May work out. You are going into the indoor season. Faster surface does normally require a bit more tension for control.. the pros string higher indoors as opposed to outdoors *wonders if auzzie disagrees*

I also heard, and seen peeps actually stand on their string bed to help loosed it up. I wouldn't recommend it but I bet you can ask those at Sports authority to agree.

  2. i'll just let hollywood whack a few serves with it... should loosen it up nicely!

    ooh, getting sleepy......

We were about 79 points away from SUP demonstrating his flight ability off the tallest building.

It goes down today Im officially depressed.. or at least what I will tell doctors to get the right meds to calm me down.

    Wookie curses Dodgers

    Well Xisbum,

Let me walk you through the Chilis after clinic baseball talk.

Sup: Oh man Dodgers up 1-0
HW: Yeah, they should win.. no way they can get by *blah blah*
Sup: *Looks over at tired wookie*
HW: Oh man... Dodgers up 2-0
Sup: I see that. I still think .. with wookie present.. that the Dodgers will lose. I'm calling it cause the wookie is here.
HW: No way dude.. no way
    Vitaly: Now come on..
    Topaz: Poor JRS
TheJRK: Decoy of Washington? WTF is everyone talking about.. ?
*beers later and after paying the bill
SUP: well its still 2-0, but I'm calling it

Sorry Xisbum... I woke up to see the news. 3-2 nail biter.

We'll everyone was sluggish last night at the clinic. Busy day for the work folks, plus poor Vitaly decided to do a leg workout and to top it all off.. there was more running.

Still all of last weeks guys improved their tennis stroke technique, and I was pleased to see Vitaly's footwork on the backhand. Also that MG mid does look natural on you. I love the pimp Head racquet bag.

    TFM and SAPPY

Amongst other all the subjects last night. The most heated debate was TFM's ability to eat 3 chipotle burritos in one sitting.

So can we do lunch today for such said honors.

The rules. Three burritos with at least 2 toppings. Every burrito must be finished in an half and hour time and no bathroom breaks.

    See you say around 11:30?

I agree...it is a sharp looking bag. I may have to start using my larger bag to carry all the sweatshirts I need to wear to keep warm on those darn courts! Brrrrr!!!!!!!!

Hey, 1-run game in their ball park, against their by-far best pitcher (if you believe Windbag McCarver), Manny losing a homer because of the quirky outfield wall - I'm not too discouraged about baseball yet.

I am totally bummed about my knee, however. Seems that while favoring the achilles, I did something this morning that caused immediate and severe pain inside the knee. It subsided enough that I could make it to the office, but the pain is back and it's very difficult to straighten it and very painful to walk, even with a cane. I'm trying to get into the doc's office now, but it looks not good.

Vitaly, you may by default become a permanent sub in the Thursday night boot camp. Sorry, guys, but I may be done with tennis for a good while this time. Boo, hoo.

P.S. JRS, I'm a practicing existentialist, so I blame all good fortune and misfortune on the choices I've made, not on any external machinations. You're in the clear, dude.

Officially. The wookie year is not a bad luck year for the wookie. Its just bad luck for the rest of us. So can it be his fault or ours for not being born on the wookie year sign.

I myself blame the wookie, cause it sucks he gets the good luck this year and I don't. Like seeing that redneck win millions in the lottery just to see him crash his car multiple times, carry thousands in his car which constantly got stolen.. and then lose it all within a couple years.

Now see. That makes me mad. *shakes fist at wookie*

2? within an hour? Give me 3 toppings and you can only drink soda. Maybe we have a deal. No leftovers btw. No trying to pull a dinner out of it from me.

You in Great Falls today? or back in your hood?

    Sup,

Potato Head and I... oops, I mean PP and I are back in town. PP has a dentist appointment this morning, so he should be free around 2 or 3. I'm free all day today. PP and I would love to have a hit with you today, if possible.

sup -- don't mind doing lunch but i really don't wanna eat 3 pounds of burrito. it'll just sit in my gut and make me uncomfortable. and we don't wanna think about what happens when my stomach is done digesting 3 pounds of burrito.

actually update. i'm heading over to pho 75 in rockville with coworkers.

but if you really wanna see me snarf burritos . . . it's not really that impressive. i honestly don't know if i could do 3 though. we've discussed this before and i think i could come close but not quite.

no tennis for me for a while. i'm gonna go in tomorrow to see if i'm a candidate for lasik. tired of glasses and contacts.

Nottoway sounds better. See you there at 3! I'll let PP know.

    P.S. I just finished having lunch. D'oh!

  33. ok, i'm busted. it might be technically from the ladies line of gear... but i got a discount!
and i wanted a thermal thingy for racquets & thermal water bottle area, and this chumpie had that.

i really like the MG prestige mid, but gawddang this janks be strung up way to tight. it fires laZerz right now, but usually right into the net.
i'm jumpin up and down on it, hitting softballs with it, take them into sauna... anything to help it lose a little tension. the L5 also feels perfect without an overgrip, but too big with one, so i guess i am going "without protection" for a while. maybe i will have lil' prestige babies!

thx for the hittin' people. my legs totally gave out a refused to move once we started playing doubles. too much exercise, but fun!

Hi everyone, I'll be on a business trip to Crystal City, VA Oct 19-25 and want to stay court shape. I'm a 4.5 player and open to play with almost all levels. Can anyone give me home hints of where to play and how to find players? Many thanks!

Virginia Highlands Park is not too far away, and a pretty busy and active place, so you would have a good chance of finding a pick-up game. Also, keep posting here, as some members may be able to meet up with you.

Depending on what hotel you're in, there is one that houses Sport and Health Crystal City, which includes two indoor courts. I believe hotel guests get to use the club for free, or at least a small fee.

Hey Zap, PP and I were thinking about paying a visit to your country club.

When do you get off work? Is anyone else coming? By the way, I don't think Sup can make it because there's a good chance he might be busy tomorrow.

OKAY FOLKS.. I KNOW this is short notice but tfm and i found a nice little park for us to hold a impromptu TW mini meet monday. there's a BBQ area as well as seats to sit and watch. This would be near the bethesda area.

lets see if there's any interest. I'd be hitting with TFM monday anyhow and it woiuld be good if we can somehow squeeze another mini meet in before all this nice weather ends.

I'm just kidding. I'm done. I'm too old to play good tennis. Heavy frame or what not, I'm just no good at the sport.
