    Ouch JRK......

I don't mind the slow lefty and the other dude. The spazzy-J-Mac-wanna-be gets on my nerves though. He'll hook you in a sec. I hit with him afterward and I'm wonding why he can't hit the ball past the service-line on ground strokes.

H is the man though. He has some nice buttery smooth strokes.

I did have some fun last night. I liked that 3-on-1 or 4-on-1 drill.

Yeah, I don't want to sound like an @sshole, the dudes are all nice but watching them play makes me want to stick a hot poker in my eye. I'm not the most graceful dude out there but come on...

I kept telling the one dude with the bum knee to just stay up at the net, instead he tries to play Agassi from the baseline even though he can only take one step in any direction.

Same with gypsy dude... he'll run up to the net to get a short ball but then scramble half-assed all the way back to the baseline for no apparent reason.

Then the 70's dude is calling the lines like he's the Hawkeye System. He yells "OUT!!!" when the ball hits the back curtain, like we're all stupid, either that or he's doing it to just be annoying. Also, if I had a dollar for every step that dude took BACKWARDS before he hit a shot I would be a billionaire after 5 minutes. Several times during drill he's almost hit me with his damn racket 'cuz he takes 10 steps backwards before he hits the ball... that's why he can't get it past the service line.

+1; "spazzy-J-Mac-wanna-be" is kinda annoying with the line calls. and i would love to show him a video of himself ... that would have to be a giant "reality sandwich". as for the other dudes, they alright, especially the egyptian dude that was super impressed with my 1 dropper of the nite. he can stay as long as he compliments all my shots. ;-)

Alas, they wont be there again. It's just you guys and Hung (insert TFM joke).

Next time you guys go head to head, I'm interested to see how hung holds up. He's been patient enough to wait for you guys to show.

Are you going to show at 2pm Magma?

I don't see your email in your profile. I live in Centreville. I work at Fairfax Racquet Club so I can use open courts for free. Let me know when you're available. Courts are usually open on the weekdays in the afternoon around 2 or 3 and at night at 10.

Haven't been able to work on anything tennis-wise in one damn week...lesson at 9 AM tomorrow -- indoors at the Y. Then clinic on Sunday. Hoping I dont show up in someone's post as a guy with bad knees'who can't move that well...Sometimes tennis seems so unwelcoming.

The golden rule here is that we all can make fun of each other but we all don't take it seriously. Like for instance. TFM and I had beers tonight. Before the beers 95% of his words were pretty funny and directed at someones expense. After beers its about 99% and he kept dropping his silverware for the waiter to pick up.

He's cruel and cold. Like H1.

(totally kidding about the above.. your good.. no worries)

JRS played with the Capt on court 3 and lost4 and 4.

We were getting crushed in the first set, something like 1-4, we slowly crept back into the game. The other dude was solid and a lefty. His partner was solid too.

We got close but couldn't close the gap.

Second set, we were in it all the way..... until...... 4-4 on my serve..... I get a shank return that lands short(almost on the net), I try to just push it cross court but push it into the net. Next play, I get a lob. I don't try to go for too much, just place it in the corner - I miss it by about 6-inches (@%!@$%$%!!!!!!!!). The lefty dude cleaned up on his serve and that was all she wrote.....

Think this was a good team... the type of good team where the captain never plays, he just collects players and shows up....

    Xis,

Look like the Phillies gifted one to your team. You are lucky right now. Hopefully the dodgers start hitting. The phils wasted pedro. Why not let Pedro pitch the 8th inning as well? He only allowed 2 hits and didn't walk anyone. Loney's fly ball to end the 7th was the only solid hit they had all night. Put Pedro out there in the 8th and let the stinking relief man relieve him if he has to.

I think the Angles got the yankees right where they want them.

You probably have. I'm there all the time... or least I used to be. Not so much lately though. I work at the front desk every now and then and work the junior program four days out of the week. I'm there pretty much every day.

Ah, just looked you up. Yes, your opponents are on a team that has such a captain, I've played for him in the past. This captain fields several teams, with one being the 'A' team and the others kind of 'feeder' teams. You did play the 'A' team, but in 7.0, it is the team currently sitting in 3rd that you have to look out for. They've gone at least to sectionals almost every year, and that captain controls that roster with an iron grip. Lol. I partnered with her once for 'fun' doubles, and I knew she captained, so I asked to join, and I got a flat 'NO'. She prefers 3.0 females so she can pair them up with 4.0 guys. Ugh, whatever...reason # 5,083,385 that I'm not playing mixed this year.

I think that team will have a fight this year, though, from looking at the rosters.

I bet you would recognize a lot of us! Hopefully we'll have a meet-up one of these days...

reasons why jrs needs to look into moving to northern moco/frederick county:
    • far from airports, so he wouldn't be listed under "airport hotels" for friends & relations
    • i'm tired of representing the .00002% minority population by myself
    • i'm in desperate need for a non-creepy 3.5 guy for my mixed team
hey jrp, tfm said that you were a sorry excuse for player and that even i could volley better than you, but i'm desperate, so want to be on the team? ok, i'm kidding. sappy's cat, while stoned out of its mind, could volley better than me. it's only a 7.0 team, but the women on my team are really hot! no, not really. god, i'm the worst salesperson ever. let me know if you'd like to join--it'll be good excerise, and you'll be able to meet other tennis people in frederick.

    Non-creepy dudes FTW!!!

I wouldn't mind, if Fredneck was a bit closer........

It depends - Where are you in Nova????

In DC: Haines Point, Rockcreek Tennis Center, Arlington YMCA.
Arlington: Arlington YMCA, Skyline Sport and Health, Army Navy Club (may be a private club)
NOVA: Bready Park (Herndon), World Gate Sport and Health (Herndon), Fairfax Racket Club, Four Seasons Tennis Club (Falls Church), Recency Sport and Health (Tysons Corner), Annandale Sport and Health

Celebrated a friend's birthday party on one of those "Spirit of Baltimore" Dinner/Cruises.

    I was highly disappointed because:
    1. No crab cakes - WTF?????
    2. They didn't play "on a boat" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7yfISlGLNU

So, evidently...I used to knit. Lol. It is amazing what cleaning storage trunks out will remind you of.

    TWMAC quick-poll:

Should Topaz pack her knitting with the hopes of finishing someday, or give it 'das boot???

    PS...dust makes me sneeze!

I come back only to see that campbell has benched for the 2nd half and matt almost just threw a touch down to bowe. WTF foreskins. you guys really suck

I looked into membership at the Four Seasons, and was disappointed because it seems after you pay the mebreship fee, all the court times are already reserved anyway, unless you can find someone to hit at, say, 7 am on a Monday. :( Aside from that, the fees are kinda expensive..and on a social worker's salary, I just cannot afford to live it up. So I am thinking I'll be joining the polar bears...

Hey, any of you "old" folks playing in the Leesburg 35/40/45s next week?

I'm considering entering the 40s, but need to wait & see what my weekend schedule is going to be.
