That had more to do with the competition he was facing down here in South Florida. Also, Gina may have had someting to do with it. :)

I know the director well, and that is exactly something that she would do.

    *************

My observations on his playing are from what he has told me, and from what I've seen myself.

TFM, my point is that Sup could play well with just about anything. Whether he *should* play with just about anything is a different story.

I call things as I see them. You guys can believe me, or not. Don't really care.

Ah, I see. You construed the "mature" part of the post to mean I was asking for justification. Mea culpa; should have just said OLD. And if you mean I look to the Jack Nicholson version of the Joker as my fashion role model, you win the cupie doll. H.e.r.e.'.s XIS!!!

And I'm not anti-establishment, just anti conformity.

muahahaha. i just love that you drink Sup kool aid by the gallon but don't seem to be aware that you drink Sup kool aid or you've drunken so much Sup kool aid that you are not aware that you are high on kool aid. and the sad part is that i'm not entirely sure Sup is making the kool aid that you are drinking. are you self medicating?

"i call things as i see them" -- topaz
"my observations on his playing are from what he has told me" -- topaz

therefore you don't call things as you see them. you listen to what he says. you believe irrevocably whatever he tells you. Sup kool aid.

"this prince stick hits a very heavy ball" -- Sup
translation == "this racquet is so heavy and dead it is killing my arm and shoulder. i may die trying to win this bet with TFM my korean lite nemesis."

muahahahahahaahaha! i win at so few things. let me enjoy my pyrrhic victory. :)

^^^And I agreed with his assessments after hitting with him both on Monday (with the Prince) and last night (with the TF). Get it? I am able to make my own observations and also listen to Sup, who I think has some idea of what he is talking about.

I don't think he walks on water...far from it. But when it comes to tennis, he talks, and I listen.

I'm not taking your 'victory' away from you.

Don't let him off the hook. Make him return the money to the director while in your presence, then drive to an ATM, and make him give you money from his account.

Drak, you will be happy to know the honeymooners of TWMAC have returned.
(alot of "no really, you hit a HEAVY ball!" and "thank you, let's go watch some WTA!")
It was looking a like "paradise lost" down in FLA, due to the "temptations of Gina" but thankfully things have gotten back on track here in VA.

i had to snap this when i spied it outside the S&H!

Mr. TheJRK, just heard excerpts from Carmen on the Philco, and it reminded me to give this message to Mrs. TheJRK - GO TO ROTA!. The setting for much of Carmen, including the infamous tobacco factory, is in Sevilla, just an hour's drive from Rota. Think of all the culture your kids can soak up while Mr. TheJRK surfs at Torremolinos.

Mr.TheJRK, you know who vacations in Torremolinos, which is about 2 hours from Rota on the Mediterranean coast? Every single blonde Scandanavian woman between 18-30 IN THE WORLD! And do you know how long European vacations are? SIX WEEKS A YEAR.

    GO TO ROTA!

I have to disagree... purple is the new blue. I rock a dark purple tie, with a light lavender shirt and I look pimp.

I'm wearing this tie right now (the purple one on the bottom), with a light lavender shirt and a khaki suit. It fits the Spring/Easter theme. :)

    http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=prod81670011&parentId=cat12910744&masterId=cat000504&index=0&cmCat=cat000000cat000470cat000478cat000504cat12910744

Xisbum - I'm with you... don't do the whole white shirt w/ blue or red tie... boring <insert snoring sound>. Fight the power <cue Public Enemy>. :)

How did you know I was wearing that under my suit?!?!

Xisbum - Rota is very tempting... everyone I've talked to (who's either lived in Rota or visited) tells me the exact same thing you said. I was looking on Google Earth to see how many tennis courts were in the area as well as see what the surf breaks look like. Very nice! :) My boss told me there is a Booz office there as well.

You know what's funny? Today in my Spanish class, the professor was saying how the US set up a military base in Rota during the Franco dictatorship.

I thought to myself "Rota" sounds eerily familiar but could not remember where I first heard it. Then I come back to this thread and I remembered where I heard it from.

