Well after to very uninspiring matches in USTA. I finally got my MOJO back. It really helps to play more than 1 time a month :)

I was placing the serves well today and thought for a second the guys was going to give me a tough match when he hit a couple nice volleys. But I started hitting inside out forehand which set up a good bit of shortballs for me which I didnt miss this week.

The guy was hitting good approaches for 3.5 and was doing a good job a getting to the net, but for somereason if he hit an approach to my BH hand I was passing him DTL and short cross court angle as well. I was kinda amzed at myself for how well I was hitting those cross court BH passes.

so I won 6-2 6-2. One of those times I look like 4.0 player. The last two weeks I looked like a 3.0 player so I guess it evens out.

Now that RAFA is gone Fed obviously is the clear cut fave. Does he succumb to the pressure and get upset or will he rise to the ocassion and reign surpreme?

Maybe I should have sniffed some JO I might have bageled him :)

It really wasnt an easy match, The guy really made me earn the points, and when he had a chance he usually made his shots. There was a ton of duece games that I was lucky enough to come away with. Hopefully I can keep the momentum going.

If you start eating french fries with vinegar and JO it will pack on some much needed LBs on your frame and give you a little extra pop on your serve and groundstrokes :)

Forgot to mention theres a tourny goin on in Hershey and they moved some dudes Indoors. Im not sure if any of you dudes remember Nathan Healy, but he was one of the dudes playing. In 2006 he lost in the 3rd round of the AO to Davydenko. He played some Nathan Thompson who used to play for clemson. Healy beat him 6-4 6-4.

The other dude I saw was some guy named Julio Peralta, dont know much about him but he had a big serve and real good footwork. Kinda was coasting around effortless like Fed does.

Well I just looked at the Peralta guy beat Healy. Peralta will play frederick niemeyer of Canadian davis cup and Olympics fame. So there a Canadian and a Chilean in the Finals of some small tourney in Harrisburg PA.

Its kinda funny that the tournament is called The William H. Metzger PA State Clay Court Open. Yet they were playing indoors because of rain. A couple of the guys were PO'd that they had to change from Green Clay/Har-tru to indoors. The club there in Hershey has fairly new Plexi-Pave surface.

I though it was neat that after our match were eating Hot Dogs and Kraut and Healy was sleeping on a couch waiting for his next match. His wife and kid were there also he lives in Wyomissing PA (Around Philly) and I guess he didnt have nowhere else to go so he just slept in the club.

Djoko is a odd one this year. He has been getting mixed results. I think for him to win it somebody else will have to beat Fed, I dont think Novak is ready for Fed on the grass. Del Porto has a chance, hes putting himself into contention in all these tourneys.

Hi va peeples! Driving thru the mixing bowl now on our way home! Topaz on our way down to sc, my husband called this writhing mess of highway "the mixing bowl" and I said "huh. That's exactly what topaz called it too." Hee looked at me like I was crazy. So then I learned that "mixing bowl" doesn't actually refer to the convergence of varying socio-economic and cultural groups...

One point 5 hrs until home!

Isshe ridiculous because she shotyoudown? Or was she that way before? If she was, then youre pretty ridiculous for asking such a ridiclous girl in the first place.

Who do you guys like in the golf tourney today? Ricky Barnes wont maintain the putting and hell drop some strokes. Glover IMO is up by enough to maintain the lead. So I think he wins it. I think 5 under par will be good enough to win soallthese 2 under guys need to have that score in thier mind.

Hek folks... don't mind me just playing catchup after the weekend....

That was probably me you heard... poor Rafa... hopfully someone will step up and challenge Fed-hed and make Wimby 09 worht while.

Didn't get to see it in IMAX however concur the new startrek movie was kickass!

urg the mixing bowl is heinous! I avoid that debacale of a roadway at all costs!

Pic = disturbingly cool... mental image of purse to the gonads = sympathetic man cringe

On a lighter note... anyone up for a hit tonight/later this week up in MD? I have my second league match to play sometime before sunday and should probably get a practice hit in so I don;t go through a full 6 games before I finnally warm up :)

    zap --

this worked for maverick in topgun. it might've worked for goose man too since he was married to a young meg ryan. course he later got killed cuz maverick was hot dogging but that's okay because in the end the unknown enemy combatants in russian MIGs were shot down and bugged out.

you've lost that loving feeling. commit that song to memory.

According to some of the guys I work with there apparently is an un-offical record of junior officers in the navy that have actually attempted this in some way shape or form to varying degrees of failure/success. would be interesting to see what the actual results have been...

lol. i was in the navy for 8 years and i work at a navy hospital. i've heard many officers tell me that it's true. mostly when they were young and dumb and inebriated.

    alcohol's a he.ll of a drug.

    WTF?

Egypt beats Italy in the Confederation Cup, Italy loses to Brazil, US beats Egypt 3-0, and the US goes through to the next round on Goal Diff.

Next up for the US - Spain, the #1 team in the world.

Wimby update... don't want to give too much away for folks not tuning in so I'll refrain from major details.

Bad first round upset on the mens side (IMHO)... starting to wonder what happend to my fellow nutmeg state player!, WTF!

Some unfortunate drama in VikA's match

Fed-hed is looking to be on par in his first round.

I've got Del Potro to win Wimby, just like I had him to win the AO and FO.

I can't believe my own eyes... sun for the entire week. I'm thinking of demoing these two rackets while I have a chance at actually using them.

    Gamma T-6 http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageRCGAMMA-GT6.html

    Gamma T-7 http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageRCGAMMA-GT7.html

Both of them are lighter and flexier than the Fischer M-Pros, not as cheap though. It's all about the open string pattern.

I apologize to whoever it was that texted me yesterday and wanted a sub for USTA, but after 5 hours of Kendo I was exhausted. I got home and couldn't even move. I think I lost about 30lbs in one day.

topaz -- are you on summer vacation yet? if so -- how about doing something nice for once and bringing me lunch. i'm thinking seafood bisque from crisfield's.

not that i'm watching ladies tennis but from this year's wimbledon -- some new faces i haven't seen before.

jrp, just responded to your email.

hey tfm! if you'll play with jrp in mount airy tonight, i'll play with your kids! i'm serious. jrp, as much as i'd like to play, i just don't think that hitting with me would in any way help to prepare you for your match...it would kinda be like trouncing your preschool-aged kid sister in checkers to prepare for your grandmaster chess tournament, ya know? but like all kid sisters everywhere, i'm totally game if you can't find anyone else!
