Heading to the ball park and those world-famoud BBQ nachos. Sorry, CB, couldn't resist hitting a few with HW today since he drove so far. But didn't let him run me any, and he doesn't like the Ys. Good news for Auzzie. :)

that is awesome HW & Xis!

that burger does seem to have a preponderance of grease!
    what was the verdict?

downs, i played with your buddy/my neighbor. it was a lot of fun and i did pretty well considering i have a messed up toe (why i continued to wear adidas' that were way to small.. and it caused this injury.. aaaargh) and haven't played in a month.

if only i could learn the kick serve.... he was very nice in trying to help me cuz his form is perfect. but no matter what i try, my 65mph curve ball comes off the racquet like a 90mph heater.. but at least i only double faulted 1 time in 2 sets.

p.s. - downs i thought you got bumped up? wut is this 4.0 stuff? did i miss something? from wut i hear u have no business being on a court with a bunch of hackers like me! (ok truthfully i try to play 3.5 if possible!) plz explain with charts, graphs, and diagrams.

next saturday... twmac meet. wakefield high school 2pm. everybody be there!

that burger does look good...we need a TWMAC meet up...with tennis and food...maybe a grill? who wants to make the food?

you hit with the aceholes captain? nice...he's a super nice guy...really crafty on the doubles court from the few times i've seen him play...definitely knows what he's doing...you still hitting with the candy cane frame?

as for the bump -- nope! i'm a computer rated 4.0! haha, a lot of people didn't get bumped this year...kind of strange, but oh well...still going to do 4.0 while i can...and 4.5 at the same time too...

my patio is available for after meet BBQ. i dont have a quasimodo grill though.
but my chicken tikka kabobs turned out pretty well last night.

sappy is welcome to come over and dump food all over my patio, as usual.

mr.chris, im still using the vcore95. great for serves and forehand, but i could use the 98 or 100 on 2 handed backhands. i get a lot of off center hits and feels like i am framing most backhands. not sure why. but honeybadger dont care. paint is holding up pretty well for the number of framed balls ive hit out of play!

Hey planning to order some strings. has anyone played with Volkl VPro 18g's? Question is how soft of a co-poly is it? I really like Forten Sweet 17g's and how responsive it is? Really like Rip Control too. But it's $10/set. Don't want to spend above $8.

I've become a big fan of Booeymongers. Close to work and nice outside seating area that is away from the noise and craziness of M St. Today I had a Californian wrap and a side of broccoli salad. Good stuff.

    I work Saturdays. :(

HW safely on his way back east after what I hope was a pleasant visit. He brought and left some of his famed Natty Bos, for which I am thankful. It's not bad beer.

Dats, grease burger was, to me, disappointing. Had better, here and elsewhere - Fuddrucker's and local place called Huey's, for instance. Best part of Dyers was the saucy waitress we had, skinny little black woman who couldn't understand why the younger workers there "can't count money." She used some flowery language in describing the younger generation, and HW and I were both thoroughly entertained. Left her a bit tip, too.

Ball park was fabulous, even though home team lost. Fireworks afterward were loud, colorful, and a great way to end an evening.

Auzzie, even though HW doesn't like the Ys (too much power and too light), I do kinda like them for hitting with power hitters like HW. They are not very good for hitting with softies like me; I have to provide all the power, and I ain't got none. :) Therefore, jury is still out.

    Saturday night in Memphis =

My only problem with the burger is that the is not enough meat. I should have gotten the triple. Taste wise I thought it was really good. The Chili cheese fries were plain though.

If you like burgers with the thinner patties its up there. If you like 1/4 and bigger patties you will probably not like Dyers.

Memphis was a pretty cool town.

I was happy to see the stupid St Louis team lose becuase I dont like the cardinals. And the team they played was an Astros team and I like the Astros (Bagwell was the man).

And that catcher that sucked real bad is 1-29 on the year.

Who'll share whose beer? I thought there were things like fast car incentives for Nationals wins...

Yeah compared to HW's 15 oz sticks, he probably didn't feel anything in his hand! Have you tried softer strings in there for more power?

