Tommy, you should come to the sunday clinic. Again, I've never seen you hit that hard, during the thursday night tennis clinic, in my short time knowing you. Maybe you need to keep it.

topaz you coming out? anyone else? sappy you back in town?

ooh topaz did you get your demo's. i wouldn't mind trying the pure storm. otherwise the aerostorm light is good too.

    ***screamingatthetopofmylungs!!!***

I'm SO SICK of playing these stupid sandbaggers in mixed! Just looked up my '3.0' male opponent from tonight's match...yeah, the guy didn't play ONE 3.0 match the entire season, he played 3.5 the entire time, didn't even bother with 3.0. But in mixed, I guess he doesn't mine sandbagging, he gets matched up with a 4.0 female, and I get another freakin' beatdown.

Seriously, the stupid league is a joke. I should have waited to play until January, when the new ratings come out.

$200 for both of them... haha, I'm undercutting Vitaly.

I was looking to see what most people were selling them for and 130 (with strings) seemed to be about the average price for one. Plus, the one still has the invincible VS gut in it that Sup strung.

    TFM,

You good with those big ole 4 5/8 grips? If you want I can string up a few of 325's if you need something for the tourney. Although they are official war clubs now.

Speaking of the turkey tourney. My 3.0 friends got family crap goin on so hopefully we can find some 3 oh dudes.

Also I would like top try hit some this week, If not I will be super rusty.

I can try to put on a 2 hour clinic this Wed if people are interested? I would need at least 4 to make it worth while. If the time works Tuesday 6-8? or Maybe Wed 5-7?

    P.S. Dogfish afterwards?!!! - -- that may entice Sappy/TFM.

Thanks for looking out! I wish; they changed the drill pattern on the the TW ones. Have you ever tried really leading up that RD 50 of yours? Just curious

    Hi all. *yawn*

I have a match late Tuesday, think I'll skip the Wed clinic.

JRK - What's your Xbox tag? I'm now on Xbox live.

Topaz - I guess I'm clueless here but how do they even let that sandbagger on the team? Is his offical rating 3.0? If he he has a 3.5 rating, couldn't he be DQ'ed?

His official rating, at least for one more week, is 3.0. It hasn't caught up to him yet. Not only are people like this 'let' onto teams, for mixed, they are sought after!

Though, since he didn't even bother playing on a 3.0 team last spring, that tells me that he *knows* he is at least 3.5 level (he won plenty of 3.5 matches)...and in mixed, he can exploit the fact that the rating hasn't caught up with him yet. Paired with a 4.0 gal...well, in looking at their record, I think we did pretty well to get those 5 games. Interesting that he didn't choose to sandbag in men's, but will in mixed....seems to happen much more in the mixed leagues than anywhere else I've seen.

Just frustrating that I seem to keep coming up against these people...I would love to actually play a 3.5/3.5 mixed team...I might actually win!

See you Tuesday Wookie!!! GAME FACE!

    Thats sucks dude.

And no I have not tried leading up the RD50. I actually forgot I even had it until I went to Yonex site. If you wanna tri it out Ill bring it out next time and let you hold it for a while. Any of the frames I got just lemme know if you want an extended play test.

They made an OS of the RD50 I never even knew. Yonex has a few of OS RDs from the 2001-2002 time frame frame

hollywood -- if you're gonna be at the tennis turkey tourney thingy this weekend -- please string up a few of your janks. i remember hitting with em for a set or two. they are really really sweet sticks. i think i complained i wasn't strong enough to use em for more than a set. i figure round robin and doubles means i won't be swinging em much.

so Sup -- who's coming out this weekend so far? and what are the pairings?

thanks hollywood. i don't care. beggars can't be choosers. whatever you gots on your sticks is more than fine with me. i will also be trying to scrounge up some cash for JRK's prestige pro's. although they are a bit big gripped.

hey Sup -- is it possible that i play better with larger grip than the typical 4 3/8 or smaller that i usually go with? seems odd to me.

Vitaly -- wtf happened to my fantasy team this weekend. b jacobs and j galloway don't even play and my tennessee defense lays a big golden turd. i'm hoping for over 100 points from my two quarterbacks in tonights game. ugh.

i've got second place locked up though!

