Brand new? I'd probably go with the BMW 5 series - more room than the 3-series and the CTS. Eff it, I'm not racing and speed limit tops out at about 65 around here. Either that or an Evo and a new home theater in my basement (LOL)....

FWIW - I the vette engine in the CTS-V just really kicks azz performance wise, and that's saying something since the M3 and M5 are no joke.

Out of those cars Id get the V. Out of all Cars Id probably get an Old 69 or 70 mercury cyclone with 429 Cobra Jet.

hahhaaha. i like that magma. so 2+ kids means minivan? and a honda odyssey at that? i switched out my little 3-series for a used rx330. it drives like a camry on blocks. not bad but it's about as exciting as watching non-playoffs baseball. the only redeeming quality is that it's great for kids. FMYLIFE.

magma -- had to look. in a 500 mile radius -- cars.com lists the cheapest used R8 at $95K with 21K miles. it's a bargain!

i've always liked the way NSXs looked but the performance you get out of the ridiculous high prices were never justified imo. i think they were only making around 270hp or so. (270hp is still alot. i only use about 40hp in my day to day driving. but compared to other high performance cars, 270hp is low).

If all you want is performance the vettes have been hard to beat. Vette has probably best performance to price ratio around.

Unless you buy a Noble Rolling chassis from 1g racing. After the engine and gearbox get put in your looking at a little under 100k. 0-6- under 4 seconds, top speed 185Mph. 425 HPs and only weighs 2300 lbs.

    Sup,

Hopefully you are enjoying yourself and had an enjoyable flight.

Also wish Panterka a happy birthday and let her know that I would destroy her in basketball.

Not a terrible price for that car Xis. nice year as well. Vettes lost thier appeal after the 67 model year though. The new ones are OK but its not the same

your white beemer is gone! was it to accomdate 2 cars seats, a bigger trunk for all associated kid junk, and safer with AWD? didja consider a 5-series or bigger sedan? we got an SUV recently and we don't even have kids, just in prep for the inevitable. i hope it never get to mini-van for us, not there is anything wrong with that.

Effin' A, man. Stopped even looking at Vettes when they got all clunky and Fordish looking. These early 60s jobs are sleek and sweet, a teenage lad's liquid series of images at nighttime, if you'll pardon the euphemism.

Good thing we outgrew all that stuff. ;)

but since larking about for 4 weeks goes against mr. wonderland's work ethic, i guess i'd settle for some boots & perfume.

which would still leave me me $77.5k, to keep my tennis pro on retainer for a year, to teach me to play fearless tennis.

I saw it...had it on while I was packing everything up...it was scary to see her collapse like that, and that happened to be one of the few moments I had stopped and was actively watching.

the ones pictured are 26" high, and i have a pair which are 23" high (urban outfitters; not christian louboutin). i was afraid that i'd look like i'd fallen into a hole, but because of the slouch factor, they're fine. i hink that the purchase of those boots was the official start of my mid-life crisis.

tfm, i have a guy on my team who'd probably like to continue to play after his practice match ends at 12 tomorrow. he's a strong 3.5 player (plays 8.0 mixed also). we'll be at westwinds, and they'll make you pay guest fees since you're not a member of a team. but the fees for the outdoor courts are nominal. email me if you want me to ask him.

edit: never mind. i was confused in the head. (it's true i think asians look alike. but to be fair, i also think that all white people look alike too.) sappy, i know that new market is a haul for you. but i also have teammates playing on public courts urbana on sunday, which x said was only 45 minutes from him. let me know if you want to join us.

Yea the early 90s NSX you can find for 20k or less sometimes. I dont how much he payed for the one he got. Need some minor body work, but besides that its a solid car. He aint rich being a low level enlisted guy. Id say startlooking for a new dream car or start lookin for an SNX :)

Hello from sunny Florida. May post a detail report when I get back and load some of the many pics taken. For now lets see the bullet points.

