The 27.5" was 18x20 only. It served me well because I like thin gauge strings (I was using a 19g kevlar & 17g gut at the time). I think mine were a bit stiffer than the 16x18 frames, at least that is how they felt when I hit a friend's standard length frame (which he still uses, BTW).

Sup...I'll check & see if he's interested. He's one of the pros out at my club and has been using those things for 10+ years. He tried to change once (Yonex RDS 002), but went back to his trusty PS 6.1 Classics within weeks...

Can you compare the HPS to the MComp?

They are about the same weight/balance/SW, but the HPS is definitely more powerful. Mine (the 27.5") was more stiff, but I'd say the 16x18 was close. Its definitely worth a swing. I wish I hadn't sold all mine or I'd string one up for you.

Dammit!!! My co-worker decided to buy some racket from Dick's <snicker> instead of my Prestige Pros. Oh-well, I'm not ready to give up on them just yet anyway.

Speaking of Dick's <snicker> Do they have black Nike socks? I need some black socks to go with my shoes.

I mention Dick's <snicker> because there is one right up the street from me.

Sup - I think Vitaly is still sick... he may not make it to the clinic tonight.

i finally got some of my clothes unpacked including
my box of nike gear. holy kravpz, i spent a lot of bling
    on goofy nike shirts.

You know, I've read these rumors for the past few months, and while I've been hoping it isn't true, it's starting to look bleak.

On the bright side, I might soon be able to pick up some more M-Comps at bargain basement prices...

Effectively I would say it is a slightly more powerful version of the M-Comp. Like I said, weight & balance are similar, but the 18x20 will definitely feel stiffer. Since you like the flex-feel, I'd say stick w/ the 16x18. But if you're looking for the 27.5", the 18x20 is the only option.

Do you have one to demo? I can check around & see if any of the people I play w/ have one or two lying around. They were really popular 5+ years ago.

A guy is offering me a pair of 18x20, 27 in ones for $100. They are the European versions. I just found out he is selling because he is switching to Fischer Pro Ones... Fischer has such a cult following, I'm surprised that there are these rumors that they are going under.

    Thank you Shcmad!

You gave TheJRK and I a laugh at the bar as we looked at this post and your youtube video. *courtesy of his Iphone*

Your post is a joke right? Cause your backhand loop sequence is exact to Safin's. Keep up the good fanboy work.

    Sup

p.s. your video is still being edited. I've had no time with classes to break it down for you guys. Soon.

  20. ooh i just won another RQIS on e-b-ay! half price of TW! woohoo.

(now if only somebody would buy my prestigezzzz... sigh)

sorry i didn't make it out after the clinic. i started feeling like krapz halfway through the clinic... and now i feel siXX again. dang winter.

sup, can i get 38ft of Maxim Touch 17 from you? I'd like to string up my incoming RQis with multi at low tension and see if that allows me to take a smoother swing and get decent depth.

p.s. - i have started practicing my "center ball semi-circle" footwork... but people at the other urinals look at me funny!

Auzzie...looks like I can get more M-Comps at that price we spoke of. I'm sending back the ones I purchased from "that store somewhere in the mid-west" tomorrow.

    Hmmm, that's a $105 savings...what to buy...what to buy...

The quality is outstanding. Thank you.

I very much dislike Roddick and I always root against him on every match; however, on this match, I find myself rooting for him because Murray is just destroying him so badly so he's taking the fun out of it. I wanna see a longer match cuz i have nothing to do today. If things keep going Murray's way, he's gonna wrap up this match in less than 15 mins. from now.

Roddick has never been my favorite, not at all, but you can't deny that he *wants* it and he is willing to work hard for it.

Unfortunately, his groundies are no match for Murray, and Murray is passing him at the net as if Roddick is a 3.0 woman. Even Roddick's serve doesn't seem to have any effect on Murray.

How does Murray have a MG Radical but with a CAP grommet? I thought the Prestiges were the only ones with a CAP grommet.

I'm trying to figure out where in Doha that arena is. I've been to Doha several times and I don't remember seeing any sports arena.

I think if you are Andy Murray, you can have whatever grommets you want! Not sure if he is even really using an MG Radical...could be a PJ!!!

Isn't the Doha arena right next to the MickyD's??? ;)

Also, Murray is the king of the hustle shot!

-Agreed. Roddick definitely works hard on and off court. I think he's one of the hardest working players in the ATP.

-About 5 or 6 years ago, Roddick was known for his huge serve and huge forehand but was often plagued by inconsistency. Nowadays, his consistency has gone up no doubt, but his two weapons are not what they used to be. Roddick's forehand is not what it used to be. Even his serve isn't what it used to be. Up-and-comers nowadays have both consistency and pace, unlike Roddick.

-Trust me, I have tried to like Roddick, but everytime I watch his matches, I am reminded why I dislike the guy. He always behaves as if he's the shiznit on court. Whenever his tennis is not going well, he finds the smallest of excuses to berate, criticize, and argue with the umpire, the opposing player, ballboys, fans, etc. If you've ever heard him argue with an umpire, you know Roddick has no class, has had no proper education, and has no respect whatsoever for other individuals.

-So, let's see...Roddick behaves like a 12 year-old who had no proper education while growing up. His game consists of just trying to serve big and coming to net after loopy crosscourt shots and getting passed. He has no sense of court positioning or point construction...his forehand and backhand are inefficient and ugly IMO. Yeah, that sums up why I don't like this player.

