All I can say to that is...you should have entered the tourney! I gave both you & Auzzie ample notice. Granted, you might have missed The Santa Bowl, but maybe you could have taken down a seed or two.

If I had some frames... That is going to always be my go-to excuse. I hear myself saying it regularly.

Topaz, Awesome videos! You caught a backhand overhead and that drop volley that just died! Two of my most fond memories of yesterday. Those videos almost help dull the pain of losing a third set 9-point tiebreaker.

  3. hey that was a SWEET drop volley Auzzie!!! what racquet were you using to hit such an incredible shot???

p.s. - Sup, can you borrow an Aeropro for the S&H tourney? I was very impressed with the way the ball skipped off the court when you used those frames. Vytis uses Aeropro's and one of his cracked same place... hrmmmm. dang "french engineering"!

That was nice. I'm wondering what you used for your signal to the server that said "I'm poaching and hitting a drop volley". The middle finger?

Auzzie, I dont think you would like the Vantages that much. Just basing on what you like of the sticks you have hit with already. I don't think you will get nothing new outta those frames. But that's my opinion.

I would say get the MComps before waiting for a vantage deal. but you still need to try the redondos :)

I can attribute that shot partially to the RQiS 1 Tour Lights. My heavier frames would have produced a deeper volley, but the lightness of your frames made it just barely clear the net.

Watching the footage, it looks like TFM may not have seen whatever signal I was flashing(reason why I am turned around staring at him). But I believe I just decided to go anyway because of how selfish of a doubles partner I am :)

On Saturday you say Seles frames. Now you say Redondo/MComps. You realize how impressionable I am, right? Here is a prediction for the new year... I will have owned and played with all three of these frames by the end of 2009.

    Nice videos!! Thanks for sharing!!

Of course, you do. I always expect you to do better, though. First thing...first. Do something with your serve, please!! You still serve like you are afraid of double faulting or something....:-?

Nice. I am glad the Eagles got in. I hate Romo and the Cowboys. I am also happy my Ravens got in. I hope both teams do some damage in the playoff. I am also happy for my friend in DC who is a die-hard Eagles fan.

The ravens get a very beatable team in Miami. The Ravens D can pressure Pennington enough and Chad aint got the arm to damage with the deep ball. Miami is an easy place to play (there fans dont really care). So Bmore has a very good chance of goin through.

And if Philly plays like they are capable they can wreak some havoc as well

No can do today. How does the remainder of the week look? I could possibly do Wed or Fri during the late-morning, but looking at the forecast, we'd have to go inside somewhere.

    *Yawn*

What's up everyone? Been away for too long. I forgot how fast this thread can move. Man, wish I could have played the Santa Bowl.. looks like I missed out on all the fun. Nice to hear that everyone is rocking it on the tennis court.

Looking forward to hitting Thursday this week. Haven't picked up the sticks since the last Sup clinic. Hope it stays warm... I wouldn't mind getting out to hit. It's been a bit windy though.

Forgot my tennis stuff today. Sorry Sap.

No, It has been suggested to me. Are you thinking about it? I know it is flexy and it is supposed to feel light... Might be perfect for you. What's wrong with the Ti.Radicals?

Oh and TFM, you may want to give the Flexpoint Radical MP a shot for a doubles stick for you. Lighter than the Prestige Pro, Low 60's flex, got great feel, good control, power available. I have fun hitting with it whenever I do. It is a little light for singles for me, but I wish I had it on Saturday.

Nothing is wrong with the Ti Rads, I just saw that these rackets were on sale, 56 flex, 11.8 ounces... I thought you might like 'em.

I've all but given up on tennis, so I'm not looking to buy new rackets. I will however get those new Nike shoes when they come out so at least I'll look good when I play once a month.

Sup - So no clinic this Thursday???

When I demoed the Fischer line, I thought I would like the Pro No 1, not the M-Comp. But after just a few minutes of hitting, I knew the Pro No 1 was not for me.

I can't really say one single thing turned me off, so much as it just didn't feel right. Maybe it was the beam width (I've never been comfortable w/ anything > 22mm), maybe the weight, who knows? But once I swung the M-Comp, I was pretty certain it was the stick for me.

A few people at my club (including the pro) are using the Pro No 1 and really like it, so maybe it is worth a demo. But its a completely different feel than the M-Comp.

  27. that's IT! no more RQ usage for you! (sniff)

JRstreaker is right. this thread moves fast.

thanks Sup for another fun team tourney. i really think skyline's director is gonna get wise to how your team's always manage to win. i hope we win the easter bowl or president's bowl if they have one.

auzzie - sorry you got saddled with the big fat korean boat anchor known as TFM. definitely not the finest i've ever played. also a good bit slower than my typical slow and a bit more hobbled than my regular hobble. still we eeked out some ugly wins and a loss that we probably should've eeked out as well. meh. i'll be your wing man any day.

topaz - thanks for the late x-mas gift. topeezy gave me a pretty snazzy tennis channel warm up jacket. soft and fluffly and fits like a charm. which means my wife saw it and has borrowed it already. :(

schmad -- i don't hate you dood. ;) you gotta stop being so negative. i've gotta talk to my dongsengs and see if any of em are single.

