a private club and only for members. The guy I played lives in the MetroWest and he called the club. We payed a small fee of $5. Clauco teaches at these courts - splits his time between Keene's Pointe.

Sicne I have been posting about racquets flying out of my hands and leg cramps lately, I found solutions :

Leather grip, particularly Babolat's with Tourna on top. It is far better then a synthetic if you have sweaty hands.

Pedialite powder in your water for cramps. Definitley is helping me out so far. As seen in the Health area, I am going to try some other alternatives and see what is best. The pedialite can get pretty pricey and the powders do not come unflavored.

Yeah, my Babolat leather grips help absorb more sweat too. I'll give the Pedialite a shot. The thread you are referring to is the one I started below:

The Pedialite will make a huge difference, I about guarantee it. It will work for now, and then I am going to try other things listed in the thread and see if they work as well. I should have cramped multiple times last night due to how much I was sweating, and I never came close.

The Gator and I had a great battle last night which he won 6-4 in the 3rd. The 1st set he donated one break to me and that was all I needed to win that set. The 2nd set I'd like to forget about. He got a break late in the 3rd set and that was all he needed to take the match. I served great, just wish I didn't miss so many forehands especially on those easy short balls.

The Powerade Zero agreed with me last night. So I'm going to try that out this weekend. Pedialyte liquid was $4/L at CVS so I'd like to avoid using that if I have to.

    Sounds like a good match.

If you decide to try other stuff, go with the pedialyte powder in a larger water jug over buying the bottles. It is 4 bucks for 4 packs. I have so far had awesome success with it and will use it as my go to, if my "home made" combos do not work.

I love the Powerade zero in orange flavor. I drink it before I play usually. I am also trying coconut water before I play too. I find that the pwerade zero is too easy to start chugging when I get really dehydrated, while the pedialyte is easy to sip on.

I'm with you on the Orange. I went to CVS today and all they had were Strawberry and some Blue flavor.

Played like crap yesterday except for the 2nd set. Lost in 3. I'm serving well again but my forehand has lost its way.

This rain has been killing my game. I also am trying to keep my wrist healthy. Just when I found a great stick for my game in the Dunlops back in January, I now have to reassess what I can use. I am trying to figure out if I can handle a 12oz stick with a low swingweight or if I need to go lunder 11.5 with a high SW.

Dear god I may have to go back the apdc..lol. Stringing with low tension has been a lifesaver though..I really think it has kept me on the court and able to play without pain.

Now I know why some of you fellas were saying "stringing is not that bad..it's easy..just do it!!". I strung up an apdgt last night and it was a lot faster then the the closed pattern Dunlops I use. My fingers were not aching. It seems like they make the Babolats "stringer friendly" or something because I had zero issues with full poly. I probably should have started on one..haha.

Crossing fingers that we get to hit this afternoon. Rain has missed us on the west side so far. Playing in the morning at OTC. I will also be down there Saturday for doubles. I feel like this would be a tweet on tweeter cause its information no one should really care about. LOL

If I string top down, my PSTs are easier to do than any of my old Prince rackets especially the ones with the O-ports. Doing it the other way is tough with the 20 cross strings. I've only had rackets with 16 mains so I don't know how much harder 18 is.

I'm supposed to play this afternoon as well. Looks like there is a big storm over the Green Swamp. If that holds together, no tennis for me. My A/C went out two nights ago and won't be fixed until Friday, so I"ll take the gloomy weather for another two days. :)

I am downtown and it currently is sunny. It rained at 12 and was going to light to dark more then once. I am hoping that I too can play this evening, but the good news for OTC is that if the rain is done, the courts will all be dry. The humidity has insured that already.

The last two nights have not been too bad because of the rain and clouds. We turn the fans on full blast and I actually have had to use the covers. The little guy sleeps on the side with the A/C so he is comfy. Now when the sun comes out tomorrow, it will be a different story. Just over 48 hours to go and then we'll be back in business.

If anybody needs a good AC contractor, my guy kicks butt. He does great work and you probably won't find a lower price.

Tweaked my elbow last night. Got bageled in the 2nd set and was afraid to hit first serves. Iced it last night and this morning and it is definitely better. I'm scheduled to play both days this weekend so hopefully it can handle it. I stopped using my Flexbar for a few days. Every time I've tried to wean myself off it, my elbow starts hurting again.

Played well today but ran into a red hot opponent. It was a fun battle and I just could not convert my chances when I had them. The Gator was down there playing doubles at OTC with his ringer, I mean stringer. That kid had some serious lefty action on his shots. I can see why you have trouble against him!

Yeah, he puts a lot of action on his serves. He was rusty today - he hasnt been playing much with just starting school out at UCF. Played 3 sets of doubles and then played a few super tie-breakers with RJ after. It was good seeing RJ back from his knee injury. I'm playing doubles in the morning down at Hunters Creek with RJ. So you got beat by the lefty Gator.

Yes, this is the 2nd time in the last few weeks I've run into a fellow Gator and played well but still ended up in the loss column! Played today and strained my abdomen on a serve on the left side of my body. I bailed out early in the 3rd set hoping not to make it worse.

At least I know The Outfield are getting back together again...hope they tour the US.

Glad that you have fun.:) I saw some pics in the 2ndlight forum, hopefully now with the storm passing from PR some swell come up for you guys.

Really don't miss the drive every day to the beach, but as soon as I get nostalgic I will order you a quiver:) If I ever come back will love to have a 6 channel bottom. Surf one time with one and it was pretty smooth.
