Sure - want me to pass on your phone# to the captain to see if there are anymore openings still? You'd have to do your best 3.5-4.0 impression though as that's the general level of play.

I'll skip on the soul jars bet - that's just evil.

    Seriously???? 90 year old grease!?!?!?!?!?!

Says the dude who McBailed on the Zap vs. Topaz challenge.................

haha. yea why not. it sounds like some burger legend thing. i would try it. like that other place in delaware where you can get a 5lb burger.

if she really wants to lose i am fine with it :D i guess it makes sense since there is not enough ladies for a seperate ladder, but i dont see them getting to the top

Striker is right. More than likely Verizon has stronger filters to dump mail as spam.

Yes striker the place has been open since 1912 and used the same grease to fry the burgers in. So its actually a 97 year old grease burger. Those things aint number 3 ranked by playboy for nothin.

Its not about getting to the top per se. I will never get to the top either but would not mind playing some singles against some MACers everyonce in a while.

wookie -- how many spots do you have for dubs on friday? unlike sup -- i do a far better job of imitating a 3.5 player. you could say it's almost natural for me to play 3.5 tennis.

zap -- i haven't seen you play lately but from our last hitting session a few months ago i would have to give the edge to topaz. if only because while it's not always fast or furious -- she is consistent and has dependable strokes. i think it would be close though. let's make this match happen dood. let me or sappy know and one of us will be there to videotape the action.

sup -- soul jars? um we usually just play for food. i hope you don't play for those stakes often. you figure you lose just once to the wrong guy and BAM. damnation and fire and burning and stuff. i also find it telling that in our racquet challenge -- you didn't bet your soul. you merely bet the cost of 50% of a new racquet. i'm on to you. what's our next bet? if you bet your soul -- i'll pass.

wait a minute wookie. is this men's doubles? or is this mixed doubles? if i have to drive an hour to virginia and pay $15 to play mixed that doesn't seem right. i figure you guys would have to pay me $15 and maybe make me some cookies. store bought would do in a pinch.

muahahahahaa. come on topaz/alice/hollywood -- i'm ready for you to flame me now. ;)

i have the urge to demo an RDis 100 mid.
i also have the flu, so maybe it is just the fever causing hallucinations.

i am still so pissed that i broke 2 sets of enduro pro in the same day after
    not breaking any..... EVER! wtf?
i wanted to "set the record straight" with acta... and now i've got a million challenges cuz they think i'm a scrub. sighhhhhh. guess i have time to get back on track.
must change my motto for a while from
    * swing away! * <bad shamalayan movie quote>
    * just keep the ball in the court, jackazz!*

ah krap, i just haucked up a lung... ooooooh fug. :(

    TWMAC Tennis singles ladder:

    I like tennisengine.com

Here is their ranking systems. Some feedback. AND NO NEED TO QUOTE THE POST..

