4 words - ugh!!!! The Conejo dropped out of the 5-setter on Tuesday so I'm trying to line up a match with Bruce Willis that day.

Let me see what I can do. I'm trying to get this Army guy from our team to come out. I'll let you know what he says.

I have the "midnight" blue Benz remember. I actually saw the new Audi's, the ones with the LED lights under the headlights, that janks is tight. I might have to see about trading up for the new one, if that's possible.

You better come to Towers... maybe you can do acupuncture on my arm... or is that Chinese people that do that? Let me know when you're tired of my Asian stereotypes. ;)

JR - Watched Tom play yesterday, he's a pretty solid old dude. Hits a nice hard (extremely) flat shot.

Tom the Army dude can't make it tonight. Yeah, he's a solid player, I'd play with him in combo.

BTW- Saw one of these jawns in Red near Tysons the other day. Very NICE!

Wow! An R8, you really saw one?!?! Was Ironman driving it? I was just going to get another A4 or the new A5 is pretty tight. Pretty much, I'm gonna be broke my entire life since the more money I make, the more I spend on cars. :?

Sup - Does the doc you recommend live in the USA or Reston? Can I pay him in beer?

does the A4 and A5 both have the R8 lookin headlight chumpies, as far as i can tell the A4 does, but I cant find a decent pic of an A5 to determne if it does for sure or not.

Also did you see where I said Double Deltas in a earlier post :)

I personnaly cannot make it to towers or anywhere tonight I am hitting back home with an idian friend of mine. It works out pretty well cuz he cant overpower me and lets me work on stuff. Mainly backhands and volleying.

hollywood -- i would suggest you run around your forehand to practice hitting your backhands. i'd also consider slicing the majority of em til you work out the kinks your 1h topspin.

JRK -- how hasyour audi's held up? i'd love to get a A4 cabrio or S4 cabrio but always heard horror stories about how it's a really nice car . . . when it's not in the shop.

it's not new anymore. it's already a couple of months old. i'm stuck with one woman for the rest of my life. i should be allowed to pick new cars every couple of months as compensation.

sappy - yes it's a lot of driving. but i really didn't hit at all last week. i need to get my game back on track. i also need someone to let me borrow their racquet because i gots none.

give me a call on your way back down. that way you have more time to think about your illogical decision to play tennis in towers and even more time to bail.

besides all my crap is home so i'll need to drag myself home first and then to ask my magic 8 ball whether i should bail as well

Sap and TFM - get it done men! See you at the courts!

Topaz - hope to see you at the courts too.

JRK - Yeah I saw one for real. Very sweet! You see all sorts of exotics in the Tysons area. Think I see a Ferrari or Lambo in that area almost every other week.

Been seeing a lot of the A5's around lately. That's a hot coupe, one of the better looking cars on the road.

Have yet to see a Nissan GTR though. I want to check that out. Maybe they have one at the dealership next time I take the wife's Infinity into the shop.

I try to hit as many BH's as possible especially when I hit with this dude. Also I slice a good bit, but its not the good low bouncing slice one would particulary want. Mine kind of sit up there to be whacked or the hit the net like halfway down :)

Im still in the beggining stages of this backhand crap.

Speaking of Backhands, Striker and I need to have the Battle of the Backhands before his gets too good :)

Hollywood - Yes the A5 has the LEDs under the headlights. Actually all, 2009 models have the LEDs now.

TFM/Sappy - Come on out! You never know what characters will show up at Towers. I was hitting there on Friday and Whippy was there but King of the Courts was not.

Topaz - Come out to play! At least you can still swing a racket with your bum ankle. I'd trade my bum elbow for a bum ankle any day. Your bum ankle does not prevent you from baking delicious cookies either. :)

Vitaly - Come to Towers! Your boy Troicki got the beat down, now you have to redeem all of the Ukraine.

Too good? LOL! I don't think that's in danger of happening. Thing about the one hander is it's about footwork and timing, two things I tend to lack. It's much easier to club an off-balance, misstimed forehand.

Last time we hit with Auzzie, your backhand looked very good.

Just let me know when you want to do the battle of the backhands. Except for today and Tuesday, I can't hit for the next of the week. I may have some time to hit early next week though.

I hear people feel like they can walk through walls after cortisone shots.

The 2009 A4 looks sweet with the Sydney Opera House-inspired LED headlights. JRK, how's your Audi holding up? Would you recommend the A4 to others? I know one guy who used to say that Audis aren't reliable because they're made by VW. Personally, I like the look of the Audis.

Ok, no clinic for me tonight, so I can come. Just take it easy on me boys.

I WILL NOT be running down any of your stupid drop shots either! So don't even try it. If you don't play nice, I'll go hit on the wall!

Sorry, JRK, don't think I'll have time to do the cookie thing. I'd love it if someone brought *me* cookies, though. :)

Alright...Sap, TFM, anyone? Lunch this week? Wednesday is no good for TFM, I can do Thur, Fri?

    Sup...are we still having a meet-up on the 30th?

Aiight Striker the BotBH's will happen sometime in the immediate future :)

I should be getting my frames back this week, so sometime soon maybe we can get together and settle the score.

If I win do I get that Hugh Jass trophy you won from that tourney?

