    They shook hands, but it was pretty quick.

    Actually, I thought it was a lot more interesting to watch than the first debate and the moderator actually stood up and pushed back to getting talked over.

    BTW- why do hole in the wall restaurants have the best food?

    Went to a African resturant out in Columbia, MD over the weekend. They only had splenda and no sugar so I had to run down the street to another restaurant to grab some sugar packs for my wife. Service was horrible. We were about the only ones there, yet it took forever to get a drink refill.

    But man, was the food good when it came!

    We had a side of Moi Moi (http://www.allnigerianrecipes.com/beans/moi-moi-moin-moin.html) and ordered 3 extra to go.

    The Egusi Soup (http://www.allnigerianrecipes.com/soups/egusi-soup.html) with pounded yam was really good too.

    Yup,

    Either the server was lazy or stupid. They said they didn't have any sugar. We talked to the owner later and she said they could have gotten some sugar from the kitchen.

    Food was good but service was horrible. Don't see the place lasting long in spite of the good Nigerian food.

    JRS--- watch out dude... some theory has it that the YAMS eaten by many african tribes strongly influence the large percentage of TWINS!!!!

    did u bring the kiddies out too? how are they doing?

    i know u watched the USvGUA match. My favorite player on the team is Bradley. I don't watch a lot of soccer so a few years ago I thought he was only on the team cuz his dad was the coach, but he is a really good player.
    He's got great touch on the ball, is unselfish, and really smart out there. Faster than I thought too...

    ~~~~~ AUZ
    auz, i did another extensive demo and tried to like the RDIS200 better than anything. there was a stretch where i was using the RDIS200 strung with BBO and it felt really good but i think the racquet has just a little too much power and could use a few more strings in it for control. if i was a little better, i think the 200 would be a better stick for taking control of points... but at my level, just being able to keep the darn ball in the court after some hacker puts some whacky spin on a mid court ball is what i need.
    the whole time i demoed, the IGSpeed felt good. Never super powerful, but always kept the ball in the court and i could serve with it and it doesnt hurt my wrist. It was strung with FXP16 which is a string that i used to try to use (and it would break in 5 minutes of hitting) but it held up fine. I should have restrung it with poly, but since we demoed it years ago with poly and i liked it then too, i didn't bother.
    the point is, the IGSPEED is the best racquet for me. i cancelled my donnay demos and i am going to get them when the go on sale. they are already on sale in europe, so i hope in NOV they will be on clearance. i shoulda listened to the Oz-man years ago when he told me to get them. DOH!
    Auz, save some court time during November for 3 hour reston slug fest!
    Now that I've settled my racquet dilemma, I will be king of the mac once again! muahahahahaha
    ~~~~SAP
    im hungry. i know your driving to home depot soon. cmon. don't forget about your buddy! p.s. - i got a guy that could install those shower doors for 50bucks. wooo
    darn cheating chinese making those cheap electronics and taking us jobs! grrrr!

    can i tell a story??? probably totally inaproppriate but the debate reminded me of it...
    i was in Guitar Center and some stoner dood was in the acoustic guitar room with me. we were debating a korean made guitar and i was saying it wouldn't hold its value cuz its not made in USA and might not be made of the best wood and he said it didnt matter cuz it was probably made better cuz them koreans have "smaller hands".
    do we really want "big-handed" usa blokes assembling our iphones???? vote obama 2012!!! :)

    dats --

    i found the rdis 200 to be inferior to the rdis 100. just a bit too much pop and not enough control. i also loved the ig speed 18x20 but i made the mistake of playing it with full poly. it wrecked my wrist for months. too bad because it was a blast to play with. made crazy THWACK sounds when hitting flat bomb serves. maybe a good candidate for hybrid string job. i'm liking my donnay silvers so far. extremely maneuverable and a huge sweetspot. i am sticking with these for the time being.

    what's for lunch people?

    LOL! I knew it was the yams!!!!

    I watched the US match last night while working out at the Gym. Yeah Bradley is really a great player. You know he's playing for Roma in Italy and starting in the midfield. His experiences in the dutch league and his current play at Roma have increased his soccer IQ. Honestly, he's the key player for our team. Our midfield has no flow without him. He also paired well with Danny Williams in the midfield.

    I'm still ticked that Altidore was left off the squad. "Grown Azz Man" Eddie Johnson can score vs. the Concaf minnows, but he's not competitive vs. world class competition. Altidore is currently leading the dutch league in scoring, and he's young so he has a lot of up side.

