Sup must have been proud of seeing you take the ball so early, female andre!

Thank God I only do the 'swatting' shot when I'm on the dead run and have no chance of winning the point. Otherwise, there is something wrong with my strokes! But, as you said, I just go straight across the face of the ball, no swinging up involved. So, after seeing that, I shall ask: Am I a flat hitter? :)

Actually, I couldn't really tell from where I was standing, so I can't say yes or no...you do get insanely fast racquet head speed! And you are a fast guy yourself...a bit of work on footwork, and you'd be Paradorn like!!!

So, you are 'breaking-up' with Safin? Gulbis is a huge hitter...so much fun to watch, too. I hope he does something big next year!

Okay, I know you are all eagerly sitting by your computers awaiting my racquet round up!!! Calm yourselves...here it is!

So, Monday nights is usually a shared lesson, but the other gal bailed at the last moment, and didn't get a hold of the sub in time. So, just me for an hour...yay! I got there a bit early and showed my pro and another tennis dude who works there the racquets...explained a bit what I was looking for...mainly, more balanced or head light (rather than very head heavy which is what I have now) and more heft/weight so I can swing!!! At first my pro thought I was nuts, then he took a look at the racquets I had. Both him and tennis dude thought the KBlade or the nCode would be the best fit for me...they kind of poo poo'ed the Babolats.

So, go down to the court, take both Wilsons to serve. Immediately got a cracking serve on the KBlade. Wilson...though evenly balanced...just felt a bit too heavy on the serve for me.

On to volleys, both the Kblade and nCode felt good, stable, and I could stick those volleys. Again, though, started to feel the weight of the nCode a lot more.

Groundies - kBlade totally won out here. WOW. Just...wow. I hope it just wasn't a one time fluke...but wow. Much better depth *and* spin. I don't think I even hit with the nCode on groundies!!!

I did pull out the Aerostorm for groundies, hit three, and put it back. I really *want* to like it, but it isn't it. I just have never liked the feel of babolats, with the exception of the one that Sup had that I hit with for a bit a few weeks ago.

Hit more serves with the kBlade. This is the one place where I felt the extra weight may hold me back a bit, but the serves were solid. Need to work on accelerating the racquet a bit more.

Then we played out points, and I got a point off of my pro!!!! And the other pro and his student were watching, so I don't think he's ever going to live it down! LOL

So, right now it goes like this:

    kBlade
    nCode
    Aerostorm
    Purestorm

I plan on playing my mixed match tomorrow night with the kBlade...that will be a good test.

No, I'm not "breaking up" with Safin. lol. Gee, you make it sound like I have a man-crush on him (Or do I?). The reason why I'm trying to like Gulbis is because Sup thinks it's a good playing style for me to copy (ROFL). He mainly thinks that Ernie has a bigger tennis IQ (I disagree though - Ernie and Marat are both dummies when it comes to strategy).

Thanks for the racquet swing speed comment. I "try" to swing fast most of the time, but I need to work more on "hitting clean" instead. Yikes...

Sounds like you found yourself a new racquet! Let's just hope that it's not the "honeymoon stage effect" taking place there with the K-blade.

The price tag keeps the honeymoon effect in place...yowza!

Sup! Any word on what is going on with Saturday and this whole WTT thing? I need to know, because if it isn't happening, I may be needed for a league match.

When I demoed the Aerostorm, I felt like the frame was making me swing straight up. Didn't like that feeling.

KBlade team may be the new magic wand, huh. Does it feel flexy at all?

Greetings TWMACERs! I am back from a couple months of insane work schedule and injury! Have I missed any meets? What has been going on???

I hit the courts last week for the first time in 7 weeks and my transition to the one handed backhand is complete. Or maybe I just completely forgot how to hit a two hander :)

You know, I'm not that 'aware' I guess? The K4 is very, very stiff, and that's what I'm used to, so I'm not sure...I just know it felt good, and hit great.

The Aerostorm, hit okay, but there is just something about babolats...I don't like the feel, and I'm not a fan of the grip shape, either.

This is the Kblade I'm currently trying out...

    kBlade Team Mid-plus:

    http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageRCWILSON-KBLADT.html

    Stiffness: 57

    My K4 is at 73!

Also, interesting...on the racquet it says it is 7 pts headlight, the TW specs say 4.2 pts headlight? I wonder why the discrepancy? Maybe whether or not it is strung?

The TW specs are an average of sticks that are strung and then measured.

