hey why don't you tell me something i don't know.. tho i do like to use 18.7 mains when i'm on clay.. spanish red clay only, i only flew out last wkd to get some of that red crack on my 20 perfectly balanced and matched gut strung racquets. however i like to switch it up and use 33.56 mains when i'm on the crappy green clay we have here in mid atlantic.

NO, I have a a method to prevent infection. It's called a wife with an MBA ;)

You mean the 2-3 times I got it back all match?

I don't know. Half the time I try to time my split step, move in, sort of go on instinct of where I think it's going, and get a racket on it before it gets above my shoulders. Seems like he likes to hit wide a lot of the time... at least against me.

Sometimes I "think" I can see he's going wide by body position and the position of his racket face. But he still hits a ton of aces and service winners.

If I get it back, sometimes it's just a good old solid shank. LOL!

Still, felt pretty good tonight. Going out 4-6, 3-6 against him is not easy. Felt I served well and had some good solid holds. Hell, maybe I'll get a 4.0 singles win this year!

Looks like you and B had a good match. Pounding solid groundies all match.

BTW- Can you give me B's contact info?

Uh, Dats, you smoking that cabbage these days?

Face it; I'm the only one you know who uses a 5/8" grip - and doesn't complain about it. Speak up when you want to deal. :)

Yeah that's a great result. He's such a solid player... so many weapons and so much offense.

B and I were exhausting each other royally. I had a point to kind of put the match away, but actually started cramping in both calves going for the backhand. And we only played for an hour and a half!! Other than that it was the type of tennis I love. Long points, lots of running, and tons of effort. I haven't really played that type of grueling tennis alot lately. I miss it.

I'll play with 5/8 grips for $11 shipped in the ConUS!

when are we hitting with the demos????

LOL! It's hard to find a player that can hang with you as far as movement and consistency. Sounds like I'll be facing Bizarro Auzzie in about a week and a half.

BTW- Racquets shipped, but it was a real learning experience.......

I tried the old, tape two USPS Priority boved together thing, but the postal guy put a stop to that.

Went to the UPS store to get a box and it was a good size, but way too deep. Cost a ton to ship and the sticks would be ratteling around. I could cut it down at home, but problem was I promised to ship it today, so I paid to have it cut down and my sticks wrapped real nice by UPS.

I promised the buyer that I would ship it USPS priority, so I went back to the post office. Postage was $36 with the box cut down to size. Shipping/packing cost really took a big bite out of the sale.

Don't know how you guys do it with that the racquet shipping and trading????

!!!!! Nuts !!!!! Costs 1/4 that to ship 99% of the time even for 2 frames using the 2 box taped together job. I have a bunch of those boxes at my house...free from the USPS. Never had a problem with them, not sure why your guy gave you hell for that???

Tennismonkey told me the same guy put the slap down on him when he tried the same thing. Guess times are hard at USPS, probably watching their cost closely.

    Like I said, learning experience....

    Oh well.

The reason they are free is because they are for Flat rate shipping. Since you are not using them for flat rate I guess the guy gets mad that people who are using the free boxes to make bigger boxes. Next time cut the box down one side and flip it inside out that way you dont see the USPS branding on it and see if he takes it.

If not just try a different Post Office.

Yeah try a different Post Office, and definitely make sure you get the non-flat rate boxes, which you can stack and tape together. Best one is Arlington PO, let me get away with anything!

You can get USPS Priority Shipping boxes in 10 packs shipped to you for free. I also just log into my PayPal account & use the shipping via USPS option to calculate/print out shipping costs. Plus the shipping fees are also discounted vs going to the post office counter. I then just leave it for my mailman to pickup or drop it off at the post office counter without having to wait in line, etc...

pleeeease don't even get me started on the post office.

my local one is sooo busy by people using it as their bank trying to get money orders and even worse is when the customers ahead of you all want passports and only speak spanish and the employess pretty much only speak vietnamese. it is a real time suck!

so i went to a different post office recently and i wrote the label on last minute while in a loooong line. i wanted to make sure the address didnt get smudged so i asked at the beginning if the worker could put a piece of clear tape over it. he said "sure". i waited and waited and decided that i wasn't going to sign my receipt until he did it... meanwhile the line grew behind me and the lazy worker wasn't budging off his seat. so i asked him again to put the tape on and he said since i didnt TRUST him, i needed to go buy a reel of tape and put it on myself. i basically told the guy to eff off, and i decided to buy insurance on the package so i didnt get skrewed on the deal.
i guess i am untrusting, but when you look and act as lazy as this guy, who doesnt move any faster than a slug even though the line is out the door... i wanna see my tape applied in person!!!

geesh.. now i am all worked up!

no buyers for my racquets. i really want to use IG Speed or YY200 but i have a closet full of sticks. gah!
i might have to resort to dennischan style and include a pair of slightly soiled shorts to entice buyers!

