Meh.... I can get that with a poly ;)

    ----

Hit at Jefferson park yesterday to hit with a buddy of mine who's a 4.5 and played at Fairfax night owl. Apparently I reserved one of the courts that the regular players at the park take over with a group of people. I got a bit nervous, but they were very cool about it when I asked for the court. They were playing dubs and laughing the whole time. I was sort of fun looking over and watching occasionally.

Pure Strikes and cyclone feeling very good. Don't know why but the backhand is hitting the net and feels a bit off.

Hitting again today in Mclean. Hopefully I can find my groove.

This was! Yeah haha last two I have played with the babolat pure strike 16x19. It's a nice stick - took a few session to really get dialed in.

So what's the verdict on it? I just ordered the Tour G from the 'Downs Demo Program'. Unless it plays unbelievable, I'm going back to my X Force Pros...again...

I just got the non G vct 310. took it out this morning with hexy 17g. love the feel of the racquet. don't know how a denser pattern like a 16x20 produces a good amount of spin. but it hits a pretty heavy ball. I just put a couple layers of over grip on since I use a 4 5/8. happy that the sweetspot is slightly higher towards the hoop. definitely made for faster swingers.

only rub is that I need to have good.form or else its easy to mishit or it will be a siting ducky. also, need to work on my 2hbh since i dont swing as fast. but my 1 hander comes through the ball very.easy.

oh yeah was also going to say the feel is like a thud instead of pingy which I like.

    In before downs....

    What's for lunch?

I tried a new grilled chicken marinade this week. It's a mix of garlic, jalapenos, basil, coconut milk, soy sauce, and fish fish sauce. Turned out pretty good, but I need to add about 3-4 more chili peppers to the mix.

    Picts to follow soon.

    BTW- PureStrike4life! That is all!

In 'training mode' for Districts in 10 days. Been eating salads for lunch that consist of: romaine (not Rebecca), yellow/orange pepper, hard boiled eggs, chicken, tomatoes, and lite ranch.

Looking to drop a few lbs before the 100 degree, 90% humidity, full-sun hard courts that are Huntington Park. Joy...

I'm training for sectionals. My diet consists of light beers, naked chicken wings and lemon drops instead of fireballs.

Lol. Kidding aside...I've been training my team mates in clinics. Most have improved already. They are happy with the results.

Adidas exclusive wearing folks somehow don't get invited. Wonder why?

There are a few question marks still TBD...like is downs playing for us, or another team? Or how the players who are injured, or not 100%, going to feel?

I think if we went w/ the top 10 guys healthy, then we'd be a shoo-in for Sectionals. Missing one or two, it will be tight. Missing three or four, and we're a solid 2nd place...once again.

Nice. No carbs in that mix?

Speaking of training, I've actually gotten in 4 days of tennis straight. That's as close as training as it gets for me.

Been hitting pretty well with the pure strike too.

LOL! Do you even give them a hint as to why they get no invite?

my other team is only getting in, if a grievance is won...it's kind of looking unlikely...since they haven't made a ruling and we're only a little over a week out...so let's just assume i'm playing for you guys...i'm ready to go!

what are you people eating for lunch?

LOL. I wish I had that coupon code. Lounging in moisture wicking fabric around the house sounds good. You could sew them together and make your own Sheex (http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/1/3/sheex-sheets)

    downs sighting tonight.

We had a 4.5 team practice, and team McDowns lost the 1st match 4-6, then rotated courts & won the 2nd match 6-2.

There was also a shady Safeway back-alley type racquet exchange, only with no Safeway, and no back-alley...

i had no rhythm in that first set! and it didn't help that we played a pretty solid pair...i had to ditch the old fluoro string job, because it was too loose with minimum control...i need to restring badly!

ohh - nice new frame! mclovin went back to his trustee "new" old frame - the Atlantic Y Force Feel Pro Tour (I have trouble keeping track of their names)...nice new black stealth paint job...you were CRUSHING balls, when we played that 5.0 / 4.5 (is he a 4.5?) combo...i think we starting clicking a little more in that set...

    Yes, he's a 4.5.

He was a self-rated 4.0 at the beginning of the season, but he won all his matches too easily, so he was DQ'd and bumped to 4.5. In all honesty, if he were to drop 30-40 lbs, he'd be a solid 4.5. But his movement will likely limit him in matches.

I love hitting against Kyle. The main reason is I never 'lose', meaning either we have a real competitive match, or he beats the crap out of me. But I never play tight or nervous.

New frame feels great. Immediately after my 1st strike of the ball I realized it was more flexible in the throat than the 'BX1' version. Its much closer to the M-Pro No 1 than its predecessor IMO. Got two more to string up for Districts.
