After playing have you tried wiping off the handle with a damp towel (no pun intended)? It tends to bring back the tack (no rhyme intended) for your next match. I like to get at least a couple matches out of a new overgrip!

Regarding Power Cord, how long do you leave it on your racquet before it goes dead and you have to cut it out? Thanks!

PS >>> I commented on your posts on some Golden Set threads.

Thx for the tip. Will try that.

Powercord gives me at least a good 6 hrs play before going to dead. Really comfy feeling and has good power too. Its not textured so it's not going to give much spin.

I can't get out of the cyclone 18g fix. Its like $2 a set on sale at tw on a wednesday sale.

I can't believe you self rated at 4.0. If you focused only on singles then you could play 5.0 for many years.

my first season of usta i was a totally different player...i never competed - just hit...i went 1-3 and the only guy i beat (and it was barely), just got bumped up from 3.5...haha, it was ugly...it took me about a year to figure out how to win...

I just blasted flat and kick serves at everyone and ran around backhand at all times. Pretty much owned 3.5's. 4.0's took advantage.

Now that i have a more reliable BH my shoulder is toast and I cant serve. If I ever played USTA again they would probably force me to start back at 4.0. Dont enjoy doubles enough to play doubles and no team would put have me play singles.

So I pretty much just hit with people from time to time.

Its Adidas of course you didn't like the fit.

Somebody send me a pair of the new Diadora Speed Pros so I can compare to the original speed pros. Which were easliy the greatest shoe i've ever worn on a tennis court.

Gel Solution speeds are close and the Lotto Raptors were pretty good.

But Adidas shoes just don't work for me.

New to this thread and live in Springfield. I have been on and off with my tennis since high school. Just got the tennis bug again and signed up for USTA for the first time. Thought I'd introduce myself and I'm a Nike guy when it comes to shoes.

    Which solution speeds?

I really love the Asics Gel Solution Speed 2 Bk/Red/Yl 10.5

I wonder if they would fit tighter with a 10, as I need to wear 2 pairs of socks with the 10.5

Thanks! And I am no ringer. Just want to get back to some competitive tennis. I have some friends I've met over the years who play USTA and their progression over the past few years has motivated me to get back into it. Few of them suggested I self rate at 3.5 and work my way up especially since I don't play often. My serve is also not as effective as it used to be. Can't serve without inducing pain now. Anyways I joined the upcoming combo league and look forward to some competitive matches.

Yeah..I'll post a video of myself hitting the wall and ask everyone to rate me. Then let all the TW experts chime in...
Maybe they'll even break the ratings down stroke by stroke. I've never filmed myself playing and don't even want to know how I look playing lol.