    Topaz,

If you invited more female players to join the MAC (Claire Forlani maybe?) then somebody else could make the cookies :)

JRK: i looked at everyone service motion during the cage (from pictures). i know i'm only good for drinking but you are not throwing your shoulders forward. i say you'd get at least 10-15 more MPH out of that.

tfm give me call. if you bail i bail since i can't get out there. it's that simple. :)

I wouldnt base you findings off that cage Sapient. He couldnt get his regular toss, and even though JRK and Vitaly had some pretty sweet warm ups, that is not enough to get one loose enough.

Maybe next time we hit somewhere somebody can bring a vid, or Sappy can bust some pics of stuff like that It would be neat too see. I will make sure to wear a shirt that is short enough for my Buddha to show when my arms come up

Sorry man, the year of the wookie trophy stays on top of my TV set in my house. I'll battle for a can of balls though.

We do have another female member, but skunk hasn't been around lately.

Yeah, I really like the A4 but it's actually the wife's car so I don't drive it too much. It's a real smooth ride though, a lot smoother than my Volvo XC90, and that's an SUV. Originally we were looking at a 3-series BMW but a lot of people have 3-series, they're like Honda Accords. So we went with the A4... but now I see a lot of people with the A4!

No problems so far but we've only had it for 1.5 years so it's still new. We'll probably keep it for another 3 years or so and then get something else. We usually don't keep cars for more than 5 years... I guess we like making car payments.

Dude, it was hard hitting a serve in that cage! The racket could actually touch the top of the net so I was left doing the gimp motion. I wonder if you can rent one of those high speed cameras (500,000 frames/sec) and we could tape each others service motions, backhands, forehands. That would be sweet!

JRK - never took you for a Volvo driving type guy. Thought the A4 was yours and the Volvo was your wife's - LOL!!!! ;) You're a tall dude so I guess you needed the extra leg room in the XC90.

OK Striker the trophy stays on your mantle then :) But if were playin for a can of balls then we need to lay down a few ground rules TFM style. Then you can come back with your demands Sup style. Ok my demands

1.)the match shall be played with any USTA/ITF apporved tennis balls.*

2.) the loser of the match at closing of match shall forfeit from is possesion a brand new unopened can of USTA/ITF appoved tennis balls.*

    * note at no time will Penn Championship balls be used for either the playing of the match or as prize to the victor

    Thats really all I got.

Did I mention I really hate those penn Championship balls.

    Aren't Penn Championship USTA/ITF approved? http://www.pennracquet.com/popup_PennChampionship.html
The Penn Championship is America's #1 Selling Ball and represents the standard by which all other tennis balls are measured. This USTA and ITF approved ball is also the Official Ball of USTA League Tennis. It's available in regular-duty and extra-duty felt as well as extra-duty felt for high altitudes.

BTW- I can agree with those terms. It's that time of year, so we can play with Wilson US Opens.

No balls that contain titanium and no Dunlop balls please.

The problem with the Penns is that everycan you open the balls all feel different. It the lazy care free nature of the american worker that results in substandard quality control.

US opens work for me. i also got a case of Wimbeldon Balls comin, because my dunlop stash is getting thin

Pro Penns or Penn ATPs are acceptable just not the Championships

Nice hit tonight boys! And I'm pleased to announce that we have another new member, as F1 Tech (do I have that right?) came out and joined us tonight!

    Some highlights:

*The dynamic duo of TFM/Sap spilling beer on my shoe!
*Sap acing both me and JRStriker!
*JRK straddling the net after attempting to retrieve a particularly spinny volley/mishit from JRStriker.
*Sap trying the underhand serve/lob tactic.
*TFM playing with everyone's racquet. I think he played best with Sappy's Dunlops.
    *F1 is super topspin guy.
*JRStriker is Mr. Reliable on overheads!
*Sappy was on fire for a bit...literally ripping winners all over the place. The man is insane!!! I think it was his pre-match refreshment that got him in the zone!
*Towers if FIRED. No courts or parking when we got there, so we went to WHS. That's right, I don't wanna hear anything about Towers ever again! WHS may not be the prettiest, but they have open courts! ;)

    And yes, I brought cookies!

    That is all!

    Nice hit TW Peeps.

All I got to say is don't sleep on Sappy. He was crushing the ball tonight. Two aces, some screaming winners. All of this from the happy hour specialist.

TFM was hitting well too - I couldn't get a game off him tonight *shakes fist* - wait until I learn hot to crush those short slice returns!!!

JRK was protecting the arm but managed to bring out a few plastic man shots. He also hit the weirdest two-handed backhand volley I ever saw. Looked like Pee Wee Herman with a racket ;)

Topaz was moving pretty well and didn't fall for the "look! a naked deliveryman" drop-shot serve ploy. She got to the serve in spite of a sore ankle. And brought cookies!

Also good to meet F1 tech. He had mad Nadal like spin. Be interesting to see him play Auzzie. I hope you come out to a few more of these F1! Good hitting!

    Aww, thanks James.

The ankle is actually feeling good. The little bit that I felt when I was playing I think was from the brace rubbing against the bone on one side. No problem now.

I just was a bit cautious, and didn't want to start moving around like a crazy fool, as we already know I'm not exactly graceful to being with. I was worried about re-injuring it.

We'll see what it looks like tomorrow morning, if no swelling, then I think I'm officially out of the woods!

And thanks for being a great doubles partner...I made you get something like 98 percent of the balls I think!
