And Paul Hollywood 3.5 math is like this.

    5.0 serve + 4.0 FH +2.0 BH + 1.0 Volleys + 2.5 mobility = 3.5 NTRP in case you were wondering

TFM, how fast did I serve when I won that beer from you? JRK didnt get that speed, and he doesn't roll hard in the paint with lesbians either :)

I can agree with you on the serves. Its kinda like baseball. Randy Johnson threw 100mph. but it was a light 100mph and guys like Jeff Rebulet would tee off on him. But then you have a guy like Josh Beckett who doesnt quite throw 100 but the balls seems heavier. So I guess tennis can be the same way.

JRK always kept me off balance returning his serve. Could never quite get used to it. Mos Def aced me more than I aced him.

hollywood -- i think JRK paints the corners more often and more consistently. i just know i've seen him hit many an ace followed by a few double faults and a few more aces for good measure. i think you hit 122 that day but it was the only one that was even that fast. if i recall -- you hit many in the high 90's and low 100's (with old dead balls). i think the radar gun caught the tip of your racquet but in all honesty -- with fresh balls i think you top out about 120-ish anyway so a moot point.

sup -- you at skyline today or in va or md?

Yea Im not sure what the gun was doing that day. I remeber hitting tons of huge serves which to Vitaly (god rest his soul) and me seemed harder than the actual one that won me the bet. But Hopefully Im still able to serve and PP and I can recreate the maniacal TFM laugh after every ace we blast :)

are you sure you've actually collected the bet from tfm? he mcbailed on the bet with JRK and then double mcbailed on not macbailing on that payment

That's some serious pop hollywood and PP! I'd be surprised if my serve gets past 110 but then again I've never had my served clocked so we'll see. It ought to be quite fun to find out in real world situations.

The radar gun is pretty humbling... you may feel like you are cranking the ball and then you see the gun read 87. Hollywood is right though, the ones that don't feel fast usually end up being the fastest serve, probably cause your arm is more loose, allowing for more snap on the ball.

Sup brought out the gun maybe 5 months ago, at a clinic. I clocked one at 110, and that hurt my arm. Most of my serves were around the mid-high 90's though. What was interesting is that the old gypsy dudes in the clinic were serving at around 50mph but it looked more like 15mph.

Yeah - saw that the other day.

Also, modders have managed to hack the match making so even if you select domination or TDM, you get put into a free for all in rust where they just spawn kill. Happened to me once. The top guy had unlimited ammo on with the AC-130 and racked up 200+kills. Sick.....

IW has to issue another patch...

Have you ever looked at the top of the leaderboards? The guy who is number one has a kill streak of 1,400... WTF?!?! How the f**k do you kill 1,400 people in one game? The match would have to be 8 hours long.

Haha, that video is hilarious... have you seen the one with Reba McEntire? It's really messed up.

It's only a family of 3... one mom and two kids. The wife and I decided we weren't going to buy each other gifts this year and instead do the "adopt a family" thing. At first I thought they actually stay with us for X-mas and I was like "oh ****, our place is kinda small..." But then I realized you just buy them what's on their X-mas list, which is a lot easier.

I was joking about the Ken Cole shoes. ;)

    Paulman,

You'd be surprised how much stock people put into their serve. Like the financial market. They think it will do one thing.. ends up doing something else.

    For example:

*Sup brings radar gun to clinic*

    Sup: Okay TheJRK, I don't think you'll pass 100mph
TheJRK: Hahah.. dude.. I'll bomb one easy
*10 tries later and only 93 avg*
Sup: *clears throat* surprising huh. Maybe if you try not to hit it in...
TheJRK: *hitting one almost on the wall.. hits 101mph
    Sup: Well look at that..
    TheJRK: told ya.

    The end.

Please remember kids. Knowing is half the battle.

    Go Joe!

That pic reminds me. Where is PPL?

lol yeah I hear sup! You know, I said 110 but I should have said 100 since I've never tried to have it clocked but a few buddies that have said my serves could POSSIBLY be around 115.

I guess I must have started to believe in the hype too. Oh well in the end, it doesn't really matter as much at my level. Consistency, placement, and effectiveness of the serve count more than outright pop.

Dude, you have the worst memory! Here's how it went down...

    Sup - <brings out radar gun> I bet you don't break 100.

    Me - I'll bomb one over 100 easily. <first serve 101>

    Me - Haha, see.

    Sup - I bet you can't AVERAGE over 100.

