wow... not really sure how to respond to TFM's last post.

I think I would have preferred to see his most recent mixup w/ eminem instead!

US stuns Spain, reaches Confed Cup final
    ----------------------------------------------
i just don't understand... the US suX.
the game against brazil looked like high schoolers.
i was trying to pick a bright spot on their team, i saw
nothing. now they are going to the finals?

this will be like Roddick winning the French over Rafa!
but brazil should win 3-0 at least again.

I think Hewitt has some magic to pull off an upset today. That would be a huge win for him if he can pull it off.

Also when I first looked at that Bruno pic I though that was the tail looped around to the front. Then you guys made me look at again and its not a tail its the frank and beans.

Who makes a bull suit with the actual bull johnson? who would even think of that? that movies gonna be so stupid funny it will rule.

The US game vs. Italy might have been a tie or at least 1-2 if we didn't get a red-card in the first half.

Brazil is the best team out there right now and should win the Confed cup. They downed Italy 3-0.

Very surprising win for the US, but it seems we're clicking after the game vs. Egypt.

I think Spain underestimated the US and figured they were going to waltz into the Final. The US doesn't play brilliant soccer, but we have a decent defense. US also took the risk of trying to run at Spain instead of putting 10 guys behind the ball and trying to defend for 90 min. Risky, but it paid off.

    soccer.
we don't want any. go away.
but the US team just beat spain.
    we should always beat spain.
but in soccer spain is really really good.
hrrmmm. don't care unless there's dunks, homeruns or touchdowns involved.

says the soccer fan on a TENNIS forum. you might wanna check out TALK.SOCCERWAREHOUSE.COM.

i realize that tennis is probably 6th or 7th major sport in terms of popularity. i could be wrong but i figure:

    1 - NFL
    2 - MLB
    3 - NBA
4 - NASCAR (sad but true)
    5 - Mixed Martial Arts (?)
    6 - NHL (maybe?)
    7 - Tennis (maybe?)

Anyone got numbers on this stuff?

I'd have to do some digging. Are we talking attendence or TV ratings? I also assume you are talking within the US.

I'm betting NASCAR is #2 in TV ratings... or was at some point.

But the way I see it, any topic if fair game on this thread - the tennis per post ratio is pretty low.

I thought JR Shot a mirror and moved to Europe for a fdew years, only to come back later to become pres of Westar Oil and returning ewing oil back to bobby. You dont watch Dallas reunions?

Theres a ton of good places in BMore. Theres a place in Harbor East called Ra Sushi thats like a Bar they have some interesting stuff threre and the Bartenders are like the hottest bartenders you may ever see. And if you want Italain food try Sotta Sopra http://www.sottosoprainc.com/ they are unique in that they bring in new Chefs all the time so thier menu items may change with different styles of Italy from time to time. Its always good that much I can assure you of.

Funny site where they tried to identify the most popular sport and asked the various International Federations for estimates of how many people played the various sports. Tennis came in at 6th most popular, but if you read the notes the data is seriously flawed for some of the sports listed.

If you have MMA up there, you might as well put boxing... although I'm not sure if it would rank higher or lower than MMA.

Have you ever seen the movie "Victory"? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Escape_to_Victory

That movie will get you pumped... nothing like beating a bunch of ****s in soccer (in **** Germany)... then digging a tunnel under the stadium and getting the f**k outta there. Well, technically they tied, but they get cheated out of one of the goals since all the refs are German.

**EDIT** I guess the word N + Yahtzee is not allowed... strange.

Iwish I could be watching the matches right now. The Seppi vs Gicquel match looks a decent one. Super close llking. I wonder if thats what they are playing on the TV. Of course Hewitt is playing one of the Faves to win the tourney as well they could be showing that.

But most likely they are playing a Serne Williams High School match from 1995 or something :)

If you like Greek food - Samos has the best Greek food in Baltimore, but make sure you have cash because they don't take credit or checks.

Ra sushi has 1/2 off happy hour, M-S 3-7. Viva las vegas roll is popular and so is the coconut shrimp tempura. Definately worth the money. I also like Pazo, the ambiance is great there.

oh, yeah. just those stumpy fatties murray, djokovic, and roddick left in the draw. it was so painful to watch del Lurch creak around that court today. poor guy...it must like take an extra minute or two for the signal from his brain to travel all the way down to his feet.
