i wanna go out for lunch but it's hot and i'm elderly and i have been warned to stay inside.

plus there's a lot of bitterness and disatisfaction in the twmac lately. i think we've forgotten what's important. it's not health care reform or what knot is better to tie off a racquet or why JO is superior to old bay or even how the heck nadal loses to a guy ranked 100th in the world. most important: what's for lunch?

Eff Lunch.

Now thats important

you'd think ESPN would have learned after the "chink in the armor" Jeremy Lin fiasco to avoid that symbolism when describing sporting events involving east asian people

I can see your point.

So there is somethign wrong with one of these senatnces?

TFM (god rest his soul) had a huge chink chink in his armour and that was his appetite kepping his fitness level at a sub par level.

That HW just eats too much and is out of shape, If his fitness was better he would elimate that huge chink in his armour and probbaly hit better volleys and backhands becasue he would be not tiresd and in better postion all the time.

I also like saying huge in front of chink becuase a chink by defintion is a small crack that can prove fatal. By saying huge chink I am pretty much saying its not a chink at all but just a regular hole or crack. But I have to use adjedtives at a 6th grade level whenever possible.

anyone know if the courts at college park have AC in them? I have a match there tomorrow afternoon...normally it looks like they just open the side and let the air in...but that's at night...hmm

has anyone ever been to "DC Boathouse" on MacArthur blvd a little bit east of Sibley?

I've been there before it was called that. This was years ago, can't even remember what I ate... some kind of sandwich.

Kerber looks like she could squat 500 lbs.

This girl Watson looks like my youngest cousin.

Yes I have black cousins.

I just finished shooting at the NRA range, stepped outside into the 105 heat, and had a flashback to my time spent in the Horn of Africa.

Yes, the Horn of Africa is just like Black Hawk Down except it was in the 140's.

Dats,

What's the name of that pizza place we went to a couple times? The guys there would giggle at our beer consumption during the middle of the day. Good pizza.

When I was still with the FBI, we would go to Pi for pizza. The pizza was okay but they have a pretty good beer selection.

Downs, TCCP can and does get quite warm. Be ready for it tomorrow. Even with the sides open, the courts get hot.

Played a tournament match inside during the afternoon...it was hotter than outside than outside.

You in MD playoffs? My team is too...have one tonight and one Sunday.

Good luck!

HWood, perhaps you should move to another country.

I hope you never care about another person who isn't a 'millionaire' like you.

Couldn't finish our playoff match due to the lights going out in Wheaton bubble. This has the potential to be a mess! Kinda like my drive home!

Stay safe Mac'ers!

My tennis buddy, ex Memphis State U. playing lady who made the men's team, asked me to be a sub with her today at a place called the Memphis Hunt and Polo Club. Turns out it's one of those "old money" clubs so exclusive there isn't even a sign on the street showing where it is.

One of the tennis-playing members is Fred Smith, founder and CEO of FedEx; his Memphis home is just around the corner. Didn't play with or against him today, but the members did ask me back to play again Tuesday and maybe on a permanent substitute basis. Imagine that.

BTW, we played outside on clay for two hours, the last hour in 99-degree heat index. Then we moved inside for a final set. My team won all three sets. :)

Lost power around 9pm last night... has yet to come back on. Checked into the W for the next few nights (or until the power comes back on). They allow pets.

Smart move; you guys without power take care out there. So far here, just heat, no power outages.

I've seen at least 5 other people from my apt building at this hotel. I guess everybody has the same idea. Too bad this place doesn't have a pool.

Downs, are they sending you to Gaithersburg?

They tried to do that to us for us to finish our playoff match. We couldn't do it, so the results are going in as timed when the lights went the lights went off. That means we lose. But we still get to play for third place and a spot at districts!

And I'm noticing that I'm having lots of trouble closing out sets and matches. I was up and serving for the set at 5-4. When the lights went out it was 5-7, 2-4. :(

Ms sisters power has been off as well. Mine must have went out for second.

I had a tough day bowling yesterday. It was best of 5 match play so one on one.

Bowled a 245 first game and lost because

missed some easy spares 2nd game and lost

Bowled a 278 second game and freaking lost

Both games I actually shutout power but could couldnot seal the deal. First game went X X 6 in 10 when 9 would have assured me a tie.

3rd game had first nine strikes then went 9 / 9 in tenth frame to leave the door open for him. had i threw the first strike I would have no worse than 280 and won. That guy still had to throw his 3 strikes to beat in those games and did. All in all that was my best 3 games in a row I ever bowled. And this is like would be like a 5.5 bowler compared to my 3.5 But the competetor in me is mad I did not get the job done.

Hopefully you guys do better at tennis that when you get the chance you take advantage and run with it and seal the deal.

Well, management sent out an email... power has finally been restored.

That's good news but I was kinda getting used to hanging out at the hotel bar with my dog.

For all you single guys, get a dog and hang out at a bar.

Zap - I said dog, not hot dogs.

Just got back from hitting with my NYC.
tmonk: Found a new stick for you! This stick slices are sick!

Groundies are good and plow great after mod'ed to put 0.7 oz of lead mods in 95 degree heat.

Like I said, I smelled bacon and ran right in to avoid frying any further.

no new sticks for me CB. i haven't hit in 2 weeks and it feels glorious. plus the wife and kids are at the beach so i have the house to myself. being single is where it's at folks.

i forgot wimbledon likes to take a break in the middle. it's annoying. i am watching serena/zie and even though i know she wins -- i keep hoping she doesn't.

Topaz we played in Gaithersburg in that warehouse. Kind of neat an weird at the same time.

We won all our playoff matches 3-2 in md and we're going to districts! Had to play three single matches on a bum ankle.

We have to win our next one to go. But we don't know when it is yet.

MD districts is nice in that you can stay at your own home!

Gonna watch Shriekapova play Lisicki. Any way to mute the players' while still keeping the commentary??? lol

Somebody needs to create a smart app/feature for that and sell it to the TV manufacturer's. I'd pay extra for that! Whatever's left of my sanity is worth it! haha

EDIT: Lisicki is now my favorite ladies player! She plays pretty much totally quiet in contrast to Shriekapova. Not special as a looker but a owns a great serve and overall a very good player.

DC power is mostly underground so at least i didn't have any issues. there were some downed trees and i felt like a m-fing hero lugging up and down my block with a m-fing chainsaw.. should of just put on a m-fing cap and spandex to run on top of roof tops.

Our lines are underground and we lost power for about a day. And it went out before the storm actually hit.

There are still many sections of Arlington and Alexandria without power. Lots of debris still too. Sappy you could make bank with your chainsaw!