By the way, Xisbum, would you take PP as your son-in-law? He's a healthy, angelic boy.

Hey, Sup. Is there anybody in there??? Smile if you can hear me.

After Lady Topaz graciously let me hit with her Ktour Saturday, I'm thinking about going back to a mid or midplus. Gonna dust off my old Pro Staff Hammer, but would be willing to look at something a bit more modern (new fangled, you know). Any suggestions?

Anyone else feel free to jump in. I am a Wilson man, remember, and have been ever since Don Budge asked me to recommend a racquet when he was an upcoming junior in California.

Also, what exactly did Alice mean by that? Are Korean men metrosexual or something?

Yeah, old Francisco used to summer in Chipiona, just up the coast from Rota. Taught him everything he knew about tennis. Couldn't question any of his calls, though; his bodyguard shot two of my doubles partners when they called his serves long. And they shot another one when he asked "Are you sure?" on one of Frannie's (his good friends called him Frannie) calls on the other end. Those guards didn't miss their shots, either.

Too late on the son-in-law sweepstakes, dude. My baby girl pulled a fast one on us and eloped earlier this year with some guy in Memphis. Took all of us by surprise; for some reason the girl believes in doing things her way. Don't know where she got that. :-?

But I would have been proud to welcome PP into the family; he's a righteous dude, and I do so love the sound of that serve. It's a wonderful sound to hear when you are parked at the net.

Sorry I'll miss you guys this weekend; maybe later.

hahahaa. actually Shcmad is right. can't take fashion advice from me. although at one time when i was young and dumb and wasn't saddled with a wife and 2 kids and owned 2 fully functioning balls, i was known to be quite dapper. but then i grew a little wiser and realized that keeping up with the Kim's is a recipe for conformity and unorginality. boring. i'm sporting my new cheap ahjussi (old man) look.

since we all only see each other in tennis gear -- who's the best dressed tennis wise? hollywood is probably right up there since he's always wearing color coordinated outfits. xisbum has his hippy chic thing going on. JRK always looks like he's ready to serve aces and also hunt for sharks. Sup always looks like some nike rep. and Shcmad looks like he's rocking gymboree. who's tennis style reigns supreme?

*Shakes fist at Dats* You probably are more metrosexual than ShcMad and your cousin Vitaly combined.

Xisbum, that's a great story. I have to agree with the JR that you're the greatest poster since the dawn of civilization. Did Frannie wear boots while playing tennis to make his 5'3" frame look taller?

hah. probably true. all tennis instructors if they wanna have repeat customers gotta have their students believing they know best. i'll give props where props are due -- Sup usually puts on a great clinic. but you should also know that just about everytime i've gone to his clinics -- right next to his clinic is some "tennis pro" who i think could be beat by sappy.

aight i exaggerate. i'd never bet on sappy's tennis skill. or complete lack of. speaking of which i gotta play doubles with him today. fmylife.

There's a very fine line between "dapper" and "diaper." One often leads to the other, then the other often leads to the demise of the one. One of the unsolved mysteries of life, I guess, kinda like Sappy's tennis game. ;-)

They are too short at times, too long at others. Shoulder is a little stiff sometimes; had tennis elbow once (from playing racquetball!!!!), went away when I switched to nat gut. Other than that, no arm problems.

Do I qualify for a real racquet, doc, do I? :)

If we are talking about the same S&H tennis person, then she is beyond nice. I could imagine her taking the racket away from Sup and giving him something else. I can't count how many times she's let me play at S&H for free or how many times I've showed up and got free food from something that was going on.

Maybe it was the Filipino connection going on, but I'm not sure that she even knows I'm half... she was just being nice to me.

Just my opinion... and I'm not drinking the Sup kool-aid as he's never said one nice thing about my tennis game, and rightfully so. :(

TFM I thought that was pretty funny. "Keeping up with the Kim's" as Kim is surely the Korean Jones. But what is the Italian, German, Spanish, Mexican, or whatever countries Jones/Kim.
