Not to mention one of the most ****-erotic movies of its time despite being a great recruiting ad for the Navy... too bad they high-lighted oiled up beach volleyball as a perk instead of scrubbing a mess deck!

Speaking of homefield... I hit up at baker park yesterday. Awesome weather for hititng balls! Too bad my first outing for my league match was alot rougher than I expected :/ I swear semi-competitive tennis is much easier when I had 2 good ankles and was 40lbs lighter ha!

Anyone getting out for some hits this week?

Allie, who are you waving at? Why are your opponents both at the baseline?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

Have a funny feeling that Sappy may cut and paste that image into his new avatar.

p.s. I think it looks like a dance that Deon Sanders would do after a touchdown.

sunday might be a little tougher because i have family activities that night. i'll probably be able to play around noon though.

we were warming up and the girls wanted to hit some volleys. i accidently hit a ball at alice's head  you can see the ball in the first pic. sorry alice!

sup - jjjosh just told me a new nike tip. 50 bucks for breathe cage 2's. i'm going to try to check it out sometime this week. i like the breathe cage 1's ever since hw taught me how to tie the laces.

I almost shed a tear of joy. If you buy, I'm buying more stock in PPL's tennis future.

    sup, nice stuff... outlets again?
J was just there and her report back was "they have NO tennis stuff".
    hrmmm, very suspicious!
she was at potomac mills though. which blowz.

UPS arriving today with 4 new sticks. its like christmas. oh goody!

i played my drunken doubles match with the YYrqis. it was bizarre... i could place my practice serves on a dime and the kicked up nicely. then i start serving in the match and i double fault twice, then while trying to hit a soft spin serve out wide, i ace them down the T. then double fault... then ace.
it was awful. but eventually i was at least able to put them in the box.
i have a feeling once the match started the Twisted Wrister came back. when i am relaxed, i can do serious damage with that stick.

oh well, it got me through 1 match, now back to XXXtreme tennis!

Noon works for me if it works for you. Which place do you prefer? Nottoway is closer to my home, but it also gets crowded at times.

I see the ball in the first frame, and it looks like Allie has it tracked right to the center of her strings. Then I can't pick up the ball at all in the next 3 frames. Wot happened? Did it get tangled in her hair?

Sup - have they inducted you into the Nike hall of fame yet??

PPL - Were is that Nike deal at? I've almost worn thorugh my cages again... at least the right shoe.

Any spoccer fans here? I'm thinking of going to the US vs. Honduras game at RFK in July. Also - US is playing Italy today. First game since we played them to a 1-1 tie in the world cup.

    Misc......

-Murray for the win at Queens. First Brit to win it in something like 70 yrs. Betting he'll be Sir Andrew Murray pretty soon. They may even make him king if he wins Wimby.

-It is me, or does Wimby and the FO feel like they are scheduled too close together????

    JRS,

I have more purchases but haven't taken pictures. I also haven't gone on my summer shoe purchase binge yet.

PPL prob got them at the nike outlet or the "other store" we cannot mention. Call me and I'll help you out. As long as you do me one favor. Burn those hideous adidas shorts you wear every blue moon. I must be a witness.

I'm a soccer fan! My uncle played professionally. They wanted me to follow in his footsteps, but I decided on tennis instead. *shrug*. Anyways. I'm all U.S. and freak-in A.. unless they are playing Italy. Then ..it's every man for himself.

The World Cup was magical for me!!!

p.s. I never had any of any pro tennis sessions, back in the day, interrupted like this!

Figured you were a fan of the Azzurri.

I'll let you know if I'm going to the Gold-cup game at RFK (US vs. Honduras). May have some other soccer fan peeps going with me.

We'll talk on the shoes. Don't mind getting rid of those Adidas shorts, but my allowance is going to some tech upgrades, so burning the Adidas shorts is a bit too expensive for me at this time....

BTW- JRK, Magma, H-Dub: Try Prototype for the Xbox 360. Tons of fun.

Dats - Let me know if you want to try out those new Extremes... I won't be home until 7-ish though. I haven't hit a tennis ball since Sup's clinic 2 weeks ago.

JRstriker - That game looks pretty cool... I haven't played my Xbox in forever. I get caught up playing bartender when I get home. I do play a ton of games on my iPhone though. There's a game called Peggle and it's addicting as hell... I can't stop playing that damn game.

