I hit about 3 over the fence that day. I was just practising hitting balls far away just in case. You never know...I could win my first round match at the Australian Open next year and they'll make me autograph 3 balls and send them over to the stands.

Congrats Starlite on your upcoming graduation. Those are the good times. I wish I was still in high school...*sigh*

Zapvor, what is with you and your love for those spongy Nottoway courts? Didn't I tell you? Those courts are an absolute joke. I'm never going back there again. haha. Seriously, the bounce is as unpredictable as grass, and the bouncing level changes depending on temperature, which makes me go nuts. I don't really mind playing at Nottoway Park, but since there are only 6 courts, they fill up rather quick on weekends.
Also, don't change anything about your serve. It's good as it is.

yea i wish i was in high school too.

well, the padded courts means lower bounce, and slower, so i have a better shot at hitting good shots lol. its not as bad as grass...you dont see cows on those courts.... :p

anyways wakefield on saturday is winning.

my serve sucks until i get 100mph.

How come you're a "maybe"? You were the one encouraging zapvor to start up the votes!

Anyways, did you notice that thread "Babolat Alliance calling"? I gave it a peek, and I must say there's some scary stuff going on there. Those Babolites are some evil folks. They even call Federer a Wilsonian scum. And, it seems like the number of people joining the dark alliance is increasing everyday. At this pace, I don't know how much longer I'll be able to hold on to my Head. It's only a matter of time before I get sucked into their evil scheme.

    ;)

A racquet is only as good as the person who plays with it. Granted some racquets can help. You will join soon enough.

You don't know the power of the dark side!

Unfortunately, Down Dog is already booked for Father's Day activities this weekend, but she may show up at another meeting. :) However, since Zapvor had initially appointed me as the “official” photographer for the Mid-Atlantic chapter, I'll do my best to attend this time – so you guys can look your best for our world audience.

Zapvor told me you live in MD. That's quite a drive just to attend our meets! We'd really love to have you for our next meet. However, don't go out of your way just to attend the meet cuz we know how painful it can be to fill up the tank these days.

Hey there. Zapvor usually organizes our meetings. He has our e-mail addresses in a listserv, so he sends out Evite Invitations a week in advance so that we can vote on time and location. He, then, tallies up the votes and tells us when and where the meet is going to take place. Our meetings usually take place at some public park in Northern Virginia.

Shoot him an e-mail at mitidor@gmail.com so that he can put you on the listserv and keep you updated.

So far, it looks like the meeting this weekend is going to take place this Saturday in the afternoon somewhere to be determined yet.

    Meeting in naptown!

So I got a real treat today. jjjosh on here had emailed me to sign up for the chapter, and we ended up shooting emails back and forth. before we know it, we arramged to meet and hit around :)

so all this afternoon i had the pleasure of meeting jjjosh and he brought along a friend as well! They had come all the way from baltimore, so it was very nice of them to drive all the way down. i made no mention of how much i sucked in our emails because i really wanted to meet them :p

so the three of us ended up spending a good 3 hours hitting. it was a lot of fun, and i know what you are asking yourself. the answer is, yes they can play. despite new members in the chapter, i am still last place in terms of skill :( more of you need to sign up so maybe i can get bumped up :D We took turns rotating 2 on 1, and for a while we even did volley drills with 1 up 1 back, and both up at net. to break it down real quick:

-jjjosh has a monster backhand (hit to his forehand to win points), and amazing volleys. i dont think he missed a single volley. oh and he can serve too.

-his friend has my long loopy swing! so +1. turns out she started doing that on day 1. she has only been playing for a year, but dont let that fool you. she can play. unless she is at net. her volleys suck. she actually said my volleys suck more than hers! (not true)

-me sucking as usual. actually even worse. i think i lost my backhand completely. i was going 1bh for fun.

another cool thing was that they brought awesome demos from TW: Vokl, Head, Prince, the DarkSide, you name it, and i got to try out a few. so thank you for letting me switch and play around with the demos. apparently though, i play best with my precious baby;)

so this was a wonderful mini-meet, and i believe they are going to try to come to a future meeting to meet the rest of the chapter! stay tuned

Well, zapvor, I would not be exaggerating if I said that your volleys resemble that of a 16-year old Roddick. MUHAHAHA. I'm just messin' with ya, buddy. You have great touch at the net. *chuckles*

Wow, what a coincidence! My backhand was off today as well. Good thing my forehand was working wonders or else I would have gotten my butt handed to PurePrestige on a platter. I really hope, by tomorrow, I'll be hitting some laser-like backhands. XP

Anyways, there's a new member of the MAC joining us tomorrow. His user name here is Hessam. So, guys, let's be nice to him!

