Dagger to the heart, Should have brushed up on my league rules before my match today. I was playing awfully with my Gamma's (this is now becoming common). Bad serving, missing groundies, and of course no power from the frame to make anything respectable. Ended up losing my first set 6-4. I was missing every other shot too.

Anyway, before I went to the match, I decided to take my sisters frame with me (Prince Triple Threat Rebel strung with nylon). Played the second set with the Rebel. Ended up easily taking the second set. Didn't really have to do much work other than retrieve. I won it: 6-2.

The other guy was feeling it. Missing alot more, and I was running him around. Anyway, we went to a deciding tiebreak. And I got my captain motioning to me that there is only 5 minutes left. We play 5 points, all on serve, when the match was called. I was getting ready to serve at 2-3 down in the tiebreak. So we get booted off the court, and I find out that he wins the match (even if I won more games, blah blah) because if he is ahead in the tiebreak and time is called, then the tiebreak goes to the person leading in points.

I was thinking when playing that if he was leading, that it may count as an extra game for him, but the match would still be decided by the fact that I won more games.

Apparently, if I had done anything differently I would have won, such as : stalled after the second set was finished, purposely lost an extra game in the second set just to prolong that set, either played one less point in the tiebreak (evening the score at 2-2), or played one more point in the tiebreak and won that point (evening the score at 3-3).

So all in all I am extremely disappointed. My captain was happy though, because it "helps my rating, and the team already won".

I gotta find some string that I can play with or else... I may be back on the promiscuous racquet roller coaster.

    Coupla things:

#1 - this is why timed matches can drive a person nuts. IMO, you did the right thing...you just played. If you start playing the time, then you can really mess up your game IMO. I've tried it, and it never works. I've had partners insist upon it, and it makes me sick to my stomach. It was bad luck that you ran out of time when you did. I lost a singles match like that last year.

#2 - that score, though, should help alleviate any worries about the DQ, so hopefully you can just relax and start firing away!

My bad; thought I heard you say you wanted to be Nurse Elle, bringing the bad stuff in the hypodermic.

But this is Wonderland; you can be anyone you wish. I'll edit the above. :) But remember, Uma has ugly toes.

Spoiler alert: these movies are absolutely NOT to be watched in the same building with small children. While they are great fun for adults, children will not benefit from the adults themes and other such.

It's actually a 2-part love story, kinda like Romeo and Juliet but different.

Guess Reston is like stepford... minus the robotic wives. LOL!

I'm fine now - feeling 100%. The crash and the car pain are not related (thank god). I didn't hit my head. They did a scan just to make sure.

The car is still a bit bashed up. I'm set to take it to the body shop for an appraisal.

Took Dee and Bri down to the waterfront today (Mother's day dinner) and I think I found my perfect car while walking around:

And yes, Kill Bill movies are *NOT* for the squeamish or the young!

Thanks for organizing PPL aka Sup jr.
You have now witnessed why spry cricket and I do not play well as a team, way too much fighting, but you guys were playing realy well. Hollywood was dropping bombs and you were putting away the volleys, along with serving well yourself.
You are another true TWMAC sandbagger.
I am glad you are following in the footsteps of HW's friend and going on a walkabout. I think that was the most random thing I have seen in a long time, and I still cannot figure out why he was carrying his racket with him. Maby a part of the whole spiritual journey thing.

omg. you guys are freakin hilarious. and perhaps have a bit too much time on your hands(?)....that or just a huge folder full of ridiculous pictures....or maybe both.

I'm up for wine tasting in JRStriker's dream car inside of a tent next to Xisbum's pool while holding a hot pocket.

JRS, on the way home from school, my pops and witnessed about 10 of those things passing us on the left lane one after another. I think they were having a meet somewhere. I think they're good lookin' but I don't think you would survive if someone comes crashing you from the side at more than 15 mph.

Personally, I think it is high time we've drank wine and spirits and 'christened' Dats' new place! Plus, if we come to him, then he won't have to move to us and will keep that knee still!

Dats...whaddya say? Friday happy hour at your place? Skunk will bring the hot pockets! I'll bring the wine-in-a-box!!!