    Thanks for the hit Auzzie.

Dayam! You were killing the ball. Anything that was remotely short was gone. I was thinking I might get a few rally balls off of what I thought were deep shots, but no luck. LOL!

i'm surprised auz didn't quit tennis after he was destroyed by sap and dats over the weekend. sap's perfectly timed (never late on the swing.. amazing!) inside-out backhand blasts combined with dats' skillful topspin lobs. such a thing of beauty!

i guess our high caliber of tennis inspired him to play everyday to improve.
i am glad we could help him realize what level he needs to get to if he is really gonna hang with the big boys.

All you racquet junkies - besides TW, where are some other places you look for used sticks?

I'll be on the hunt for a used Head Presitge Pro MG (4 5/8 ) soon.

Saw one on e-b-a-y the other day, but not sure if I'm going to spring for it.

FWIW - seems like these sticks move pretty fast here on TW.

    :-?

def not what was said or meant...

yeah I've never been quite sure why you like moonballing when we are just hitting around and practicing, I guess now I know you mean to do that
It was actually awesome practice having you two toy with me and make me run around the court. I need more days like that to get back up to speed.

TW FS/FT is the best and maybe try posting a Wanted Post. Sometimes people come out of the woodwork with frames for you.

sap, o fellow tennis player extraordinaire... either i'm getting old or that video is totally inappropriate! kind of like when ke$ha is nominated by nickalodeon kids choice awards when all her songs are about getting banged by jukebox after chugging a bottle of jack. glad i don't have kids!

auz? moonball? well, it is time for another acta season.. so gotta practice!

i somehow herniated a disc and have back spasms just from sitting too long on the couch last night. oooooo getting old suXXxXX

hopefully will get Kblade, RDiS100MP, RDiS200, and igSpeed18 next tuesday for demo week! anybody got vcore yet? hint hint? dunno why TW can't string up a frame and call it a demo. cheapskat8z

Hmmmm..... If it's the speed IG I might have to give it a swing when you get the demo. I'm sure that extra 2 sq inches will make me a 4.5 for sure.... ;)

might've found a buyer for RDiS mids. w00t
not 1 bite on any of my talktennis classifieds. even though
i am being dumb and considering selling my xXxtremes even though
    i play okay with them.
thank goodness for craigslist where people actually BUY things!
c'mon 9/10 youtek extremes and nobody is interested? ridixXxulous!

the 5/8 yonex i understand because talktennis classified section is trolled mainly by justin biebers and dennischan, but somebody should want 3/8 xXxtremes. nutters.

oh well, i should probably learn to keep all racquets for 5 years since i might
go back to rdis100mp just like i went back to extremes just like i have gone back to yonex mids time and time again. har.
i think it proves that a manufacturer can slap a new coat of paint on a racquet and say it has ultigre fibres in it and i will buy it!

but i think if i played with igSpeeds and yyMP frame for a while i would be fine.. hopefully i can decide on just one though. i think i like the igSpeed for forehands and volleys and yyRDMP for serving and backhands. gah!

JRS.. lets set up a mini-meet.. next Sat? string up a PrestigeMP with all poly please! ;)
HW, bring the grill! somebody locate JRK and get him to come out. i miss gumby!

I can also vouch for posting in the wanted section. And keep bumping it up, too. That was how I found more kTours last year.

I can ask MrsJRK if gumby can come out and play.

he fell off the face. after lois lane died in infinite crisis miniseries series 5, sup went crazy and went on a binge drinking spree along with hooking up with random pick up from glatatical bars... only to realize that lois lane can never be replaced and the last word she uttered ""It's... not... going..." would mean that they would meet again in another life

    the end

I'll see if mission control lets me out of the house... LOL!

BTW- I only have Prestige Pros. I need to burn through all this string I bought so I'm going to try out Mantis Comfort next, but I'm def going back to at least one stick W/ Poly for the big hitters.

Oh yeah, the sitcks I sold JUST made it to Texas this AM. Better be delivered by tonight.

After a 5 minute conversation with USPS's automated system I finally got through to a real person. She tried to tell me priortity was 2-3 days estimate with a max of 5 days.

I'm like your website says "IT WILL BE DELIVERED" in 2-3 days. I even had her pull up the website, which says nothing about 5 days. Then she tried to tell me the wording would have been too long for the website...SMH!!!!

BTW- Paulman must have minions scrubbing the web for racket sales. I talk to him last night and he already pointed me to a posting - How do you do it???