PPL - you're my favorite new TWMAC member. we should bottle your enthusiasm and sell it. maybe call it yellow bull. let me know if you wanna go to circle D this friday.

someone find me the vantage deal. i need new sticks. JRK's racquets were like playing with those giant promotional racquets you see in tennis stores.

    ^^^

TFM - Dude, I can't use your rackets, sorry man... they're killing my arm.

Me - It's no big deal.

TFM - You sure dude? I feel bad, I'll pay you a demo fee.

    Me - Don't worry about.

TFM - You sure? How about I buy you a beer?

    Me - That sounds good.

<TFM then proceeds to McBailerton on Dogfish>

lol. i promise i didn't mcbail to renege on the beer JRK. i'm good for it. i think the santa bowl went on for an hour too long - especially after we had a 8 or 9 game cushion.

is anyone off new year's day AND will likely not be hung over? i'd like to hit. i don't have any racquets so i'd likely need to mooch. it's my latest thing. borrow racquets. saves me from having to lug racquets around. kinda like having a tennis caddie.

Ah questions for Sup. Sorry, been out of commission.

So to answer your questions and give you some updated info.

-No Thursday Clinic. We conclude next Thursday.

-The director did mention how you guys are dominating "the dojo".

-I don't think I'll captain again. Too much tension behind the scene. However anyone playing is more than welcome to run the next show.

-Glad the cowboys didn't make the playoffs. See TheJRK, i just seperated your money from you just in time. Would of been more painful to see them lose not only your $20 bucks but their chance at the playoffs.

-Vitaly, thanks for the APDC comment. I'm okay with the Extreme Pro at the moment maybe cause it's Heads answer to the APDC except not hollow and free for me :)

-Auzzie. I put a call in. I'll let you know what the deal is for the racquets. You can pass it on to Mclovin so we don't break any TW board rules.

-Shcmad. I described you well to others. No spin asian safin. Sounds right to me?

-Any interest in a TWMAC meet? Jan/Feb... what weekends work for you guys. Post to get the ball rolling.

Well, I didn't see the game anyway since we live here. Instead I got to watch the Redskins play the 49ers... yeah. A game that had absolutely no meaning in the NFL universe.

I stopped watching the game after like 3 seconds and put in The Dark Knight. I got it on Blu-Ray and I never saw it before. That movie was awesome.

Then I looked at my phone and my brother texted the Dallas game score to me... I then proceeded to make a martini the size of a bird bath and drink it. I realized I like martinis more than $10.45 (18%) beer. They taste better and get you drunk faster.

*BTW... you should've came to Brickskeller on Saturday night, that's when the fun really started.

    ThejRK,

Are you at work? Want to call to ask you a couple Iphone questions. If you have the time.

  37. Sup, i don't blame you for not wanting to captain.. that is a lot of time sitting around... and I was PLAYING! If were weren't the repeat champs, I would definitely say (again) that you should play. But the other teams would definitely have a hissyfit then!
    sigh.. we lost our coach.
    1. NOT IT!
    2. 1 vote for topaz for team captain ;)

i was actually thinking of going this friday too. there's a couple of things on my serve that i need to work on (thanks for the video again toepeezy!). my raquet drop timing is terrible! and on my second serves, i seem a bit more hesitant so the form is different than the first serve. the leagues starts in 2 weeks so hopefully i can get it down by then.

if we go on friday, you can use my prestige pro again. i'll even take off the lead for you(i just put it back, haha). do you mind if it has leather on it? i bought some cause i always wanted to see how it felt. but yeah, just let me know if you're going. what time does it start and end again?

nitefly - want to go as well? where have you been? havent heard from you in awhile!

The TWMAC lost its own Pmac? It's a sad-sad day. So what's the deal with the drama behind the scenes? Other pros sore losers?

I'm down for a meet, but don't have specific dates - once you guys have a time/day, let me know and I'll pray and/or try to cash in brownie points.

    JRS,

How's the car situation going? Insurance cover it all?

P.S. One of the pros asked, if I fielded another team? I said no.. why you ask? He said, I was missing the wookie. Just then i realized what Vitaly said... if you weren't asian or wearing a glove you were a minority.. unless you were JRS. So I guess you stood out JRS.

Yeah - I stood out like a 7ft tall wookie. LOL! Actually, IIRC there was one other Black dude on the other team in the turkey bowl. That might have been the confusion.

As for the fender bender. I'm not going to give my insurance company a chance to raise my rates. The other car basically just has a scratch, the rental car guy said it might cost $100-$200 to fix - I'll pay that out of pocket. My car took a bit more of a beating, cracked plastic on the bumper. No structural damage and the car is a 2000 model, so I'll probably just roll with the small damage unless I really have to fix it.

BTW- can't wait till Jan to watch the AO in high def! Yummy.

Sup, yeah let me know what you find... Mike from the Factory is offering to find the frames for me. I doubt it will be any sort of competitive.

The weather has been great though! Got in a little outdoor tennis twice yesterday and once today. I would love to try to set up a hit any day, so let me know if something formulates later this week, McLovin/TFM/PPL/whoever else is considering.