If anyone here is a Roddick fan, I'm sorry I might have offended you for stating my opinion. Feel free to criticize Gulbis in retaliation. :):)

    Damn your IPhone, JRK.

Sup, my post was not a joke. I did not copy the "loop" from the man himself. Like I told you, I copied it from Djokovic's backhand.

  37. JRK - Murray uses Prestige Pro with Radical paintjob

geez, everybody on TT forums knows that. wut a N00b. :)
    j/k dood.

man, Safin is hitting the sNotz outta the ball with a racquet that looks
a lot like the MG Prestige mid. someone would be CRAZY not to buy
my sweet sweet prestige mid racquets.

    http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=236509

i'll prolly end up using these things this summer at this rate!

p.s. - i am horribly sick and stuck on the couch. i feel close to death. wish me luck getting through this.... uggh. i guess i deserve this for never going to the gym and being weak/lazy/fat/donkey. maybe after i get over this i will be inspired to get in shape and most of the New Year Resolution people will have stopped going... hope you guys don't get this bug. ugggggh.

great weather forecast: highs of 43,39,41,43,32,29,24 dont even get me started on the lows :evil:

Ah! doha final. not sure i planned on watching it, but roddick has as much a chance as me buying anything adidas.

    topaz,
I see you are picking up on the tennis hustle shot. Based on this mornings clinic, you may understand when the shot should be executed. Keep the faith and keep improving.

    vitaly,
17g maxim touch or big ace? Which one do you want. Also there this big dude who comes into the club to play with randy. He uses the mg mid so I'll try to sell your sticks to him.

    shcmad,
you must be joking agian right? We may need to start a thread. ''Is this a Safin fanboy''?

  39. sup - 17g maxim.. it felt great for the 5 minutes i used JRKs tiRad.
i'd like to try it in the RQis.
thx man, how much for 38ft?

Ah, thank you, thank you...I must admit, I had a lot of trouble wrapping my mind around the idea of *not* trying to the ball hard? Did not compute! My arm didn't want to listen to my brain! I know I got it a few times, so at least I know what it feels like when I get it.

And then, I was so excited to see that a livestream link actually worked for me, and then I saw Murray using that shot! He really does have great variety, and a few time just 'hustled' that ball right past Roddick after another one of R'dick's ill attempted approach shots.

Hunh. Maybe you need to teach Roddick the hustle shot?:twisted:

Also, I happened to catch a Safin bag check on TTC, and I kept waiting for him to pull Shcmad out of his bag? Alas, it never happened...maybe during Gulbis's bag check? ;)

The Safin/Hrbaty Hopman cup match was pretty darn good, as well as Safina/Cibulkova. Cibulkova is my new heroine, 'cause she's short, like meeeeeee! :)

    Good one Topaz, good one.

Hrbaty/Safin was a great match. I was very disappointed though. It seems like these days, Safin's only weapon is his big serve (Sounds like somebody? Ahem... Rod...). His backhand is still a reliable shot, but his forehand is just not the same as it was 3 years ago. He makes about 3 times more errors from that side. :(

You know, I think the game is still there...it has always been Safin's head that has been his biggest weakness. Something is just not right there. Wonder how much money he owes the Russian mafia.

It would go something like this...

    *the Sup phone rings*
    Sup: Hello?
Larry Stefanki: Sup, I need you.
Sup: Hold up right there, Larry. I know where you're going with this.
LS: Sup, *he* needs you. He needs...well, you know.
    Sup: No.
    LS: Just one lesson.
    Sup: No.
LS: C'mon man! I *promise* he won't be a jerk!
Sup: Don't make promises you can't keep Larry.
LS: Ok, ok, just...I mean, c'mon, it is Australia! Take a vacation, hit a few hustle shots, I'll video tape it...it can be that easy!!!
Sup: Sorry I can't help you out Larry. It is going to take more than the hustle shot to save Roddick. I wish you luck man.
    LS: Please! I'm begging.
Sup: Oh hey...Larry....you're breaking up....*makes static noise*...must be a bad Australian connection....*more static*
    LS: Sup! No, don't go!!!!
    *dial tone*

  46. Safin was impressive on his service games.. he just didn't focus enough on his return games.. he will need to break serve a lot more if he wants to advance in the AO.
He whips that prestige around like it is 8oz toy. Strong like bull! I would love to see the video of how he got his face messed up.
Hope he doesn't fight like his countryman:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_ydsUCzi2E

Hollywood... are you still here.. check that link out! I think I fought a guy like that in 8th grade. (twisted wrister punching style!)

I can't take credit for it...found the link on another site I read!

Though I have to admit...I'm starting to wonder if Vince has a bit of a cult following. And, even more frightening, I wonder if I'm part of it!

You have to admit...there is something to his infomercials! Like...you're a total tool if you don't pick up that phone RIGHT NOW! LOL! I'm seriously considering that whole chopper/grating thing that he sells!

    I'm serious!!!

I am joining the Vince Offer cult following lol.
I read about him on Wikipedia and all his exploits are hilarious!!!
He made a movie that is consistently in the Bottom 100, then claimed 'There's Something About Mary' stole like 15 scenes from it. Not to mention he tried to sue the Church of Scientology.
This guy is a riot...and a carnie huckster!
    Yet he is hilarious!