    Well everyone.
TW Meet: Saturday June 16 2007
    ....
Well, noone showed up to the meet today. Shick-mad and I weren't exactly sure what happened as we were unable to contact anyone while we hit.
We had a good 1.5 hour practice or so 1 on 1. But no members of the MAC showed up, oh well.

We might need to plan these better, or something. But oh well guys, we'll just have to schedule a new MAC meet for soon.

All in all it was a day of decent hitting. No Pictures or Videos were cataloged this day, however, the quality of tennis was impeccable. Shcmad armed with his Liquidmetal Prestige MP for the first time without lead, over the past few days has been ripping winners like it was nothing, undoubtedly because he is so strong from training with his formerly 420 swingweight Prestige Mid.

I never said I *could* attend. I have two hours of practice on Saturday mornings and then I had a match in the evening. I had/have matches every evening for five days. With plantar fasciitis in my left foot and a sore back, I wasn't going to go out and play again. Sorry, but you'll understand when you spend the entire week working on your feet, and you're a bit older. I may be able to make it out once the season is over.

Hey guys, I was a "maybe". Especially it being around Fathers day. One suggestion, is not to finalize plans Friday evening around 10:35. I would suggest Thursday evening COB at best. This way people can line up their plans.

In any case, I'm in a tournament this coming weekend. Apparently the clay season is not over for me yet. I'm still a little sore but am a lot better now. Learning this new racquet APD Cortex is fun. Lots of pop.

    Topaz and Sup,

I know you guys were just in "maybe attending" status, so I wasn't questioning about you guys not showing up. In my previous post that I ended up deleting, I was questioning some other people that were so sure about showing up, not you guys. So, please, I have no hard feelings towards you guys.

    Zapvor,

Whatever happened to you yesterday, I'm glad you're doing ok. PurePrestige and I were just pissed off and disappointed that nobody bothered to show up even after we waited at the park for an hour and half from the starting time. But, I can totally understand it if you had personal issues thus you couldn't answer the phone or attend the meet. It's understandable. So, whatever you might be going through, best of luck. And, don't let yesterday's thing discourage you from organizing more future meets! haha.

    Patrick,

Sorry that PurePrestige and I left Wakefield right before you came. We waited until about 4:30 or so and then we left. We might have missed each other by 5 minutes! Oh well, better luck next time. I hope you're liking your *Ahem* retarded-lookin *Ahem* Babolat... HHAA JK

Glad to hear your rib is doing fine.

Oh not another Babolite in our MAC.........Including patrick, now there are two Wilsonian converts. That's just great news. I couldn't be happier. Cha rite.

Btw, I already tried to hit a couple times with the PureDrive +, and I couldn't get the hang of it.

That does it! PurePrestige, Sup, and now you!... all want to convert me to Babolat. Guys, that's not funny. Seriously. I'll give it a try if you hand it to me, but you're never going to convince me to switch.

On another note, try to convince zapvor to switch. I think he might benefit from Babolat sticks.

my post was for shcmad and pureprestige. they were the only ones that went, and i let them down completely by not showing. for the record, neither Topaz nor sup nor patrick said they were coming definitely, so not their fault at all. the issue was with me.
however, i just want to say that it's great to see such dedication from some of our members. despite my absence shcmad and pureprestige stuck around for over 1.5 hours, and tried contacting other members. i wish i was as admirable as them.

    Yo Sup,
I dunno how I feel about my K90's now. With you changing to the Dark Side it makes me think I need the change as well.

I'm having a love hate relationship with my racquet right now. I still think I need a bit more hitting before I decide if I want more, maybe after I get it restrung some time this week. Lemme know how much you would be willing to part with your elite gear for though. Via Email @ pillowrat2002@yahoo.com or here on TW or even on AIM you can get my SN from Shcmad. :)
