    Is it doubles.

Either way "break a leg". It's a win win if you can get out or continue winning.

Bad Dog.. you and Downdog coming? MrHan cannot pull of the "Mom Badge" well enough. He refuses to wear the skirts.

As you pointed out, we didn't send out Evites this time. A couple authoritative members just decided on a reasonable date/time, and we sealed the deal!

Sorry.. I don't wear skirts. I look fat in them.

No disappointment here. I figured you were a guy from your sig. It was sup2dresq that thought you were a girl.

The US Open series comes to Washington DC

    Gentlemen,

I apologize for my truancy. Down Dog still won't be able to make it for the next few weeks, and I'll be out of commission until then as well. Please accept my sincere apologies. :)

However, at your next meeting, you might like to discuss the possibility of organizing a Mid-Atlantic Chapter trip to the Legg Mason Tennis Classic. It's part of the US Open series. For example, July 30 and August 3 appear to be “USTA Member Appreciation Day,” with 2-for-1 price discounts.

Well, I'm not a gentleman (we're not ALL guys here ! ;) ), but I already have my ticket package for Legg Mason. I will be there every day, so a Mid-Atlantic meet-up sounds good to me!

Also, I will not be attending tomorrow (booo) because my partner and I won our match (yaaaay) and have our second round match tomorrow.

I remember you posting Legg Mason pictures last year! They looked pretty good.

Congrats on your win today. Let's hope your undefeated streak breaks Nadal's undefeated record on clay.

Ha! Thanks for the well wishes, but that streak is going to be tough to break (for me) even after Hamburg!

I was completely insane with Legg Mason last year! When it ended, I felt a little lost! And confused!

Here's proof of how tough 3.0 women's doubles can be...I got beaned in the ear, and each of my three earrings left a bit of a...PUNCTURE wound IN. MY. HEAD!

Actually, it happened so fast, I'm not even sure which one hit me! So, no, I didn't hit them back, but we won!

And we won again today! WOOT! The final is tomorrow!

    I didn't know Edouard Roger-Vasselin had a one-handed backhand.

    Great pics!

Zapvor dude, is it just the pic and an optical illusion or is that grip on the LM prestiege like huge for your hand?

It does look like the tips of his fingers are pretty far from the palm of his hand. More than one finger width- but maybe he likes it that way.

It also looks like he is using an Eatern FH grip on his serve?

    We won!!!

    By forfeit.

Evidently one of our opponents turned her ankle during her semi match, and when she got up this morning it was swollen and huge. So they forfeited due to injury, and we won without having to play.

Oddly enough, I feel a bit like Mauresmo in the Aussie Open...where was my moment of victory, of joy, of tears???????? (I'm kidding here, just so 'ya know).

Here is me and my partner picking up our trophies today...

And here are two pics of the gorgeous courts we played on at Ida Lee rec center in Leesburg. Arguably the nicest courts I've ever played on, except the open spaces between courts in the middle made for a lot of lets from balls rolling on from other courts.

Ahh yes you missed that special moment when you could drop to your knees with your arms raised after winning a tourney :)

Congrats! Those are not too bad looking trophies for a NTRP tourney. For some reason I thought you would be older than you are, maybe because of your avatar :D

I know what you mean, I was playing a men's open quarterfinal, at a club that used that exact same fencing system and they had first round ladies doubles on the next court over.

Thinking back on the match, they had us right next to each other, and no matches on the other two courts in the series of 4 (The club was gorgeous and they had like 24 pristine clay courts) so they could easily have spread us around.

They did a good job of spreading us out when they could, but obviously they couldn't always do that. There was one older guy playing a singles match next to our marathon semi-final that was real cranky anytime one of our balls went over there. Made me think twice about those short angle shots!

It was definitely a bit anti-climatic, especially since after a bit of research on Tennislink, my partner and I were pretty certain we could've taken 'em!

I hate it when people are like that, sadly in tennis, the better you get the more slack people cut you for anything. Including tournament directors, club owners/personel, and other players. I don't know if it is fair or not since I can see both sides.

I try really hard to be accomodating to everyone that is putting forth effort into playing. It is not like they were trying to hit balls onto my court. I mean hey, I can blast a return off my frame just as good as the next guy.

(But if there are kids that just blast the ball in any direction without care I will say something.)

Han...hmmm, I actually have no idea what my serve would clock in as!

Jollyroger...I don't think this guy was very good though...there was lots of limping for a while, and at one point he hung up a shirt in the little gazebo between courts (like it was his personal laundry area!) and it ended up getting blown into our court! Yuck!!! ;)

actually i think the grip is too small. i like my grip bigger. i think i am going to put 2 tournagrips over it to get it to where i want.

for my serve, i thought i was using continental/eastern bh. well 2nd serves anyways. i dont know what i was trying to do there. for better pics you guys should look elsewhere. i am the lowest in the entire chapter.
