Bummer man. I just got over a stress fracture myself. At least it got me out of walking the dog for a couple of months!

Haha nice! AOTS is one of my favorite things to watch on TV. Olivia Munn is smoking for some reason and I normally don't dig on Asian chicks.

Congrats TFM on yet another kid! Are you a Catholic Korean-lite by chance?
    :)

Auzzie - Let's shoot for Saturday, say around 1300? Should be plenty warm by then. If not, I might just have to bail on Kendo Sunday so I can get some more time with these demos.

Speaking of demos... the M Pro Number One 105 was a beast. A lot more power than my Ti Rads but the same feel. Although light (10.2 oz) it felt a little heavier than that and more solid when striking the ball. Just ask Sup, I was hitting really well with it. I used it the entire time we were playing 21 last night.

The KSix-one Team felt good too, but the 95" head was not nice on mishits, which I tend to hit a lot of. The KBlade Team felt too "hollow" although I was hitting some nice strokes with it as well.

  6. JRK, i thought you had great touch w/ the Mpro and i thought you hit well with the serena stick too. the Kblade SOUNDED good.. maybe just the strings... but i think the 104-110 head size is good for you.
now you gotta go out and blast some serves to see if they work on your most lethal shot!

maybe it isn't broken cuz it doesn't feel that bad now..
i guess that is good news, but there is some messed up ligament in my ankle that gets farKed everytime i play.
anybody have an ASO ankle brace i can demo?

sappy -- nice clip. i saw that a few days earlier. and JRK has it right -- olivia munn is pretty much every nerd's dream. smoking hot + fun personality + half chinese + half white = WIN.

i don't see any sign of wookie in this pic.

  8. the RDis now up at mw is tempting me... ohhhhhhhh sweet red racquet ohhhh

with 62flex, someone should demo (hint hint)

my extremes will be here on monday.
now i will have More than Words stuck in my HEAD every time i play!

If it's still going to be in the 50's around 4 then I can do 4. My skinny @ss doesn't hold-up too well in the cold so I'm a little apprehensive... last thing I want to do is get sick 5 days before my wife gets home.

I do, but it is a size small (though I can tell it has stretched out a bit).

The other brace I wear I got at CVS.

  12. is the ASO one worth the extra beans?

It is supposed to be 50 degrees almost until 9 pm, and then the "warmth" resumes for Sunday... 5 pm it is then???

I can't comment on ASO, but I think those are quality braces. Mine are McDavid 195's and they work great (and I only paid 17 bones a brace). I wouldn't seriously look for too much supportive bracing from CVS. I think their selection is more compression bracing-unless that is all you need. What exactly do you think you did to your ankle??

I think so...it provides great stability, and it pretty comfortable. It is 35 beans here on TW. The nice thing about it (and McDavid's are like this, too, I think), is that there are straps that go laterally around the ankle, and the up the side, and then around. So, it mimics the same support you would get from a tape job, with the time and money it would take to tape your ankle every time you play. I throw mine in the wash every so often, and let it air dry.

I use the compression one from CVS more lately, because I'm trying to 'wean' off of the ASO.

I didn't mean "I hope it's 50 degrees" I meant, it will be the warmest in the day around 1pm. Playing in less than 60 degrees is pushing it for me. If we start at 5pm I'm guessing it's gonna be exactly 50 degrees at best.

Not to mention I have to meet some friends for dinner at 8pm downtown. I would only be able to hit for 1.5 hours if we started at 5pm.

Maybe Sunday would be better? What's the deal with your time windows on the weekends? Are you working?

I got someone scheduled for tennis on Sunday. No big deal then. My schedule is... hectic as usual. My restaurant should be ready to open by next weekend. That's why this weekend I am trying to keep tennis/social/anything personal scheduled outside of time I need to focus on the restaurant.

I see... no worries then. Once it starts getting warmer we won't have to play the "find the perfect day for tennis" game. I'm tired of winter already, in fact I was tired of it back in December.

Why did I ever leave Hawaii..?

p.s. Be sure to demo the M Pro 105 though. I liked it a lot better than the M Pro 98 which I demo'd back in the summer.

Which ones? The black ones with the yellow/red stripes on the side? Or the hyper pro staff?

BTW, I drove all the way to the Volvo dealership this morning and they told me "Your car is due at 30,000 miles not 25,000 miles."

So that was a big waste of time. Then I thought, 'Hey I'll go get the car washed' Bad idea, every mofo in Arlington was thinking the same thing.

