Sup, Almagro and Berdych already happened. That's Djoko, not Berdych. Little early for that much whisky isn't it?

Downs, excellent, I'll bring my spectating chair and save you some pink stuff. (Its a drink, people)

Sappy, your comment has me thoroughly confused. Don't make me post pictures from my OB book up to keep you in line.

Also, Down, I'm gonna bring my new purty racquet...you can play me left handed after your match!

Its burning a hole in my racquet bag!

    Hahaha yeah I know.

Downs and I've done tons of drinking before playing tennis too - definitely not the best results! lol

JW Red is pretty harsh stuff. Black is way better for just a lil more. Green is OK. Gold is quite good but not for $80/bottle or whatever the hell it is now. And Blue is way way pricey now at close to $200 but it does go down (Downs?) very easy - almost tea-like.

i'm not going to say it...haha

but yes, 1 or 2 beers, and you can still function pretty well...3 beers and up gets questionable....

Downs. I played Topaz left handed. It's a good workout. Lots of calories burned going up to the net to retrieve the ball from the other side. Phew.

On that note: 3 drop shot recipes. I find them delicious and funny at the same time. Brings back memories like Claire Forlani

Jager Beer Bomb - very very popular. This saturday it will be overdone. I am pretty positive I won't remember St.Patrick's day.

Hairball - It sounds nasty but I'll try it soon. Cider, Guiness and Whiskey.

Carjacker- Shoot me now. Cognac and Malt Liquor.

Ironically- A lemon drop isn't a drop shot.

The Pure Drive is a nice racquet. I took the demo out and it was nice. It just has too much power for me to tame. However, the whole south florida area has gone PD crazy. Everyone is coverting. A frenzy of those racquets everywhere. I think I saw them as a giveaway at seven eleven after your 12th slurpee purchase (kidding). I'm a big fan of pure drives.

How are your splits coming along?

You are totally right about it being Djoke. Was on another thread talking about the Berdych/Almagro match.. and whether Berdych shook his hands afterwards this time. Oh the drama that tennis can be.

...and its not early for whiskey during spring break week. The beach smells heavily of sun tan and warm beer. yummm...

Red only because of the pic. Evil Superman. I haven't tried any of the others.

Typical shot at the club bar. Jack Daniels. Me and my fellow Italian crazy doubles partner played a 4.0 doubles team. We took shots every third game. It went the distance to a third set tiebreaker, where we lost.. and I almost lost it in the corner of the court. Topaz, your partner Kelly was on the other side.

My drinking experience and math should be right. Typical person: For every beer you drink you lose .3 games progressively. So by the third drink, you'll handicap yourself -1 game against your typical result. The math also takes into account hydration for one's. Add sun and no water = x2. Substitute a shot (hard liquor) for beer = x4.

My goodness, I can't keep up with the posts today!

NO. Paul Man. NO HAPPY HOUR BEFORE MATCH. After match, yes. You should come out. My team travels with its own cooler.

Last time I consumed a lemon drop = last month. It was a vodka shot with a lemon in it.
Last time I consumed JW Blue = two weeks ago.

    Hey, I'm a student.

Tell Kelly and Tony I said hello.

My splits are coming along nicely, thank you...no complaints so far.

Hey welcome lurker Eightmarky! BTW, Abe from Texas may have had that avatar before Downs. Correct me if I'm wrong, Downs?

BTW, how's the new baby sleeping these days? Hopefully through the night by now!

Paulman and Downs. Follow what your gut says. Its not just an hour.. its a HAPPY hour. Don't you want to be happy? Though alcohol is a depressant.

Maybe you are too happy. You need to be less happy. Like a boxer. Remember Rocky III. Rocky was super happy and got soft. Then mister T came around and was hunger. He was not happy. He probably came from Happy Hour right before he beat Rocky. Rocky then went off with Apollo, who definetly looks like a whisky drinker. Maybe even a Carjacker shot kind of guy. Then he got unhappy and beat up a less unhappy mister T.

So the math goes. The less unhappy you are (x) plus alcohol(-y) will yield less mistakes in your mind from being too happy ( =>0). So the closer you are to miserable, the better your tennis results. Excluding tolerance and whether this is mixed doubles. If its mixed doubles then you definetly need to drink.

So go drink at Happy Hour and vanquish those glorious feelings. Don't be like Rocky. Get Direct TV.

    Topaz,

A lemon drop is a shot but not a drop shot. Drop shot include some sort of liquor dropped into a glass of alcohol. You need to come up with a topaz drink that will inspire the kimmy in you. Something belgian, drop in something german, and play the voilin at the same time.

No complaints with splits? oh my. Hopefully those judging aren't as harsh looking at Steven Tylyer.

I can see we've all moved on.

    Good.

Drinking and Tennis. Ah, yes. I, too, am a fan of brown liquor...but bourbon instead of whiskey, blended or otherwise. We used to have lesson on Sunday afternoons at some nearby courts that I could ride my bike too. I'd show up half hour early...with a pitcher of Manhattans.

    Those were the days.

wow the only alcohol I use is sherry to marinate meats on the BBQ.
I use to buy this scotch for my dad. its called grandpa something... I forgot. I just buy the stuff, didn't really had an interest in it.
but I want to invest in a case of Mouton Rothschild for my kid. Kinda like give it to him for his 21ist bday. thought it'll be pretty neat. historically this Bordeaux has always appreciated.

But you played great Downs! You had the other dude muttering under his breath more than once. But wow, that chick was AWESOME at the net! After a while I was kinda glad it was you on that court and not me! (sorry!)

    Thanks for the short hit!

You coming, too? Didn't know; will tell my daughter to stock up on scotch at her bar. They already have plenty of Jack Daniels.

To everyone else, guess yesterday's flurry wore everyone out; it was inspired prose, I must admit.

Feels the same as the demo, whew!!! You always wonder, you know, when you buy it 'for real', but I did give the demo a good try out.

    Will use it tonight!

Have you checked out the 8.0 standings? INSANE!!!

2 and 3 play each other next week, though I am quite sure 2 will take it. Thought I'll be rooting for 3!!!

It was almost as close last year. We finished in 4 I think, and then got knocked out in the first round of playoffs. I HATE playoffs.

Shall I repeat my Happy Hour idea?

Was that girl too much to try to even the scale? Do you need to run on the beach with Paulman beforehand? Does JRS have to check your breath?

Sappy, finally huh? My last video game that I played more than a couple times was Diablo 2 series. I had 3 or 4 level 99 characters on Battlenet East back then...>10 years ago lol. Doubt I'll even have time to try 3 out but it does look good.

i've pre ordered regardless but the description leaves a lot to be desired..

    1. 4 players only per map (diablo 2 allowed 8 .)
    2. no lan
    3. constant connection to blizzard
    4. no more attributes.

is it me or games are just not as fun as it used to be.. maybe the death og gaming is the fancy vid card.

Sappy, didn't know about those details. Diablo LAN parties back in the day were awesome after work! And I suppose only 4 party players on a screen is all they'll allow due to graphics or ??? Definitely puts a damper on outlook.
