If you do, you'll have a little blonde first grade clone who will absolutely adore you forever.

    What? I wasn't laughing...I was saying...'really'???

I missed him on NYE, because we were too busy creating various champagne cocktails. Completely missed the ball drop, and when we turned it on they were showing the crowd, and then we immediately turned the channel to watch the stupid car jump.

I seem to remember that, too! And *that* was what made me laugh!

Oh dear! We were almost at the bottom of the page! No way Jose!

Though, if you guys are doing what I'm doing, you're huddled around a space heater, and trying to figure out how to keep your toothbrush from freezing overnight.

    Right?

See, that horse head is taking up way more than half of the bed!

And, I can't believe you actually found a picture of cutting an avocado. Poor JRK is going to have flashbacks!

Watching PurePrestige vs Shcmad duke it out on court 4.

Anyone else notice how PP hits his forehand and backhand with the same side of his racquet/strings.

He's our own TW Alberto Berasategui (1994 French Open finalist) with an emo hairstyle

    I'm not sure.

I see a lot of Shcmad Safin expressions.. like this:

Followed by some odd PP expressions like this:

    Think it's anyone's game.

Around Columbia...where in MoCo are you?

Typically if I play someone in MoCo (like TFM), I go for Fairland because 1) it doesn't have membership/guest fee but only court fee, and 2) its closer to them than my HoCo courts.

Another good place to meet up would be Wheaton, but I've never played there outside of a USTA team, so I have no idea how the membership stuff works there though.

Don't think we know each other yet...

I declined an 8.0 MoCo offer due to HoCo Mixed and indoor blocks but I am playing 8.5 combo - will provide more details once I know team ect...my 4.5 partner set it up...

Couple guys from my USTA team played MoCo last year and are trying to bring me on their teams, MoCo tends to be more competitive than HoCo as I'm sure you know...

I'm been a little lazy with TWMAC - need to make it to an "event"

my thoughts after our first match this weekend:
    • i had the masseuse come before the match to give seated massages, but next time, should i have her come after the match?
    • since the next match will be in a much colder bubble, instead of a toasty barn, should i bring carafes of coffee with assorted liquors & whipped cream? or should i bring mulled cider?
weigh in, people. i'm taking my captaining responsibilities very srsly, obviously. tfm, enjoy playing on your two moco teams, you mofo.

    1. I'd vote for massage after the match. Since it's a seated massage, you are not really warming up your body and getting ready for the match. I'd suggest a dynamic warm up as described here in the USTA website: http://www.playerdevelopment.usta.com/content/fullstory.sps?iNewsid=249177&itype=7418

Some types of sport massage may be beneficial pre-match if it's focused on specific things for tennis, but I'm thinking seated massage may not havethis goal (IMHO).

    2. I'd go for the coffee, assuming it's post match.

Any of you guys in the Mid-Atlantic in the Hampton Roads area? I'm a 4.0 player looking for a hitting partner. I get free time @ ODU and can hit just about anywhere in the area. Shoot me a line via my profile here.

    thanks!

your mileage may vary -- but i like a bit of caffeine before a match (okay fine - i like A LOT of caffeine). helps me come out fresh instead of being warm 3 or 4 games into the first set.

Agreed - however - I think those people that drink Soda on the court during the matches are crazy.

nice cup of coffee pre-match - post-match is reserved for beers

Actually, studies have shown that a little caffeine before sports can increase performance... it's just the alcohol Alice was going to add to the coffee would prob be better after the match.

schap -- you ever hit at the circle d? they have a tennis social i go to once in a while on friday nights. from 7pm to 10pm. $20. the tennis is great but even nicer is that they have a bar so between matches you can have a drink or ten. good fun.

downs_chris -- i always try and get a coffee or a red bull or smoke some crystal meth before a match.

JRK -- i always have that not so fresh feeling. we should walk on the beach together and i'll ask you, "JRK, you ever have that, you know, not so fresh feeling?"

just passed wookie on the way back from lunch. he and sappy are apparantly on their way to some lesbian tavern. i'm surprised they didn't call hollywood. guess they want em all to themselves.

Alot of stright chics go to 1esbo bars. They think dudes wont come to hit on them. So if you go to 1esbo bars there aint that much competetion for the straight chics.

Ive never been though, thats just what I hear

...or ten. Nice touch, nice, I'm usually a BYOB type of guy but if we must purchase from the bar then I guess I can spring....
Not a huge Circle D fan but a lot of friends and teammates head there often...I should try though, Friday is usually one of those nights where my wife is always free....for some reason....but may be there this Friday as she is busy....

Can anyone play during the day here?

    shap02,

I cant hit pretty ever. But I will give you a word advice for survival.

Change your Avatar as soon as possible.

Superman to the rescue (Sup2dresq) will probably send a couple Quidos to meet you at your horse. or you may wake up next to a horse head.

Obviously there is no topping Tecmo Bo. But seeing as your boys with TFM and now about this circle D place i figure can you can get close to his avatar.

Plus Id rather see these pics instead of a Superman logo. No offense inteded for either Clark Kent or the man of steel himself.
