I think Monday and Tuesday it's supposed to be sunny... every day after that is calling for thunderstorms. :(

^^^Well now, can't let that stop us. I believe that has been the forecast for just about every day this summer! :)

I could play on Tuesday. My hitting partner just left for HI, so I'm bereft! :(

No fear; not enough rain to stop dedicated peaceniks. Got in some mixed at the season finale party for Reston's NOVA mixed doubles team, and I popped one of those nice new strings you put in my favorite racquet, the one with the 4 and 5/8" grip. Had to finish the match with the 4 and 1/2" grip, but managed to win, anyway.

Need new string. What say you? I'll be at Lake Newport Wednesday night, playing against Mighty Mary's team. What say you?

    LOL
you guys always read it the wrong way. i meant that we had tried to get together to hit for like literally 8times, and finally on the phone we just decided right then and there to meet up instead of setting a date. so that was good...

    just

Just want to post here that Nitefly's bbq thing was most outstanding today. i had lots of fun. his house is absolutely huge. complete with...well too much to list. aside from all teh yummy food, we even got to play some tennis. it rained but dried up quickly. Nitefly played drunk, which was pretty funny. towards the end he actaully played well and won teh last set i think. on the changeovers he would walk over to teh bench and drink some more beer, haha. so thanks nitefly. if only i lived closer....

  10. geez, i hit for 10 hrs this weekend and the knees are feelin it.

worse still is that although i won my matches, i think the Babolat APDC is back in the picture. i keep taking it out at the end of matches and i can easily whip forehands that would never make it over the net with my midsize Yonex. I REALLY wish I was good enough to use the Yonex, but I think it is just too heavy for my wimpy arms.
(maybe i am just too tired from overplaying, but the lighter racquet sure seems to make the game much easier and I can put a ton of spin on the ball with the Duralast strings.)

i guess i am going back to the dark side.
    VAMOS Babolat! :confused::shock::oops:

Went to see StepBrothers the movie tonight.

There were wookies, mens genitals on drums, kids singing, licking of white poo, sleep walking, bad rapping, a bad rendition of my favorite italian song, a woman urinating standing up, a dog attack, a man-gina..

end result.. "can i have my money back?".

    That is all..

    Sup

Well thanks for the review sup.

My question to you is this.
Did you expect anything else from Will Ferell and that reily dude?

Will Ferrell has wore out his welcome long ago. His best parts were always as supporting characters who had minimal screen time.

ahh.. stepbrothers. that makes more sense. the guitar hero place was so loud that i thought you asked if i had a prison cell brother.

on to guitar hero. the finalist being a girl was a little surprising.. However all was set right when uber nerd stepped on to the floor and destroyed her in his PJs from the night of guitar hero the night prior.

the prize was a autographed guitar hero set from aerosmith and a REAL guitar..yes a real guitar.. the uber nerd held up the real guitar but it was obviously befuddled since no USB cord was to be found. all and all they were very good players. lots of beers and trash talk about who's going to play. at the end our designated player lost in the final 8 while not enough shots were taken for me to venture on stage. i went home and tried some of the songs on expert and wasn't able to get past 40% so i essentially saved myself from embarrassment.

haahahahaa. that's hilarious. i do have to admit that being good at guitar hero takes skill. i betcha many a girl has been wooed by some nerd's mad guitar hero skillz.

btw - so this is why you couldn't come see dark knight with me. i hope all the 80's guitar music and beer was worth it.

that chick wasn't bad looking. like a younger version of janet jackson. she totally hustled. there was another chick with humongous rack wearing a tight tshirt and spandex. i had my doubts about her at first but she would of also destroyed me. I remember her having to adjust the guitar strap so they would go below her rack but it just ended propping up her goods even more. i'm sure all the nerds rejoiced. we did..

let me know when you have another guitar hero beer and nerd fest. i wanna see one of these in person.

i once went to a dance dance revolution bar contest. as you can imagine it was asian chick fest with a smattering of dupont circle's finest. i just drank my beer and clapped my hands un-rhythmically.

This is why I cringed last night when PP said "Step Brothers is out in theaters." It's just not my kind of movie. After reading your review, I'm glad I didn't waste $12 bucks on it.

    No, I still haven't seen it. :(

I think Auzzie and I are good for Tuesday, and I can come out Thur as well...JRK was worried that our regular Thur may get rained out, but right now (or, the last time I checked) it said 30 percent chance. I suppose if it does rain we could just skip the tennis part and go right to food/drinks, and that way Sappy would show up for sure! ;)

Do you...have a prison cell brother?

Why is it surprising that a girl was a finalist Sappy? Females actually, generally speaking of course, have better hand and finger dexterity than males. That is why they can do things like knit and sew, and when some guys try that, 911 is usually called. ;)

Un-rhythmically? Do we need to have some TWMAC music lessons?!?

    cute ladies. who are they?

is this the madonna and punky brewster girls that JRK met up with?

is this who Zapvor played tennis with this weekend?

are these (hopefully) new additions to the TW MAC?

Just because you don't know of them doesn't mean they aren't out there! It is just like Clara Schumann, who wrote a lot of music that was credited to her husband Robert, because in the 1800s women couldn't publish and make money off of music! Not sure if this is before or after her affair with Brahms, though. ;)

Ummm, yeah...so...tennis! Who wants to hit?

Sappy, 'twas not I, I haven't been that dressed up since my last recital about a billion years ago. I have a few guesses though...

Think you just made it worse... I'll drop my comments at this point. ;)

I say we still shoot for a Thursday meet-up. A 30% chance isn't that bad. Besides, Shcmad is going to no-spin me to death in our Tuesday night match. ;)

Maybe there aren't any great female rock guitar players but there are a fair number of classical and latin guitarists. Sharon Isbin and Badi Assad come to mind. Most of them are outside the US, which is why you probably never heard of them.

Okay... so "Old Boy" is probably the most disturbing film I have ever seen. I needed to take a shower and get clean after watching that. :?

I'm going to a Nats game Thursday night, so no mini-meet for me. I can play Tuesday though.

    Count me out.

Only an act of God, The Skunk showing up, or Sappy hitting a 120mph serve in .. will get me out on Tuesday. I figure all of those are pretty good odds.

    TFM,

You thought my Kblade pattern was too tight and eliminating your spin capability.

Well how about this racquet. 12x13 string pattern! holy cow.

    Nah. That wont cut it.

Though I think the following people are exclusive members of the Bounce, Bounce Bounce club: Topaz, Sap, Xisbum, and JRS.

Auzzi and TheJRk are anti-bounce. Especially with TheJRKs plastic man powers.

still figuring out my tuesday tennis plans. put me down as a definite possibly.

sappy hitting 120 mph serve AND in? why even add that he has to get it in? like the 120mph part wasn't enough?

JRKy - old boy is a disturbing movie to say the least. you should check out the other two parts of the trilogy (sorta) - Sympathy for Lady Vengeance and Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance.

hollywood - i still owe you a beer from the remainder of the bet that you couldn't get over 115 mph serving. i still think that serve was an anomaly because it was the only one over 115 and it was over 10 mph faster than the others. you wanna go double or nothing? i betcha you can't replicate that. same radar gun. 15 serves. $50. ;)