***I would totally volunteer my place, except it is very, very tiny. Cute, but tiny.***

Those T-Rex look fast as hell!

Bet they are plenty of fun on the track, but I'm betting you get crushed by a semi that didn't see you on the beltway. Still, I'd rather get hit in one of these than sitting on a motorcycle - at least you have a little bit of steel and carbon fiber in the way.

Looked it up on the internet. These things cost $50,000 - massively expensive toy.

    Hey dresq,

I am assuming you are looking for a 66-77 Bronco. thats the one like in your pick. after 77 they went with the bronco2 which was bigger and was more in line with a full size blazer.

Does engine size matter? I don't think they started putting V8s in the bronco until 69. This guy in delaware has on up on the bay with a 5.0 out of a 90. go to the bay and look up item # 330328827434 not sure if you want big 35 inch tires or not though.

Ill do some lokkin and see what I can find. My Mom uncles used to have about 5 of these things.

A full spot on restoration car can be purchased for around 23k. that would be immaculate, and i personnaly wouldnt go over that price. But the deals can be found in 8-10g's which will probably need only cosmetics stuff.

The best thing about the older vehicles is that are easy to work on, and the mechanics actually enjoy doin the work.

u sure you dont want an old scout 80 :)

what an exhausting day! 5+ hours of tennis and mother's day dinner. i just want to drink a beer and pass out.

hw, hw's friend, jjjosh, mrs jjjosh, alice, nitefly, tim - thanks for coming out. it was a lot of fun. we should do it again sometime. maybe next time we can all go up to hw's place again and have that day of tennis, beers, and crabs we were talking about.

sorry, we didnt bring cameras and camcorders so we got nothing to show for it. :(

alice - it was fun playing singles. sorry we couldnt get that second set in. anytime you want to play again, just let me know.

hw - thanks for the fun set. but man i suck. at 5-5, i think i shanked every single return on your serve. it was still fun though, at your match point that little kid just walking into our court taking his time having no idea what was going on. it was actually pretty amusing.

off topic - anyone doing anything tuesday during the day? i think i may call in sick so i'll need something to do. :p

  27. auzz can you hit on tuesday morning?

    it was like this:

    go to :28 seconds in....

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPSXIltT0Bs

but fortunately, just my weight on it.
if the weather can be counted on... we can definitely do something
    at my place.
dunno if it would be better or worse that "ol lady" is gonna be gone 2 out of next 3 weekends. i could use her help since i have to take stairs slow right now. (usually carrying dog and beer and wearing multiple knee braces!)

so.. let's continue discussing when i sober up and check the forecast.
but when people show up with beer, they usually don't get turned away.

Auz, u should've bought the XXXtremez when you had the chance. now I am thinking i need to keep all 4 around just in case i never find the right string/tension with the TF320s. I have plenty of time to tinker now!

I think that guy gets excited when he has more people to talk to than me and his family. The walk itself wasnt odd, but the fact he carried his racket was mos def not normal.

And yes I'm serious about the buffalo. If any of you know anyone around that wants some buffalo. This guy i work is trying to get rid of a some. He has pretty much raised the herd from when they were young and does't want to see them get slaughtered. Hes got a couple babies one that weigh around 300lb. He would like to find homes for them before they get too big and tough to move.

There a couple more around the 1300 range and I think he said the Papa Buffalo is around 1700 lb. He said slaughtering is the last option at which point he would charge around 3 bucks a pound for the meat. A 1200lb buffalo will net around 600lbs of meat in case you were wondering.

But yes if you know someone who wants some buffalo I know the guy you need to talk to. I mean you don't want to see a baby buffalo without a home do you :)

PS that is not the guys actual Buffalo.

Nice pics dude. A guy died was I was in south dakota cuz he came around a corner goin too fast on a harley and smashed into a buffalo.

They guy sold one for meat and he said that one was the most aggresive of the bunch.

He said the baby girl buffalo is so nice and even tempered though.

To me a buffalo looks smart, I know they are not but they look it. I guess thats why sioux respect the buffalo so much.

