Competitive eating injury? Apparetly the food channel has a food truck show. Saw a Poutine truck that looked amazing and a crepes truck that looked decent.

The Poutine truck had one dish where they add smoked pork, pork suasage, and pulled BBQ pork on top. *drool*

1 -As I mentioned I need new shoes. I could stick to the Prince T22's but I feel like switching it up. Any recommendations for a wide, flat foot? Can't wear anything with a high arch (like barricades). How are the Asics or the new Air Max cage?
    -----
2 -Foot felt a bit better so I went out to hit today. Sort of an interesting hit. Met this guy while trying to teach Bri tennis, he usually teaches on the other court near my place.

Dude looks like a total beast, 6'3" and tennis ripped. Ball has tons of pop and spin. Aced me once and I'm pretty sure that ball was 115+ with kick and spin. Found out he's only been playing seriously for two years. I expected to be blown off the court but luckily for me I had a big edge in being consistent.

We played a few games of 21 and a few tie breaks - I think I lost only one game of 21 and took both tie breaks.

Sort of strange, sort of like playing a 3.5 or a lower 4.0 with the physical tools of a 5.0.

Anyone going to DC Jazz Fest? The Roots will be there.

Wow, the new REI policy sucks. I'm supposed to hike the Appalachian for 4 days... less than 30lbs of gear/food/clothes is the goal.

what?????? i cant return my 10y/o fleece for a new one anymore??? wtf!

i saw some $30 vibram5fingers and $40 new balance minimus mt1010 trail running shoes on the outlet.
i bought the NB and they feel pretty awesome.. im tempted to try the mr1010 for tennis. so light and fast!

p.s. - ive been very happy with the Nike Air Courtballistec 4.3s.. especially if you get them for 75bucks using
coupon codes at the MWest or similar. diggin the new orange asics too.. but out of my price range.

I just a pair of NB 1187 for $30 shipped at an online NB shop dying to try them out. still got my Wilson topspin 2 though, I don't think I need tennis shoes for two years.

made this awesome shot the other day. it was a half volley from the baseline passing shot. as my friend says, if he's a mind reader, he'll lose to me every time. all my intended shots seems to go the other way during match play

just got in an order for some goldenset adhesa grip, sample pack (17g) (snake bite, power cord, velvet, syn gut) Planning to hybrid the poly's out with stinky cheesy syn gut. Let me see how it goes. Couldn't find any reviews on adhesa grip. Hopefully it'll be close to super grap.

I wonder if I can do what was only a dream. Fly into Memphis for a connecting flight and eat one of those famous burgers.

Is the place open on Sunday?

if anyone wants to goto Tune Inn's one day during a weekday lunch outing, let me know.

That fried burger looks pretty good. Never tried fried pickles though. Wouldn't it take the crunch away?

Place in SD had fried pickles. Me and my buddy were talking about how it didnt make sense and we were not going to try them. We stopped by afer a softball game and had our unis on still.

Some guy over heard us talking and asked us about our unis. When he found out we were active duty he bought us an order of fried pickles.

They brought them uot with some kind of honey mustad like sauce and peanut butter. The HM sauce was terrible. But Fried Pickles dipped in peanut butter were legit. We thanked the guy and got us our next round of brews as well. He elft and we ate our food and drank a few more beers a piece. He was gone by the time we left, but the waitress had said he had taken care of us. Usually people that do that want you know about it, but this guy decided to be all secret and wanted to treat us for his satisfaction.

Any way fried pickles are legit when done right. Especially with peanut butter. I think they key is you fry them just long enough for the batter to harden and not cook the pickle.

had Thaipoon yesterday at Pentagon Row. Was really good in a typical small thai restaurant quantity. No wonder there are no obesity issues in Thailand.

Anyone have any interesting tips for getting out of a slump in tennis? Ever since I lost the tie break in that tournament a month ago, I have been on a mean losing streak. Lost about 7 consecutive tie breaks (some to good players, some to not so good) and then got blown out two days ago in dubs by a team with no second serves.

I'm hoping more practice vs match play gets me back on track, but what do you all do?

P.S. To keep this post relevant to TWMAC: I was in New Orleans last week and had the best sandwich of my life at a place called Cochon Butcher. If you go there, this place is a must.

It's just the ebb and flow of tennis. Time heals all slumps.

If you are losing tiebreakers, then you are not that far off from getting your mojo back. When you are only winning a few games against people that you normally have competitive matches with, then you are in a slump.
