OMG...$500 machine or even the cheapest dropweight will do as good of a string job as these expensive babolats or princes if you know how to work on them...:)

Too bad if I don't live close to you guys. Otherwise, I would have no problem doing it for you with just the cost of string.

How you guys like the Big Ace and Blue Gear? I heard lots about them, but never had a chance to try.

    Better than SPPP or CF?

Pro Supex in general is a great value for the money. Blue Gear really bites into the ball, unlike its competitors who claim so (PHT). You can feel the shape on the strings come out after a few hits. Only draw back with Pro Supex, is it may not hold its tension as long as the polys, but its barely noticeable. I think Poly's in general lose tension quickly. Just they dont break as often as synthetics so you tend to ignore it-- and your game goes with it.

Big Ace is good too. I can't say its better than sliced bread, but again the value ($$$) its so comparable to the other strings on the market .. you just can't do anything but smile.

Shintan, you hit a one hander.. I really suggest you try the Pro Supex Maxim Touch. The strings dont move and it feels like a synthetic. Im very happy with it.

OK...thanks for the info. Maybe I will go ahead and buy some of them including the maxim touch. The problem is I have many packs of strings that I don't use anymore, and maybe I need to a yard sale..soon...

    Thanks again :)

I thought the Air Tran always offer cheap airfares from the BWI. Last time I flew to Ft.lauderdale, I only paid like $79 one way or something.

OK..so I need to know who's coming tomorrow and do we even try or not?
I checked the weather and looks like they only call for 20% tomorrow, so I think I can make it there unless JR spanks me tonight.

Zap....if we get 4 including me, then I will go, but if not, then next time man.

I should be able to make it out for a hit, what time are we thinking though.
I have a holiday party to attend at 6pm, I can probably stretch it a bit, but I just strung my K90 with crappy string. So i'm lookin for a hit.

I haven't gotten to play some real tennis in awhile, its been rough. Bad weather/Cold weather etc etc. :-/

I just came back from the hit with JR.

Anyway...sure..that would help my long drive 2 days in a row. Where you wanna meet around DC? If it's around I-495, that would be ideal for me.

    Email me.

    Shin vs. JR Recap:

In spite of the horrible traffic, I managed to make it. I had to abandon the Beltway and drove in through DC from 66 to 395 and up 16th st. I left my house at 7:00. Got to the bubble at about 8:30 on the dot.

We hit for about 30 min. A big help in getting back into the groove. Shintan is very consistent off of both sides and he has a good backhand in addition to the lefty forehand.

After about 30 min we switched to Pong - Sup the Pong game is growing! Basically, you play first to 21 points - each player switches serving after 5 serves.

I think the first Pong set we played was something like 14-21 to Shin. (sorry Zap). I'm a bit rusty, but it felt good to hit and the restrung racket helped a lot. Shin managed to ace me a few times out wide on the duce court. I was expecting the lefty kicker into the body and played closer to the center. He surprised me and popped a few aces wide on that side.

As for myself, felt good running and hitting. I popped a few good flat serves. Volleys are still slow in coming back. A definite improvement after Tuesday night double flights. The second Pong set was much closer when the guy who ran the bubble kicked us out because he wanted to go home. Surprisingly, there were 2-3 open courts there the whole time. A Friday meet at Rock Creek may be the way to go.

Good stuff Shin. Well have to do it again. Peace, have to make myself a little something to eat after all that hard running.

    JR

Alright....I am done eating..something easy as I was hungry as h*ll on the way back home..kept thinking about food ;D

Anyway...yeah I was glad that JR somehow managed to get to the place on time...I mean..ON TIME!!..We were almost ready to find somewhere outdoors with the lights if he couldn't make it.

My driving was smooth..I used 29 all the way to the 16th Street and it wasn't bad at all..probably good 45 mins from my place.

We sure had some good hitting. It's always hard to hit against someone you've never played...and I am pretty sure JR had a hard time dealing with my lefty shots in the beginning!!

I think we both hit the ball O.K, and served pretty good, but man...JR hit some flat as heck first serves that were difficult to return....I hope he's not gonna hit it consistently!!

And yeah.."THE PONG"...since we didn't have enough time to play a whole set...JR introduced me to this game which has been one of the hottest trends in NOVA??...yeah..first thing came to my mind was the Amex commercial a few years ago where Roddick was playing against the..PONG... oh well...this was a different game and I was glad.

It was great..though. I hope I gave JR some good warm ups for his brutal tennis schedule tomorrow!!! Good luck, man!!

We'll do it again soon. I am up for the meet anytime anywhere..come on people!!

By the way, glad to hear the two-person TW MAC meet went as planned. Most outstanding, gentlemen (One of zapvor's favorite lines).

    That's great.

BTW, JR flat serve was as fast as your backhand. Over the limit..by 30 miles at least.

haha, is my backhand that fast? JR's serves are pretty darn good from what I remember 2 years ago. Back in the days when JR used to play with a Wilson and I used to have a 1-handed backhand, him and I played a couple times on green clay. I'm sure you did a 'most outstanding' job today in helping JR get back to his old glory days. ;)
