hah, even a Donnay injection might not cure Volkl fever.

in typical fashion, I may just retract everything I say, in a couple days, weeks, hours... but I hope not.

I though Donnay-itis was a an incurable disease to start with. Is that like fighting fire with fire? ;)

BTW- Dubs were good last night - wish you and tennismonkey could have made it. There are some good dudes in the night owl rotation - prob a few 4.5+

Played a guy tonight that was a test in patience. He was an older guy - a nice dude - but he took a good 30+ seconds between every point. At one point, he had all three balls and he was going through them like a pro looking for the least fuzzy one. It was good mental focus practice. I can now burn a hole in the ball with the laser like focus of my mind...LOL!

Good to know about the competition. I am hoping *fingers crossed* to get an FFX membership for Xmas. Let's hope this isn't a repeat of the decoy racquet-sized-box-with-no-racquet-in-it present from 2 years ago :(

    Dayam! That's cruel....

The FRC membership is pretty cheap. It's the program/court time that costs.

    Yawn.... need sleep. Later.

It has LOWER court costs. You have to buy into the program or do it on a pay-per play basis. If you join night owl now, the total cost will be pro-rated based on your join date. If you don't buy into the program, they probably just charge $15 every time you play. If the night owl fills up with people who buy in, it may be hard to do drop-in unless another night owl member reserves the court.

just make sure to put your setup in them before hitting the courts- otherwise you could be at risk for embarrassing yourself in front of hackers

Yeah, I think I am getting the Night Owl program- yay no court fees!

Got a couple of C10's- not the new versions.

And I think d_c is chasing after PB 10's. Can't wait to hit the mids!

I figured you would not go with anything new. I thought you may have gotten your hands on some old school Korda frames or something :)

I demoed the PB-10 I doidnt think it was anything special and liked the DNX 10 better. But my friend liked the PB10 alot better stating it was one of the best frames hes ever used while saying the DNX10 felt clubby. I dont know what clubby means but someone once called my 325's "war clubs" cant remeber who may have been tfm. So I guess clubby to me means good for me bad for everyone else.

I remember when you brought the PB MP demo to JRK's for that one meet... Did you ever try the PB Mid?

Also, at least the C10's weren't produced 21 years ago like my current racquet of choice

Never tried the mid baecause the MP wasnt really doing for me plus I I wasnt super confident that 93sq was a good choice anyway. Thats the main reason I didnt get the DNX10s and still havent.

I was gonna demo mids I would probably give the PB10 a try though to see if it was any better than the DNX10. And I still dont know how Ive never demoed a Redondo even though i kept wanting to. I guess Im scared id like them too much and ending up bying a couple.

Until I cant swing the 13oz war clubs anymore Ill lay off trying other stuff.

    Dats,

I'm staying thirsty and resisting posting pics of the ocean and cold beer in buckets next to me. I'm like a corona comnercial. Hopefully I upgrade to the corona island kalypso commercial.

    Good hitting guys.

If you want, I can line up something for the second week of Jan (Monday or Tues) - but it will be night owl (10-11:30) and there will be guest fees. Let me know.

D_C, I was wondering where you went. Maybe it was good I didn't know. <John Witherspoon> don't go in there for another 30 minutes</John Witherspoon>. Nice serving. You were blazing that serve with the "secret" k-blade.

Tennismonkey - WHY!? WHY!?!?!? do you keep going back to Dunlops? You know what you are going to get - an average stick that doesn't do anything great but doesn't do anything that bad either. Dunlops are like the instant oatmeal of the racket world. Keep one O-Zone in your bag at all times. All other rackets are swapable. BTW- The MG PP's feel sweet with a full MT17 string job. ;)

Auzzie - Thanks for partnering up with me. It cracked me up when you were talking to yourself about footwork - I'm like footwork? What's that? As for the sticks. I don't think Babolat is your brand, plus it takes a while at adjust to any stick.

Ugh - does anyone know where I can buy a backhand return of serve?

JRS, D_C still bombing that serve with those 19s huh? daaaayyyyymmmnn!

Agreed on the footwork...there's footwork in tennis? Can someone show me how that's done?

As for me, do they sell forehand return of serves wherever they sell that backhand ros? Thanks!

Also JRS, MT17 is so much nicer and softer than the 16 but doesn't last at all for me. Couple of hours???

I'm using string savers. With string savers, I can get about 13.5 hours out of a full set of MT17. Works for me.

Do you string lower tension to comepnstae for the savers? Have you noticed any differecen in feel with the string savers? Ive always been curious of those things but never tried them. I think it would help with my Bi-phase mains red code crosses set up last a tad longer.

Set something up on a weekend or somethig and ill try to get down to slug a few balls.

Auzzie Ill even hit outside as long as I dont have to serve. My shoulder does not like serving in the cold.

Even with string savers, 13.5 hrs is really impressive for the MT17. I could see that with the 16 but 17? Wow, very nice indeed.

To me, the string savers do make it feel different especially if you have a lot of them in the bed. Those little plastic string savers lessen the feel a little and make the strings feel...plasticky??? lol

I've noticed that the string bed is a little stiffer, which isn't a bad thing since I'm playing with full multi. I don't want it too stiff, so I don't put them at every junction, I alternate to every other one.

Keep in mind, you dont have to put them everywhere, you could even just put them in the places where you will know they will break.

I tried dropping the tension a little, but I think I'm going to bring it back to my standard 55lbs.

I've never been a string breaker.... go figure *shrugs*

Yeah we are starting to have a nice little cohesive team unit forming... at least when I have a Donnay in my hand, D_C gets bored of acing us, and TM isn't laughing at how silly he is making us look.

We could get a nice little frosty mini meet forming. Let's see how many frames we can have sitting at the side of the court.

BTW: Thought it was funny when, A.Y. stopped by the court, and saw the 7 frames on the court chair, and knew they were all mine...