More than likely Wilsons specs are unstrung. If you want to know for sure get Sup to weigh and measure yours. Wilsons differ greatly with stock weights. Auzzie is already thinking of how much lead he would have to add to that puppy. at 57 stiff and 104 head. He will more than likely want to swing it.

But he really wants to try are these old Llendl Mizunos :)

    http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageRCBOS-BMPS21.html

    Headsize: 100 sq. inches
    Length: 27 inches
    Strung weight: 14.4 ounces
    Balance: 5 points head light
    Swingweight: 398
    Stiffness: 46
    String pattern: 16 / 18

Are you gonna do 3.0 doubles in this Sap? I can make it, but my serve is rusty and I have a new backhand that I havent used in competition yet. I'm willing to give it a go though.

I would say make sure sup doesnt have 3.0 dudes already lined up. If not why not keep it an all MAC outside affair.

Also whats happining with the mixed sessions afterwards. Ill play but I dont play tactics like hit it tothe girl no matter what.

    Nitefly is TWMAC!!!

I think the only other person he had interested in 3.0 was Shcmad, but he wanted to play with PP, so that would put him at 3.5s. I was unable to round up any 3.0 guys from my old mixed team.

I know nitefly I gave him rideas home before.

Im just saying nobody has heard from Sup about the other 3.0 spots. If they arent filed then it would be perfect, but its possible he already told some dudes he needed them to play and they comitted.

I would prefer nitefly and sappy play, I do not proof read posts and meant to say MAC inside affiar. Make it all MAC baby :)

Whats happenin with the mixed deal afterwards? I just wanna know if I should bring some chow to eat in between

Sup or anyone else who is in the know -- how many spots are left for the turkey weekend tourney WTT thingy? have a friend who may wanna play.

topaz -- not sure if it is or not but the kblade team that you are liking is likely a retread or remake of a racquet with similar specs. maybe there's an ncode or older version of that racquet. probably similar if not identical specs.

Yeah, there was an nBlade, but I'm not sure of the specs. The kblade specs are somewhat...unusual!

    head - 104
    length - 27.3
strung weight (according to TW) - 10.7
balance (TW specs) - 4.2 HL (racquet says 7 HL)
    sw - 320
    stiffness - 57
    string pattern - 18X19

One of the reasons I was hoping to like the nCode so much was becuase it is only 80 bucks! But...I can't serve with it at all! :(

Maybe I'll try to see if there are any nBlades out there somewhere...

Ah yes, of course, you guys brought the BBQ!!!

Wasn't sure what you meant by your post, sorry!!!

I do think, though, that we still need some 3.0 guys.

Had to quote this again...in working with my pro last night, he said that I very often rush and swing *too* early!!! *banging head on desk* My gosh, I'm so confused! Is it possible to hit late, early, and with your contact too far back...all at the same time???

Quick post to update on Saturday.

I asked the director last week and we are a GO. So just show up a little before 12pm to get signed in and pay your small fee. I'll make sure you are matched up with the appropriate players.

I have not found a 3.0 team so if Team NiteSap wants to show up and give it a try, by all means show up.

If anyone is interested in Mixed afterwards, just stick around. Otherwise its Happy Hour time.

TFM, bring your friend. There is always room.

P.S. Are their bets on TFM vs JRS? I say it depends on the weather and what the cafe was serving that day (fish sticks and TFM is toast).

If you want belt for pics only I will lug my Cena belt along, but it will be coming home with me :)

    Nitesap it is then.

Will there be somewhere and someone I can huck a football with about 30mins before noon. I would really like to have a loose shoulder before my 3rd service game. It takes me a long freakin time to warm this thing up.

Hah, so you saw my posts on that frame... 46 flex gets me weak in the knees. I worry about 14.4 ounces, but maybe its not that bad. My newly weighted Donnay may have just about as high of a swingweight. Can't wait to test it out tomorrow. Are we still on for 12 or 1 tomorrow? What courts? Pentagon City? I am working at 5, so I need to play midday-ish.

I think I dropped the ball on this one dude, forgot my clothes this morning. Clothes I can get cheap at the BX. How ever I will have to check to make sure I got a pair of shoes in my trunk I can wear. If i got the shoes Ill just buy a cheesy wilson warm up at suit at the BX for 15 bucks.

Just got back from my car and I didnt have any shoes, then I looked at my feets and Im wearing some jordans. Not the best thing but I can manage with them for a little while. PCity works for me, I should be able to get there by 1 as well.
