    *yawn *

    Hi TWMAC peeps.

Just finished reading War and Peace..... er.... I mean the posts from Friday on. Looks like a fun time was had by all this weekend.

I had off Friday and was crazy busy all weekend, so I didn't check the boards. Played Brgerflipr and Sup Friday, but no tennis this weekend.

I did do some BBQ, at 11pm on Sat night. Neighbors have to think I'm insane.... well that and me dancing while cooking in the kitchen around midnight.

Sooo..... Any chance of the Thursday Mini-meet this week?

BTW- I'm hitting today at College Park Tennic Center again. Looks like they have a social tonight.

    Tennis+Food+Fee Court Time = Win!!!

Xis - if you go to that BBQ place in memphis, see if you can take a cooler and some dry ice and bring me back some of that!

Topaz- What's up with the spoiler? I have the Buffy Box set on order ;)

I think every BBQ place in Memphis has an arrangement with FedEx for overnight shipping, so make sure I have your address before we go - probably around T'giving.

    Anybody want to pre-order a Dyers burger deep-fried in 90-year-old grease? :)

    Sap,

Superman wouldnt date some girl playing dress up up like superman to get him the sack and have his kid to extort money like an NBA groupie.

If superman was going to date someone other than lois lane it would have to Wonder Woman whose nips can cut glass.

Dude, I'll likely be ashes spread on some clay court somewhere by 2012, or if the superstitious peeps are right, riding time's wing-ed chariot to Hades or Purgatory or someplace like that. ;)

So I'm eating a Dyers grease burger this T'giving, which will probably hasten my departure from the conscious to the subconscious. I'll post a pict for your album. :)

    P.S. Supergirl has ugly knees.

Supergirl is also using the JRStriker technique of standing in front of the picture to make everyone look smaller than them. Of course in Striker case he was actually taller than TFM and it made him look like Andre the Giant next to Bobby the Brian.

    Hello all,

They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. So does that mean TFM has two hearts? Or Zappy has none? *shrug*

In either case. Our Top Chef offers a buffet of:

    Kalbi (Korean short ribs)
Jap chae (sweet potato noodles with spinach and wild mushrooms)
    Kimchis
    Strawberry cheesecake ice cream
    Tiramisu gelato
    and grapefruit sorbet

The price of admission? Having the next TWMAC meet in Mt Airy, MD .. the date: August 16th Sunday. Two secluded tennis courts and bathrooms (alice rechecking) available.

VA peeps we can carpool, which leaves room for more drinking, sitting or swimming at her pool and watching spiderboy play his violin upside down.

If there is interest lets move forward! Get a food list and lock things up for the day.

    Cliff Notes:

    August 09 TWMAC meet
    When: August 16- Sunday
    Where: MT Airy, MD
How: Van leaves NOVA early and returns before sundown
Who: Who else could cook the above- Alice. But we will also be bringing stuff
Why: Cause its tennis! Cause its good food.. and because we haven't had a meet in a while.

disclaimer: This idea brought to you by Alice. Her offering of food and house is very generous.

    Alice,

Thank you kindly for the invite. But as is the case with me the one weekend I plan something in advance is the exact date someone else has a genius idea.

So while you guys are playing tennis and sweating I will be at OC eating thrashers french fries, seafood buffet, fishers popcorn, salt water taffy from the candy kitchen, and whatever other food I want to.

So thanks again but I gotta TWMACBail

Sappy thanks for the video, the quality was pretty good. Watching the video 3 of the 4 players look like 2.0 rated players.

Oh sure...and who are the 3??? You can't put yourself there after throwing down aces the way you did! Sandbagger!!!! ;) Don't make me pull up Tennislink!

BTW, Sappy, PPL sent me the file, but to play it I had to download something else, and then that wouldn't work because my mac is old and I don't have an intel processor.

    So confused.

I'm actually not burned, but I had a lot of sunscreen on. I am, however, convinced that I will never rid myself of these bizarre tan lines.

I did feel like my skin might actually catch on fire for a bit, though, before we finally stopped.

Got back from the Club Night Social. Sort of fun.

Got to play on REAL RED CLAY!!!! - Actually it was cool to play on the red stuff, but I was underwhelmed. Sort of played like hard-tru except maybe a little slower. Actually a bit disappointed, the one court needed serious maintenance, there were several huge half-circle burrows on the court - I hit a winner when this hole swallowed one of my returns so it didn't bounce. IIRC, the court was actually roped off, maybe for repair, but they had us play there anyway.

Conversation at food time was good. Plenty of laughs and good tennis talk.

Food was free, but okay. To my taste buds, the salt was over done.

Not enough tennis - I just wanted to play, eff the food. We played a dubs round robin. Got to the #2 court twice and lost both times. Was going for a third shot to take the #2 court then they rang the dinner bell - bummer!!! (I know it's hard to believe that I'd pass up a plate for tennis, but it's the truth.)

The level of tennis was pretty good on the upper courts. Finished out the night by playing a little singles. The dude was a 3.0 so I bageled him, but I didn't care since I just wanted to play.

Got there at 6 and got kicked off the courts at 9:30, so I got about 2hr 45 min of tennis in.

I thought it would play just fine...then told me I needed a component and got directed to download DivX for Mac...then got told DivX wouldn't run because my Mac is too old. :(

Oh well...appreciate you hosting it, though, Sappy. Maybe I can figure something out on my end.

INNovaShaun mentioned on the women's apparel thread that Nordstrom's was having some good sales, and he found some good Nike stuff on sale.

Sappy, this isn't a mini-meet, though. And when, exactly, did you plan on us playing? Time is running out...*ticktockticktock*.