    Hey, Dats. I got an RDIS200 that I don't like. You want it? Only problem: it has a man-sized grip (5-eighths), and I don't know if you can handle that. But you can have it if you want it. :)

    I love the Speed line. Just no nonsense frames and solid all around. Plus the control really comes in handy for sticky situations. But unlike alot of other controlled frames, it's not super heavy and unwieldy. I think Speed frames suit alot of player types.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5H1jZwl4vkY

    thumber's brother has been a couple time because he apparently knows the girl whom married the son. he's been teasing me with pictures and i have penciled it in on my to do list next time i'm there.

    lol. that doesn't even rate coolblue.

    sapient and i had lunch last year at a sushi joint run by and owned entirely by mexicans. it was not entirely good. and by entirely, i mean not a bit. and by good, i mean awful.

    it would be similar to what would happen if sapient and i decided to open and run our very own nigerian restaurant making all of JRstriker's favorites. especially since:
    1 - we have never seen or had nigerian food.
    2 - we have never made nigerian food.
    3 - we are not especially good at making food in general.
    4 - we are not nigerian.

    sap -- i raved about that documentary a while back. it's on my very short list of things to do before i die. or in this case - before jiro dies.

    and thumber's brother has been to the main restaurant or the half price mirror image son of godzilla restaurant?

    I watched jiro. He rules! Twmac field trip! Id even slum it and go to his sons place or an ex employee.

    I'm about to walk down to dsg cuz I hear they have IG speeds for 50% off. I'll prolly be disappointed but I gotta check.

    entirely = not a bit

    so plugging it back into the original sentence

    "it was not (not a bit) good" -- double negative...therefore it was good! mmm...food....

    wow what a quinky dink. I saw it on Monday on Amazon Prime subscription. It's really quite revealing on how devoted Jiro is and how much respect he gets in his community. My fav line is when one of his former students responded when asked about how he felt about his boss after years of working for him: "Let's put it this way, I would not sleep with my feet toward's him." I was like... "whoa...."

    But also very funny when a tourist came in and ask if they serve appeitizers and soup? Jiro's son said, "No, ONLY SUSHI..." Man, it must be tough BBQ'ing them Nori sheets everyday.

    I wanted to go to this sushi shop near MacArthur Blvd:
    http://www.yelp.com/biz/makoto-restaurant-washington

    Have to take off shoes and turn off cellphone. If the sushi chef does not like you, you will be sitting there forever with no food.

    I was at DSG a few weeks back and was waiting in line to pay for something. There was this asian guy waiting in the next line over. He was buying tennis balls. I've seen this guy a million times at the various courts around A-town and so has the MAC. In fact I am sure if I were to post a picture of this guy, you would know exactly who he is.

    Anyway...

    I step up to pay for my items and I notice the asian guy is looking around like he's searching for the cashier (who isn't there). He gets pissed and storms over to my line. Not once does he look at me but instead starts yelling at the young girl cashier that is helping me. He says he's been waiting to buy his items but nobody has helped him. She informs him that that cashier line is closed and he needs to get in another line. At this point he starts calling her racist since she doesn't want to let him pay for his items. I tap him on the shoulder and go "dude, she's asian, what the f**k are you talking about?!"

    He looks at me, then back to her, realizes I'm right, and then storms out of the store.

    A few weeks later I see him in my condo... turns out he lives there, lol.

    in honor of jiro's fastidiousness, i sent 2 pieces of white tuna back tonight that looked like it had sat in saran wrap in the fridge for a week. or maybe not in saran wrap at all. bleeeyuch!

    i put my rdis200s on the tt classifieds too.. even though they hit pretty sweet with bbo. monkey, i liked the rdis100mp too...prolly should of tried it with bbo strung lower than usual too for more dwell time. but i do remember absoulutely CRUSHING some serves with it. should of kept 1. doh!

    dsg didnt have anything good on sale. gotta wait for TW to eventually lower the price. they are only $135 on TWE... so i dunno why head won't put them on clearance in the USA. sigh

    Monkey, how is the Silver's upper hoop response? Interested to know if it's basically a slightly stiffer, lighter, more powerful & less HL Gold I had liked a bit last year.

    what you said.

    i demoed the gold as well. silver is lighter and more powerful. kinda surprising power with a HUGE sweetspot. also surprisingly comfy. i had full poly bed in for a week and zap just strung em up with black magic/maxim touch hybrid and they play soft. i'm missing a lot of spin compared to tour bite though.

    i find upper hoop response with the silvers are great - especially compared to my old exo3 tours which were dead in the upper hoop and why even one gram at 12 oclock made a huge difference in playability. i hit high on the stringbed so this contributes a lot to whether i find a racquet powerful or not.

    i also have the customization kit and i like the stick stock but found it for dubs to be a bit too even balance. i liked it best with the 10 gram buttcap and strung up with one overgrip and the donnay vibe damp - it's 330 grams dead even.

    i got two of em and you are always welcome to demo them. shoot me an email.

    it plays fairly nice...like a modern frame -- like a pure drive...maybe not quite as much power...slightly more predictable...still messing with it some...

    Wasup TWMAC!

    Don't know how I did it, but it looks like I'm playing an event at the Mclean Racket and Health club this weekend. It's a 4 hour event, hope my arm doesn't fall off as I haven't played that much tennis recently. Most of all, just hope I don't embarrass myself.

    I also finally switched up the tennis clinic. The 3.5 clinic was more like 3.0 so I tried out the 4.0 clinic and found it to be mostly 4.0 so I switched over.

    So what's for lunch?

    Also shocked to see TM swinging Donnays. Beware TM, we may have to call in a racket intervention in about a decade when those things are held together with duct tape. ;)
