They had a playmate in south dakota. Those things rule. Id hit the paymate scoop the balls up with the rolling ball mower like thingy. Its a shame I hadnt figured out a backhand at that point.

Yeah, it feels comfortable. Although I only wore it that one day, and we didn't practice serves or any overheads so I wonder how it will feel with my arm over my head.

It did help me to win at 21 though. :)

DVI - Why do you get so frusturated at the clinics? You are a good player and ball striker (excluding overheads). Maybe you are just very competitive? I've always sucked at tennis so I can't get frusturated when I suck during the clinic...

You did?!? *jealous* One of the first things I did when I moved here was get a ticket to see the NSO...ahhh, bliss! But, it is also very hard for me to sit in the audience...I want to be on the stage playing with the orchestra!!!

I've always wanted to take cello as an adult, and I still seriously consider it. I loved it when I played it in college (had to take all instruments to get my degree, but also had to give them back after I passed my proficiency tests). I check craigslist once and a while to see if my future cello is out there somewhere! ;)

Um, I would remind you though, that if you get frustrated while playing the cello, smashing your cello against an A/C unit is not really a great idea. *eyebrow*

I just got some stuff from the auction site...very excited to have some new stuff! :)

You thinking about dining after hitting?!? I unfortunately cannot save a spot, because there is only street parking... weekends and after 6:30 parking is free though.

Sup, are you going to be teaching at S&H through the spring/summer or was this just a winter temporary thing?

Sup, Dats, anyone, I am loving my new sticks, and want to see how they stack up during competition. Anyone want to hit assuming acceptable weather outside? I can typically take a 2 hour window away from my restaurant from 4-6 any day of the week, or weekend morning before 10 and evenings after 7. Takers???

I'll hit with ya anytime, as long as the weather is good. By good, I mean it's at least 60 degrees outside. It's 65 right now. :)

 I was going through my usual routine of looking for frames to demo, and picked out the Redondo, BB11 SE, Ki5 PSE, and couldn't decide between a Prince Exo3 or a Yonex RDiS. I then looked down at the subtotal- TW is only charging $10 for demoes!!!!

I then promptly cancelled the order because 1) I am really enjoying the Gamma frame and 2) I am not allowed to demo racquets for lent.

but $10!!!! that is an awesome deal... does anyone else want to demo Boris Becker's spec frames???

Yeah it was dry over here. If I wasn't feeling like crap I would've definitely tried to play outdoors.

I don't think it's going to get warm for quite some time. Probably late March I'm guessing (damn groundhog saw his shadow). Maybe we can set something up this week for some indoor time somewhere.

And now, I must admit to being a bit embarrassed and ashamed.

(no Sup, not that, I'm still going strong)

You see, one thing that teachers pride themselves on is knowing the weather inside and out! I bet we are all just as knowledgeable (or not moreso) than the guys on TV!

Yet, this one totally took me by surprise! Both yesterday and today...but oh well, I'll take the snow day! Woot!

A snow day in March? Bizarro!!!

You guys be careful out there...looks nasty!

Edited to add: Wow, wish I had my camera with me! It is a total white-out outside my sliding glass door! Can't see anything...are you guys out there somewhere? Bueller? Bueller?

Hey, Auzzie, don't think we can make it to your place today for lunch. I'm the only one in the office so far, and I don't think I want to risk walking on these streets with my knee.

We'll try later this week. But we will be there, I promise. :)

Wow, that was a lot of snow! It took me longer to clean off my car than it took for me to actually get to work.

I like how all weekend they're talking about this storm on the news and how the city is getting prepared... then I get up this morning and not one damn road has been plowed.

No snow day here. How can the gov only have a 2hr delay? It was really dangerous driving in. Fairfax county had not plowed the major roads in my area. Same with the toll road. Saw a guy do a 180 in the middle lane just past the Tyson's toll - scary!!!

Took me about 2 hrs to get in grrrrrrr.......

BTW- I'm surprised that I haven't seen Auzzie ask if anyone wants to hit outside ;)

He's too busy shoveling off a court somewhere!!!

Glad you got in safely Striker. Things look a bit clearer here than they did just two hours ago, so hopefully your ride back will be ok.

I know here in Alexandria they were treating and plowing all night...I saw the trucks on the road salting last night, and the plows actually woke me up in the middle of the night. Still, everything was snow covered this morning...I just think they can't keep up until it stops.

Oh well, will go dig out the car later...I've already watched one movie so far (The Other Boleyn Girl) and have a few more planned before the big showdown in Madison Square Garden tonight on HBO!

Striker, you do get HBO, right? You know your girl is playing tonight?

Sup really helped me out today at S&H.
he took some video during my hit with the ball machine and of course the video definitely shows some odd quirks in my technique.. but he might have saved me a knee operation by pointing out some things that are probably causing my knee and hip pain. if i can keep that foot pointed more towards the net, my knee pain will hopefully clear up. if so, it will be the best advice i've ever gotten on a tennis court!

got a good workout (although the heaters were blasting the whole time... but i didn't have a tantrum!)

then we cruised down to Sandella's and ate a lot of tasty food!
my D.C. driving was pretty horrible... Sup kept saying things like, "you know you just ran through a red light... but that's ok!" har! i am expecting the traffic citations in my mailbox any day now...
i was impressed with Sup's eating skillzzzz too. He said he was hungry, but he was HUNGRY! since i've now sampled 4 different items from the menu, i should really write up a chowhound review.

thanks for helping out my tennis game... hopefully it produces less melt downs during the clinics!