Also Alice does that pool have a diving board? If so I will challenge and defeat any and all TWMacers in a splash competition. I still have the text book technique from my 12yr old YMCA hiugh dive days

I should probably go to sleep now. But i figure ill flood this page with pics and make it tough for everybody to load :)

Check my swing out. Typically one would like to drive the back hip through a bit more. But I used to be pretty good at hitting a baseball. Im gonna start thread with this pic and see howmany people flame it. I was gonna put it in tips/instruction, but it actually has the tennis qualifier in front. Im not even drunk yet Im rambling about like a drunk dude.

Also I really like that shirt, but After I moved I cant find it anymore. I think my lesbian Ex girlfriend must have it. Butshe wont talk to me anymore afetr texted her asking her to send me some hot bikini pics of herself (which she had done in the past). Except this time she decided to lend her phone to her girlfriend. Her girlfriend BTW looks like a 15yr old dude. So I guess my Nautica surfboard shirt is gone forever :(

JRS is off to get the autobody estimate. (hoping it's totaled - sort of).

Alice - looking at the cool blue pool, I want to go camping in wonderland.

Man - too much 'ish going on for me. Looks I'm going to have to trim back the tennis this week - Computer Security final is due this weekend, have to study up - *sigh.* Still deciding if I want to sign up for this punishment over the summer - only 9 credits left.

PPL - we can finish out the match this week if we can meet up around 3-ish on a day with good weather. Tuesday is a no-go for me though.

    Later.

Working every morning this week. I can probably swing an afternoon though especially for a ladder match.

I will not be watching that video fyi. If it is a knee injury, I know the pain.

I am not giving up on the Gamma's, I think I just need to stop this full poly stuff. I never liked it before, and in hindsight am wondering why I am trying it ruthlessly in a frame that has no power. Playing with my sister's frame yesterday, I didn't love it, but my serve came back, and I had more feel on shots. I think I am going to go back to hybrids. Hopefully that gets me back to normal.

Sup, I have a match tomorrow at 8 at Worldgate. Any chance I can get a frame restrung by then? Let me know if you are at S&H today.

*yawn* morning TWMAC. what a great tennis weekend. i got to play for a couple of hours on saturday and last night i got another 3 hours in. sweetness.

how did this thread degenerate into discussions about old azz broncos, knee injuries and sappy's cousins the buffalo?

hollywood -- many years ago in hawaii, one of my buddies had an old bronco. definitely not the original so it must've been the bronco II. regardless - i LOVED his car. used to borrow it all the time. manual, roomy, comfortable drive. at the time i had a honda CRX and then traded it in for a RX-7 gen 2 turbo. for weeks at a time i'd trade cars with him just to drive his bronco. they really are great. similar in feel was my other friend's original toyota land cruiser. not the mall machine of the current generation.

auzzie -- normally i would smell blood in the water with your recent woes with your gamma g325s and offer to buy them off you. but i am for the moment cured. i really really like my yonex rds 001 mp. sadly it popped last night after 3 sets. must buy more.

Have you thought of putting the poly in the crosses instead of the mains? While you don't need to go full out & put Gut in the mains, you could at least try a good soft multi.

Durability, along with no power, are options Auzzie has been requesting for about a year.

so i may recommend weed wacker wire. cheap and it comes it many colors.

Auz, its been almost a year since you first came out to hit with me. your twmac debut. I need to find my post about it. I'm thinking I commented more on your sweating than your game.

Not my pool; in Mick Dundee lingo, belongdaalice. :) X does NOT mark the spot when the water is deeper than 2 feet.

Still playing tennis in running shoes? How do you like your assignment in the TWMAC Deadly Viper Tennis squad (Elle Driver/California Mountain Snake)?

Cool duds, dude. Might add a bit more color to the shorts and socks, but you're definitely on the right track.

Hey, I could always hit a baseball/softball, too. Singles and doubles guy; set the table for you power hitters. :)

Actually, I was thinking of making an avatar for each TWMAC member (similar to my current one), but I'm missing 'footage' for many peeps. Then I could be a different TWMAC member every day!

What can I say...I need some distractions.

I'm curious why he cares about durability. He doesn't seem to use a racket long enough to get the grip dirty, let alone break a string...