    -21 drinks and counting Panterka
-Who eats in Fl. Apparently not Sup.
-Drunk tennis with Drak. Advantage sober Drak.
-B 8. Bingo! Lets boogie down
-Slots can't be seduced but poker players can get mad.
    -Breakfast! Food at last.
-Adv Drak Part II: I see dead people
-35 shrimp dishes sounded like a good idea
    -Vampires sleep during the day
-All dressed up and waiting for what?
-Happy Halloween. Where are we Drak and why are 95% of the costumes sailors, pilots and pirates?
    -Hard Rock or bust
-Panterka makes the final cut, but no one could touch Jesus.
    -It's 2am, feed me @#$(!/+÷

jrp, thanks for coming out and playing with us yesterday. playing with you as my partner was like being in bed with, like, marat safin: totally out of my league in experience & skill, and was woefully inadequate in comparison to previous partners. but hopefully like marat, you're not too discriminating, and you'll be back? and um, now that i got that first time out of the way, i should be able to enjoy myself much more!

Whoa, isn't that borderline "stalker" like? ;)

When I was in high school, I had a poster in my room of Andre Agassi. It was a picture of him hitting a backhand return at Wimbledon (the year he won). Grass was flying off his shoes as he blasted his backhand.

At the bottom it said "Mowing the lawn". I think it was a Nike poster.

p.s. The Mad Men "Don Draper" costume was a hit last night... everyone knew exactly who we were supposed to be. Now I have to figure out what I'm gonna do with a pack of Lucky Strikes and a Zippo lighter.

Give the Luckies to a homeless and sell him the zippo when he asks for a light. Those guys make decent money panhandling.

There was a dude in BMore that no arms and no legs. He was walking around and one of legs was falling apart. He was probably pullin in 6 figures.

    Zap,

They should have started using that engine in the 97 NSX's. That's when they went to 290HP and the 6Speed. If you get one with an automatic transmission you still get the older engine. Because the auto can't handle the extra torque.

There's a 98 in frederick listed at 39k right now with 43,000 miles on it.

I've never seen that poster; I had one of Borg on the wall of my college dorm (now that's showing your age!).
Yes, beautiful Jie is right up there next to brilliant Beethoven...and on the wall of my condo as you come in, you see autographed covers of CHESS LIFE from my chess teacher, who is also one beautiful woman.
Next thing you know, someone's going to post something about Beethoven being a woman in drag...but I have that covered already, too: a poster of The Blue Angel decorates my bathroom, with the beautiful and sultry Marlene Dietrich.
So now you have it: Zheng's house tour...
Oh! I forgot my huge poster of Jack Nicholson as JImmy Hoffa...I was going to put a NY Giants cap on him, but that would be a bit much, wouldn't it?

drak -- who's the nerd in front of the sexy french maid? pls post more pics of said sexy french maid. ditch the nerd.

zap -- i agree with you that driving a manual transmission for pure fun is the way to go but plenty o supercars are now sporting not so slush-boxes. godzilla (nissan gtr) comes to mind among others with the f1 style paddle shifters. figure anyone who can drop $80k+ down on a weekend toy car can get whatever they want. unless you take your car to the track often or you race semi-professionally -- chances are good that you are not as proficient with a stick shift as you might want to imagine. it's the same with tennis skillz on these forums. you got any racing experience zap? need for speed or gran turismo on the ps3 doesn't count.

geez. talk about a let down. sorry tfm I'm blocking gour view. Poor Shcmad will need to crop me out to have his shampoo and hot dog moment ( ala zapvor ).

Again sorry for my ugly mug.

So lets continue with the bullet points.

    -I'll sleep when I'm dead.
    - RaffaaaaSup vs DrakFed.
    - All hooters are not created the same
    - Favre = $$$$$$$$$
    - Panterka 1 shy away from 21
    - Saying good bye shouldn't be so hard....or long. Less is more.
    - Shcmad hits flat but does he hit 'it' hard?
    - Where are all the asians?