Me - Okay we'll see... <serves like 8 times, each one is mid-80/90s>

    Me - ****

Sup - Haha, see I told you.

Me - One more try <serves 110, IN DOWN THE T>

    Me - Haha, yeah!

Sup - That's still not an AVERAGE over 100

    Me - <heavy sigh>

headed out for last day of skiing today. the altitude is embarrassing me. i hobbled into the ski patrol cabin by mistake yesterday--i was looking for the "warming hut" at the summit of beaver creek (11,400 ft) and those guys must have been really bored at the moment, or i looked especially green around the gills because they swarmed around me and lectured me about drinking enough water, and i kid you not, about the color of my urine. granted all i'd been drinking since monday was coffee in the am and hard cider in the pm, but sheesh.

i'm destined to make an as$ of myself in front of ski patrol. did i tell you about the first time i went skiing? seventh grade, with my girl scout troop, night skiing at roundtop. we took a lesson, during which i learned that i shouldn't go straight down the mountain. so i headed diagonally down the mountain, promptly crashed in the the ski lift pole, and laid there as everyone passed over me on the lift. and i continued to lay there because no one told me that i could take my damn skis off by myself. and then finally, ski patrol came and gave me a ride down on the sled.

Think its a 7pm start date.

Give or take 20 minutes of TheJrk announcing he plays like Gulbis ala Hulk Hogan style.

"What are you going to do when" TheJrk comes serving at you.

sup had visions of sugarplums and Aeropros dancing in his head last night... what will Drakulie think???? noooooooooooooo!!!!! Rafaaaa!!!
but yes, as soon as you picked that thing up you were hitting great shots with it. i should still be using them too.... maybe I'll try out the RDis300 and RQisTour2! more POWA!

APDs are nice sticks! Still got a couple left in my possession even though I've moved on from them. My first Babs were Pure Control Team 98 stds but I didn't play that much during that time and they were too much stick when I did play 2 or more sets but I loved their stability and power. Then I started using the APDs as they were much easier to handle due to their lighter static and swingweights but as I my knee got worse, the worse my forehand got since I kept looping my forehand in instead of hitting thru them.

I started playing with less powerful sticks from Kneissl and that helped to get me to hit thru them w/o fear of them going out when I tried that on the APDs. The Kneissls also got me to start using 27.5 extended sticks and I liked them better overall which got me to get APD+ sticks.

Then I started hitting again with the Bab PC since I was playing more and more and was actually weighting down my sticks to 345grams for plow thru and stability. Really liked the plow thru and flatter type swing the PC brought along with the pop I liked, so I got the PC+ sticks and that's what I currently play with in singles. So, in a way, I've kinda come full circle with the Bab Pure Control sticks, just extended 27.5 now... Pretty ironic I think.

Anyway, I still have a lot of love for the original APD and APD+ sticks as they are still awesome.

Sup, really liked the red Pro Supex Big Ace 17L mains and black Spiral Flex crosses on my PC+ sticks! I like them better than the BA mains w/ Gosen OG Micro or even Gosen JC 16 crosses... Pro Supex has incredible value, as you well know. Followed your thread from the MG Prestige Mids and after I tried a few sets first I got a reel of MT 16 - very very nice since I have a tender elbow too.

Its too bad those Beckers are Orange. If I were to switch sticks (which aint happenin anytime soon) I would look at the Volkl/ Beckers. But would probably end up getting Some Redondos.

My TF 325's weight 13oz when strung. 368 grams is a bit more than 325 :)

Sup weighed my Ti Rads and he said they were 12.4 oz I think... I didn't realize they were that heavy. I also forgot that Auzzie had put lead on them 6 months ago.

So, I put some lead on my M Pro's and I was hitting much better with them last night... serve had a little more pop too, no 110 mph though. :(

Well Rocky single handedly ended the Cold War in Rocky IV. So I guess its possible that could unite N. and S. Korea.

And I could eat all the Spicy Chicken Bulgogi I want :)

Speaking of the WNBA these dudeas were talking the other day on ESPN and one of them said that the WNBA needs to lower the rims to a height where 98% of the players can dunk like the NBA. That way these women could crush dunks on each other.

If they did this I would probably watch for a couple weeks just to see broads crushin dunks on each other. But then if I wanted to under talented basketball players crushin dunks on each other I would just watch slamball. I wouldnt be good at Slamball because there is no paint for me to be able to roll hard in