Sup - Do you think I could just use a regular socket wrench to tighten the net cord? I looked in the net post and it looks like a regular hexagonal bolt is in there. I just don't want to break something, like my hand in the process. :-|

Dats - Nice avatar, but why is Vigo the Carpathian swinging a tennis racket?

Yes you did..then you talked about the wbna, wta, and lesbians. how that got to sappy saying jjjosh caught a ball on a chin ( probably not at the parade he worked at but rather on the court) to hammer pants is beyond me.

    Sup,

Just tried the ATW pattern nad everyhitng went ok sorta. It sucks that everyother weave was a hard one. And I wasnt payin close enough attention and didnt weave the top and bottom crosses right.

the rule is odd if even, even if odd. But this stupid 325 is so awesome that the top cross crooses only 14 mains and the bottom cross crosses 16 mains. So I didnt pay close enough atentio and my bottom 2 crosses are weave the same.

Does that cause any damage to the racket? Because I just tied it off and figured Id be tolerable since it the crosses close to the throat.

The strings where the two crosses match will pull away from each other causing (imo) a small shift in the sweetspot. Shouldn't hurt your racquet too much. Not like you've let sappy string it.

Good to see you had evenly distributed impact to both sides of the frame yet seemingly managed to limit the amount of shrapnel... impressive

shin good to see you! i can't believe you smashed your dunlop m-fil 200 plus. it's not like you can easily replace that racquet. . . oh wait what? they're on sale for $70? you can buy used ones for $30? never mind dood. smash a whole bunch. in fact get a few extras just for that purpose. :)

i had the same sticks for a while. literally tore my wrist and arm and shoulder apart.

had a league match last night. partner and i won 4 and 3 playing less than stellar tennis which is oddly satisfying. felt like trying to put together a piece of furniture from ikea only you're missing some of the parts and tools. so no topspin backhand, no lob, mediocre volleys, no topspin forehand. but we cobbled together a win. yay. team lost though 2 matches to 3. boo. *shakes fist*

JRprostaf -- you wanna hit this week? evenings work best for me after 7pm. if you got lighted courts - i'll trek up to fredneck.

OK thats kind of what i thought. I use it tonight and see how it feels. I used that Luxilon M2 pack from when they were givin them away for free. And I think I probably strung it up too tight so Itll be getting cut out soon anyway.

Shin - nice racket smashing technique! Did you learn from Fuzzy Yellow Balls?

TFM - Congrats on the win. I can hear the patented TFM laugh now......

Xis - HQ has me in a holding pattern. I should know about Thursday by tonight.

Sup - You watch the Azzurri whoop up on the US? BTW- The guy who scored two goals for Italy was born in Jersey... he could have played for the US - http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/10/sports/soccer/10rossi.html?scp=1&sq= Giuseppe Rossi&st=cse

Looks like I have a USTA match Wed. I may be sandbagging it at #2 singles. ;)

JJJosh - PPL got some good video of your serve on my camera.

Sappy - There is a one good shot of your serve and you handling the return airborn, heh.

None of the other slo mo turned out well this go around.

Thanks for hitting this past weekend everyone! We made a good tactical adjustment on the location. Sorry I missed lunch!

Well, since it's obvious that Federer is a dominant favorite in this tournament,

"WILL FEDERER LOSE MORE THAN 6 SETS ON HIS WAY TO CLAIM HIS 6TH WIMBY TITLE?"

    So the high/low is 6.

    What's your take?

That frame "HAD TO GO" like I said.

Thanks. I don't even know how I did it, but I did it pretty well!!

Yeah, it's cheap, but they don't sell it here anyway. I still have 4 of them, so it's alright. That one was beaten up beforehand and had to go...really. I lost the first set using that crap and lost 0-6. (a bad stringing job as well) Then, I switch it to Aerogel 100 (90 inch) and won the second set 6-1.

I learned from Safin, Federer, and Gonzo. Fed and Gonzo did pretty good this year.

TFM - I'm definitly down for a hit but unfortunatly this week is looking rough. I could potentially be up for a hit on Thursday however that all depends on work function that I'm trying to duck out of...

Saturday morning might work too. thoughts?