Too bad it isn't warm right now...

I would hit on Sunday, but already have four hours of tennis in the schedule...that will be enough!

In browsing through the pictures of Fed Cup play today, I noticed five different woman using *MY* racquet!!!!

    Thejrk,

I forgot to buy you a drink last thursday since it was your last week.

    Thursday clinic boys,

Looks like we have a new player. Former college player. I would say around thejrk's age. Nice guy bringing nice pop to his shots. Enjoy the competition.

That's odd. I am unaware there was service trouble. I was just in the convention center though. I played with my donnay this morning.

I'm tweaking my serve a bit. Trying for more wrist snap and keeping my feet closer together to start. Served a handful of aces, which I am happy about. Just need to really get a consistent rhythm.

Another drink McBailed on by a TW MAC member. I'm starting to see a pattern here... :(

Speaking of drinking, drank waaaayyyy too much last night at my friends party. Woke up at 230pm today with the worst hangover ever. Missed kendo, missed tennis, missed everything.

    Lol.

I actually did buy you a beer per the clinic bet. I put in the most money that night.. so you were covered for one beer.

I usually buy departing members of the area one beer. No bailetron...

    What?!?!?!?!?!

I order the same thing every time and every time I put in $30. So, I don't know where this "free" beer was. Also, you said free "entre" since nobody (ahem Vitaly, ahem JRstriker) else showed up. I put $30 in as usual.

You put the most money in because you ordered two appetizers. Free beer, hmph!!

Then someone short changed. Cause I put in 60 bucks. Wait did we have calamari and a cheese dip. Think that's where your extra dough went to. An engima.

Next time I'm looking over the bill.

P.S. Show up thursday at dogfish for a round. Either or.

    Tennis for Nature Tournament

Looks like the team format is catching on.

Co-ed format. 4 doubles - 8 person team. April 25th. One day event.

    It's on the USTA site.

    http://tennislink.usta.com/tournaments/TournamentHome/Tournament.aspx?T=80679

If any of the guys here are interested, I'm sure we can pair you with a lady for the tournament.

p.s. I won't captain this one. There will be chipotle beer and Shingha beer.

Chipotle beer? You coming up with a new brew sup?

Yeah, I guess the team format is catching on. Saw a TV ad for Jr. team tennis. I'd love to do this one, but gotta talk it over with Mrs. Wookie and look at the Grad school schedule.

Singles tonight at Sport and Health Regency. Been doing well so far. Been up late with Grad work. Hope I don't fall asleep on change overs.

BTW- Never do a few sets of squats before taking a Body Pump class at the gym...........

24 hours to accept the Chipotle challenge

I saw this on youtube.. and you know what.. I want to see a twmac member do this..

    So here is the challenge:

25 minutes to eat 4 Chipotle Burritos, 2 chicken and 2 steak.

Run a mile on the track in under 7 minutes and 30 seconds at the end of the 25 minute eating period.

And keep it all down for 2 hours

All is good. I think our bill was higher than it should have been. Wasn't a bright idea for me not to review the bill. I suspect the new waitress we got half way charged some beers twice.

Oh well. Still like the place. This week. Cajun Pizza.

my Ukranian brother was angry at TW for their refusal to admit a mistake on a gift return.. they kept deleting his posts, which got him even angrier... then TW banned him for a "you s*ck" stewie avatar.
he tells me, if i understand his drunken russian slurring right, that the TTW rules are often applied unfairly and without warning. he also said something about some guy named spencer looking like a "djork" in Federer bandana... but then he started vomiting and i never got an explanation.

oh well, his visa was running out anyway.. i hear him packing to go back to ukraine.
may i take his place in TWMAC? i could fill his spot in the clinic.
he played with Yonex, but I play with some new sticks that Vitaly is leaving here. he did NOT purchase them at TW.. he wants me to be very clear about that! Head Xtreme to the maxxx. much more powerful than his racquets. i am much better than vitaly. if you accept me into your club, i will show you all the Xtreme power of VIKTORR!

i kiss you twice and give you much cabbage,
    viktorr

Viktorr would be happy to be your new Ukranian friend!
    much pleased!
i played this pong battle before. very good fun!
Vitaly was just mumbling today something about this Hollywood
guy and how he sprays the fences on his home courts at HdG with WD-40 or something. Maybe he was hallucinating from drinking too much of the spirits of potatoes, again.

    Cabbage to you!