    Singles

We have six discrete scoring systems for singles. They can be toggled by the League Administrator. Each system merely interprets the data. You can change between systems at any time without altering your data, although you might have some explaining to do to your league members when their ranking has changed. Note: Some systems require certain types of scoring to be used.
    • The Quality System is great for closed leagues where a match schedule is organized by the League Administrator. It is also very accurate for challenge ladders but does require that at least 3 matches be played to establish an accurate ranking for an individual. This is a great system for USTA Team Tennis or high school conference tennis to assess talent. This is the most accurate system for ranking players against the field, across an entire season - based on margin of victory, opponent strength as well as win/loss records. Sort of a "Sagarin Predictor" system for tennis players, if you will. Any method and combination of scoring can be used (2 out of 3 set, pro-set, single set)
    • The 20-Point "Leap-Frog" System is great for encouraging league activity. This system works well when your league has a range of proficiency among it's members. Members gain points by winning matches but also gain points, in line with their effort, even when losing matches. Active players will earn good rankings, talented players may rise quickly, a player must remain active to maintain ranking. 2 out of 3 set scoring must be used with this system. A tiebreaker may be used in lieu of a third set at the discretion of the administrator.
    • The 9-Point "Leap-Frog" System is similar to the 20-point system above but uses a single 8-game pro-set instead of 2 out of 3 set scoring. It's great for when court time is limited. This system works well when your league has a range of proficiency among it's members. Members gain points by winning matches but also gain points, in line with their effort, even when losing matches. Active players will earn good rankings, talented players may rise quickly, a player must remain active to maintain ranking. A single 8-game pro-set must be used with this system. A tiebreaker must be used if tied at 8-8.
    • The 15-Point Accrual System is great for closed leagues where a match schedule is organized by the League Administrator. This system, while awarding points for participants for both wins and losses, produces an accurate depiction of member ranking based on win/loss record and margin of victory of each match. 2 out of 3 set scoring must be used with this system.
    • The 9-Point Accrual System is great for closed leagues where a match schedule is organized by the League Administrator. This system, while awarding points for participants for both wins and losses, produces an accurate depiction of member ranking based on win/loss record and margin of victory of each match. Intended for 8 game proset scoring. A tiebreaker must be used if tied at 8-8.
    • The Pyramid System is very similar in working concept to a traditional tennis ladder but instead of a linear ladder members will find themselves on tiers with other members who have had similar successes. Very accurate - based solely on wins and losses. Any method and combination of scoring can be used (2 out of 3 set, pro-set, single set).

Well, I think they would have checked there...we've had this problem for a while. But that is a good idea JRS, I will have them check.

    Egggzzactly.

Well said Hollywood, I know I wouldn't mind playing some actual match situations, just for the practice at the very least.

Hope you feel better soon...wondered why you hadn't been around lately!

Sup...I agree with Dats...looks like Quality or Pyramid would best suit our motley crue.

So, let me get this straight... If TFM is not a man..............he must be a hermaphrodite or a very ugly woman. I choose to believe the latter.

wow. i've actually been busy this afternoon but i return and i see a lot of hating going on. WTF?! not a man? WTF? i fathered 2 kids legitimately and probably another dozen or so illegitimately. i'm a jerk? i thought i was one of the nicest guys in the TW MAC? i show you guys time and time again that it doesn't matter how hard you hit it and that control is everything. plus i'm a happy jovial guy who's always laughing and having a good time. i'm pretty hurt.

i'm also pretty hungry. what's for dinner peeps?

sup -- i already committed to playing wookie's practice league. fairly cheap indoor time but it was more the timing. 9:30pm means i can put my babies to sleep and sneak out. 7:00pm means i gotta skip dinner with the family and putting the kids to sleep. maybe if i was more of a man and a jerk i'd be able to do that. you might wanna try the wookie. i think he might be up for playing in that S&M tourney.

    lunchtime tennis on tuesday anyone?

and i absolutely love the idea of singles play (no guys leaping in front of me to play kamikaze tennis to prove their manliness).

but how about this? let's split up into teams! of singles! and i nominate topaz and myself to be the captains (topaz bc she Gets Things Done, and myself because i don't want to have flashbacks of gymn class: of waiting...and waiting...and waiting...to be the last one chosen...

whaddya say?? you know that cookies & guacamole will be proffered as enticement!

that's because you forgot the hummus/falafel/tabhouli/havarti cheese & honey mustard. good lord. i just look at vegetables and wonder, "what's the point?"

so are we on for our team? because i'm going to need some time to pick out our team colors--what could possibly match those blue asics shoes?!

Aren't you a vegetarian?!? And a lesbian? Or both? Or neither? ;)

Our team? Would we be on the same team? I'm so confused, but I'm also tired and hungry, and that doesn't help!

I think the guys had a regular ladder in mind, but I'm up for whatever!

Do you actually wear the blue asics (the resolutions?). I've been very tempted by them...how do you like them?

    • yes to being a vegetarian (will eat sea creatures on occasion)
    • no to being a lesbian
i do hate most vegetables, though (yay, cookies & guacamole), and i don't see eye-to-eye with most men (insert male joke here). so you'd think that my life would be easier if i were just a carnivorous lesbian...but it's just not in me.
    • teams--my typo. your team, and my team.
    • no to the blue asics...i'm thinking about getting new asics running shoes, though.
