6 channels are for really fast waves...not for here. can recommend a knowledgeable shaper/surfer. crazy what the shops try to push on the older surfers...good to have an inside track. ;)

Well, that sucks then:( ...For here a flat bottom will do the job like my old board I guess, experience before a double concave LOST and didn't like it. But you know my story with the waves here..it has to be big or I don't surf:)

By the way this is the only pic I found in the internet were I surf that 6 channel is a Waimea type wave in San Juan named "La Ocho"

Those are some large waves! I think I may avoid playing tennis until the winds die down which is predicted on Thursday.

Yes, its pretty windy... My wife and I tried to hit yesterday, but we call it out after 15 minutes.

By the way and this goes to everybody, did anybody ever have, hip pain or something similar?
I'm in a lot of pain since yesterday. Started in the Left upper gluteus and now its taking the side and even the front. Since that happend rest and Aleve its the only thing I can take for now.

UA - if u can, try stretching. suggest laying on your back and bring knees up to your chest then rotate knees from one side to the other. might be your hamstrings which tends to affect other parts.

Thanks BC, I will try that. I did some other stretch, but the pain its so sharp sometimes that I stopped, then while I walked all the area its numb. I'm so in denial about getting old.

Bob....hahaha..so you are telling me no fun? :)

I played yesterday afternoon with PM. The winds werent that bad, actually made the playing conditions bearable.

My left oblique is still hurting from serving Sunday. Not sure when I'll be able to serve again without pain. I'd hate to sit out on a rare 3 day weekend.

The first 1.75 sets of the Nadal match were pretty entertaining. Was disappointed to see Wozi was not playing before Nadal :(

I think we can all relate to Nadal's opponent. The guy just missed shots he makes all day in practice.

Whenever you play a guy that you THINK can run down everything, there is a tendency to try and do too much with the ball especially on the big points.

Yes I agree. I play a guy like that and sometimes I swing too hard on sitters when I really don't need to.

You forgot the 3rd option, LOSE! :) Supposed to play today and I'm really looking forward to it. Hurricane Earl has sucked all the humidity away from our area and it has been so nice out this week.

Yes..I cant wait. And I love going big Coyfish..relaxing my swing just a few ticks made me a lot more consistent though.

Dang, ran into another white hot opponent last night. Everything was clicking for me except my forehand. Once I miss a few, I just get too tentative. My forehand and serve are the same in that respect. The more safe I try to play it, the more I hit out! Looking forward to playing the next 3 days in a row. I love holiday weekends.

My oblique strain was fine last night but I tweaked my lower back. Seems better today. This is a tough sport on the body.

Played poorly yesterday but kept both sets close in a loss. Today I was in the zone. Everything was working for me. Now how do I do the same thing tomorrow? :)

Bump!! just to say hello...:) Hope everybody its enjoying the US Open

So its going to be 2 weeks here on bed since the injury, not able to walk farther than the bathroom (violin STILL playing in the background),and what appear to be a sprain/strain of muscle tissue and tendons in different areas of the hip and upper quads. The bizarre part its that I never felt anything pulling like usually happens, instead start with a discomfort in the gluteus like I explain before and day after my last post I couldn't walk at all.

This pic its from yesterday, after 2 weeks now the hematoma's started to appear even in areas that doesn't hurt. Looks like I being in car accident:shock:

    Take care guys!!

Yes Gator, without any sign or anything:confused:

I swear, I skateboard and surf in my teenage time for 12 years, and never saw or felt something like this. That's why I want to share it with you guys instead going to the health and fitness thread.

BC Hope you had a good trip, what states did you passed?..You know? instead IPA, sangria will sound good, but lately I'm a wimp that gets major headache from some sips:)

Gator, no diagnose in particular (Piriformis Syndrome or anything like that), I appear with multiple tier muscle all around the hip, max & min gluteus, and pretty much multiple tendons around the pelvis......in all......just a mess!!

ssgator - played at Az. these road trips don't help the game.

UA - out to CO where the air is thin and the temps cool. no tennis but weather was great for driving and such. that state has the most microbrews in the country. needless to say i was sampling daily. :)

Colorado is awesome. The first time I ever played tennis was when I was 14 years old at 8,000 feet against my older brother. So everyone can thank Colorado for this thread! :)

UA, hope you heal soon buddy. That looks quite painful.