Not yet; this stupid tendonitis keeps me from getting any consistent time on the court, so I haven't been able to experiment as much as I need to. What soft strings would you recommend? I don't have anywhere near your expertise on strings and such. :)

Good to see HW made it back okay and is posting with his usual blunt and witty voice.

No camera tricks, just abundant grease. And the triple is even bigger. Nashville to Memphis, about 200 miles as the crow flies, but don't know about monkeys. The road is all paved, too. :)

Just took the country test on another thread and got Sweden; looking forward to chillin' with my brother Bjorn, cousin Stefan, best bud Mats, and new BFF Lisbeth Salander. Only in the summer, though; can't stand that cold weather. Brrrrrr.

Maybe there's an 8.0 mixed team there that needs a dynamite lady player; whoever administers the quiz obviously doesn't think you play enough team tennis. :)

i think the best part of that monster greaseburger is that it's entirely healthy for you.

CB -- went to that filipino restaurant on friday. i give it 4 out of 5 stars. food was good, cheap and service was great. brought the munchkins too with no problems. we'll go back to try their lunch buffet next time.

Its the typical strikerforce JR camera trick.

Took me about 2.5 hours to leave light man X's house and get to nashville. So probably three hours to memphis.

I should have got some ribs from that randevous place. But there is only so much time. They made the BBQ nachos at the ball park and the pork was great. Im sure those ribs are legit. I'd say if you are close as nashville make the trip get a grease burger take in the sight of memphis and get some ribs

I have survived my first round of sedation dentistry.

Youngest got her Dad's not-so-good teeth, flaky enamel and all. Can you see this: a 3-yr old, loopy on meds, singing....Down By the Bay...where the watermelon grows...at the top of her lungs insisting it was HER turn. Most of the other parents tried to suppress their giggles; I never bothered and burst out laughing.

It's taken her several hours for it to all wear off but she seems OK. Only the checkbook is in a pile of hurt.

    Hope all are well.

haha. i think kids should be sedated more often. i've often wanted to come home after a long day at work and have a beer with my kids. or maybe a frozen strawberry margerita. a little bonding over booze with the kids.

had root canal -- no sedation -- 2 weeks ago. surprisingly not painful. not comfortable but it didn't hurt. gets a bad rep.

Had 2 wisdom teeth pulled during my first year in Navy, mainly so the dentist could get some practice cause they were in excellent shape, 4 small cavities since. Nuttin else. That's the facts, Jack. :)

tmonk: The Filipino place serves pretty homey foods. I heard they have more variety during their weekend buffets. I had alot of their fried egg rolls there. The other stuff was pretty much in some kind of sauce. I still owe sap a buffet review of the hibachi there. hmmm.. maybe i can cut and paste from yelp. wondering if he'll notice?

My ankles are so tired today. Went to feed tennis balls to my young son yesterday. I am amazed how hard kids can hit nowadays.

Had extra kalbi marinate I made last friday. Tonight, i have 2 slabs of ribs that I had the butcher cut through the bone and grill it. Afterwards, I put it in the slow cooker. We'll see tonight how it goes.

I am in love with my latest kitchen gadget. Disposable Slow Cooker Liner. Wow.. takes so much work out of cleaning!

i'd think it'll be more of a female crockpot condom as

    1. it's large
    2. you can re-use it multiple times with multiple ingredients
    3. it's only 97% effective against pregnancy
    4. it does not stop the spread of std

You sound like me, but they removed all 4 of my wisdom teeth.

But I think overall dentists like our kind, all we do is go in there get a cleaning, takes what like 30 minutes. They bill the insurance company 400 bucks and accept like 250.

CB -- d3? hells to the yes. pre-order? nope. digital download. got a buddy who is getting the collectors edition. comes with a soulstone shaped flash drive.

HW -- i hear that car shops telling you to change your oil every 3 months or 3000 miles is mostly a crock too. i hear it's mostly a way for these places to make money and you can go far longer than that on regular oil. thoughts?