It was a interesting day for me today. Wake up like all workdays at 445. leave my about 15 minutes early planning on getting to work 30 minutes late :) I get in the land rover in case I hit some rough spots. Sure enough I hit a rough spot going what I would estimate 40mph. The main road was decent but I guess some snow drifted in the road. I started drifting a little into the other lane. Of course another car is coming that way so I try to steer more than I should. I missed the car but lost control and was skidding off the right side of the road. I corrected it but too much.

I started skidding off the left side of the road, and almost had it straight again, but alas I ran out of road went down about a 10ft ditch and hit a tree going what felt like 75 MPH.

I can tell you this about land rovers. The airbags work well, and the engine compartment crumbles right up and absorbs alot of the force. I got a few scratches on my hand from glass that flew out when the branch impaled the windshield but other than that its just damaged pride and hurt feeling over a totaled vehicle. I just paid the stinkin thing off last month too. Oh well im not dead so I guess that's positive.

Also those new diadoras look sweet I may have to get a pair to help my grieving of my loss :)

Yea I still got the TDI. I know for a fact that this car is totaled. Its kinda funny in a sense that I was talking to my mother the other day and said

"now that I own the land rover if I ever get a bind I can always sell it."

Now I don't get to sell it and I hope the insurance company doesn't shaft me when they total it.

When I lost it and was heading for the tress i was thinking I was gonna get hurt. But i Whacked the tree and didn't get get knocked out said a few cuss words and called the cops.

So, you didn't smash your cello? Excellent! ;)

And don't worry about the citations, the constant reminders from Sup about your driving will be more than enough punishment!

Holy crap Hollywood!!! I'm glad you're ok!

And yeah, of course you just paid it off...that's how the universe works I think!

    Definitely get some Diadoras!

Hmmm, might I suggest playing it on a machine that also burns DVDs? I had a similar problem with a different disk, and the only place it will play for me is on my PC at school.

Also, might I suggest when you and Sup are cruising around and I have a snow day...come pick me up!!!!!!!!!! Or at least come help me shovel out my car...I thought I was going to lose some fingers it was so freakin' cold. Fortunately, I ruled out amputation.

sup called you a partial wookie 100 pages back so i guess it's YOTW after all. don't worry about the car, you can always get another. however the same can't be said of fingers, toes and/or testicles (<-- tfm, you listening??)

mostly likely you are trying to play an executable right off the cd drive and the program needs some temp space to dump some data.. what it means that the cabbage is no good, do a virus scan and make sure that ish is clean. if so then copy the entire content to your c drive to load

even i have my fingers crossed that you don't loose any more body parts. your surgery anniversary calendar already looks booked for the month of march

glad to hear you're okay hollywood. scary sh*t. i can just imagine you opening up your glovebox after the crash and taking all the emergency JO with you.

also i'm attempting to return to the tecnifibre fold. i bid on a tecnifibre on the bay and trying to get someone to sell me some on TW. if no luck . . . i'm gonna return to team yonex. those rdis 100 mp look sweet. or maybe i'll fall in love with auzzie's fischers. or maybe i'll keep sappy's mfil 300 forever. it's the cadillac of tennis racquets.

Dude! Be careful! You're my only link to the late, great Baltimore Colts, the team that made the NFL what it is today.

Take two Diadoras and call me in the morning. And next time - STAY HOME!

p.s. Glad you are still with us. One of my tennis goals is to return your heater.:)

Thats what sucks about this area is that you never know when you hit the ice. I know for a fact that my wheels didnt lock up because i didn't hit the brakes at all.

In south dakota ice isnt a problem and that land rover took care of 2 feet worth of snow like it was nothing.

But unless I was driving an M1 Abrams that tree had my number.

Also I was set on buying the diadoras, but then I watched the Vlog and saw the new lottos. So i will have to wait and see what the scoop is on those guys.

Maybe I am getting too old, but I had no desire to play outside today ;)

HW, close call you had there. I'm thankful you weren't hurt.

TFM, the Fischer's are waiting for a demo. I'll even let you keep them for a week and string them with whatever you want! $80 for a pair is a steal too!

Dats and Sup, appreciate you coming in to try out my restaurant today. The snow kinda gave me the opportunity to take a break and hang out with you two- not too busy today. Hopefully the weather gets above 45 (for Dats) and 65 (for Sup) soon so that we can do a quick hit to test out my Gamma's. I wasn't lying about liking them ALOT.

i got the video onto my computer by somehow using nero to make .nrg file onto my computer and then changing that extension to .mpg.

the video stutters and speeds up.. but it could be my dinosaur cpu.

bad news is i tried to download some program on my other computer to help read the un-finalized files of the disc and it TOTALLY gave my computer a virus. svchost file is farXed and trojan.DNSChanger is detected by malwarebytes and i tell it to clean/delete wuteva and it keeps coming back.
    FARK!!

i always am able to fix these things, but after way too much frustration. i am googling this farker right now, and hopefully can find the bad files and delete or system restore or something....AARGH.

thank god for the samuel adams in the fridge. this is either a 6pack problem or a 12 pack.. we shall see.