That's what I thought. Prob self rated 3.0 and they decided to game the system. It sucks but what can you do? Maybe find a sandbagger to pair up with? - for the reocord, I'm no sandbagger. ;)

Just seems funny, I thought guys who did this got DQ'ed by the computer in the middle of the season.... or is it because the combo/mixed matches don't really count for anything? Oh well, just take it as practice. After hitting with the big bangers Thursday or getting kiled by Auzzie, everything everyone else hits looks slow/easy in the USTA matches.

    See you Tuesday.

JRK - your Xbox tag please??????

I just got Little Big Planet for the PS3, that game is really fun. You can make your own levels too.

I hardly ever play my 360 anymore. But if you wanna add Hollywood9826 to the tag list its possible I may be on every once in a while. What games you got? Any of the racing variety, I could go for a good racing game. How about XBox live arcade games?

According to online package tracking, my demos are sitting in my building's management office, just waiting for me to come home after work! :) I get to play tonight, too, so will post my initial thoughts afterward.

I hope they aren't strung too terribly!

Is that GRID game any good?

I dont have any of those games. And would only even consider buying GRID. How is the online aspect of it? does it even have on line racing?

Head grip sizes are oddly shape and aren't as full as Wilson grips. So you probably are looking at an equivalent size differential. Also helps that TheJRK kept the cushy white grip so that you could grip more, again making it feel smaller. So all in all, you were playing with probably a equivalent feeling 4 3/8-4 1/2 grip size.

You did hit like a mad man. I was actually really surprised. Almost a little afraid for TheJRK. Almost...

P.S. Shcmad may have taken the prize for hitting Sup during feeding clinics. In one session this Sunday I got hit with 2 balls in the leg and had to duck numerous times for others. He hit praticularly well, just didn't get the concept of "CROSSCOURT!". Still much improved. Good work Shcmad.

GRID is a fun game. Lots of damage, crashes are spectacular - check some of the GRID clips on youtube. A good mix of cars and styles of racing (, steet courses, GT, 24hr at Le Mans, Open Wheel, Drifting). Rent it or try the demo. I think you might like it. Haven't tried the online featres of the game yet. So far it's a pretty difficult game for me to beat, but it sounds like you are a racing pro - so you may find it easier to beat.

Prob put GOW2 in the xmas purchase list. Prob get a good used copy for cheap by then.

FC2 is pretty good so far. Got to get used to using a controler after using a mouse for FPS on the PC. FPSs are way better with a mouse and keyboard - wish they would do a mouse for the xbox.

BTW- FIFA 2009 is awesome! Best soccer game ever. I'm addicted to "be a pro mode." Game also features live updates of stats, a manager mode, a 10 vs 10 mode online where each gamer plays a different player on the pitch.

Haha. I'm sorry for pegging you. I noticed you barricaded yourself behind the ball carts after getting hit. After that, I still think I hit the ball carts 2 or 3 times. I need to work on my depth control needless to say.

While doing the 8-ball balance drill, I was so out of breath I felt like TFM after a lunch buffet. Anyways, my forearm and legs are really sore today. But, thanks again for the great clinic yesterday.

    Demos are in hand!

Based on the very important rating factor of swinging them around in my apartment, I would rate them as follows:

    Aerostorm
    NCode
    KBlade
    Purestorm

We'll see if that changes after I hit with them tonight.

    :)

PS...someone left a Voelkl string dampener on the KBlade! OH the horror!!!!

Oh please...you're far too kind. To be honest, I don't hit that hard, when compared to my hero Ernie Gulbis. My goal would be to be able to hit as consistently and as hard as him (Realistic goal, huh? lol). Those balls that I "swatted" on the run were hit-or-miss kind of shots, so they don't count as "hard" shots.

Anyways. Why do you hit so early??!! Should we start calling you Andre?

I was kinda scared... more surprised than anything by the speed. After I told TFM my wife wanted kids he smashed every ball to... my balls.

Maybe he was trying to save me...

Ha! Because I get caught out of position, and I'm trying to move my point of contact out front more, as well as correcting hitting late.

Actually, I do try to say the 'bounce-hit' rhythm that I was taught a long time ago...helps me focus and concentrate...and not hit late.

PS...from my vantage point, watching you hit, those ones that you 'swatted' you were doing just that...swatting, straight across, sometimes even down...just FYI. Not a stroke.

So much easier to see those things on someone else, right?
