I'll have to check out the draw once its released.

Topaz/downs_chris, were either of you there last year? I wonder if they've finished construction...

Our team is usually strong, but traditionally as a whole, we have an "elbow problem"... (if you don't get the reference, it's the same 'elbow problem' Sam on Cheers had that kept him from playing baseball).

Seems like it's Mo' Tennis Mo' Problems based on AQ's descriptions ;)

    Wish I had that issue.

Lunch for me is grilled chicken breast and a spinach salad with balsamic vinaigrette, walnuts and craisins (cranberry raisins).

Think I'm going to grab some rice or bread to go with that.

Chestnut Forks (I live in Warrenton). We play in the 'Shenandoah' area, which is great because there are only two teams in the league: us & Stonebrooke. We're pretty much guaranteed a trip to Sectionals every year.

So you know Gary Pulino & Vinnie Khera? They're two of our biggest drinkers, although Vinnie got bumped to 5.0.

Who have you played against from Warrenton?

sup -- hah. she's still far above my paygrade but prime claire was a thing to behold. i believe my court giggle is going to be silent in 2013 with not much to giggle about.

mclovin -- i also know GP. for an older ex-davis cup guy he's pretty darn good. big serve too.

Yeah, Gary gives me fits. I actually prefer his 1st serve over his 2nd. I can handle the hard, flat ones, its the huge amount of kick on the 2nd I hate.

His game is sooo similar to Fernando Gonzalez it's scary. I can't tell you how many times he's smacked the lowest percentage shot at the worst possible time, and made it. At this point I no longer call it luck, it's skill.

yep -- i know those two -- played on the same team with both of them and against them as well...i only have 1 win over gary, in 8.5 men's combo...he took me down in a long 4.5 match -- but yeah, his serve and forehand are pretty lethal...in another 8.5 combo he could not miss...when he's hitting the way he does, AND he's not missing -- it's kind of tough...haha

So, do you play @ Ida Lea? If you feel like hitting over the winter, let me know (e-mail is accessible via clicking on my name on the left). Most of my hitting partners have gone back to school.

GP is on my 7.5 team. Yes. You read that right. 7.5.

He's a riot. I know Vinnie was well. Very surprised to see him get the bump but not Gary.

    Quick story about Gary...

So, last year we were at Districts in Norfolk. We had won our 1st match 4-1 and were pretty confident we would win the 3rd match. It was the 2nd match vs NOVA Big Shots we were concerned about, mostly because it was scheduled @ 8AM Sun morning.

Well, Gary shows up at the hotel bar ~ 11PM Saturday night, just as everyone is about to head off to bed. Long story short, Gary buys martinis for everyone, all night. The whole team, except me & my doubles partner, stay up until after 3AM drinking hard.

We finally get Gary out of bed at 7:30 (remember, our match is at 8 ), and I'm the stuckee that has to ride with him. He's driving through Norfolk towards ODU like Mario Andretti the whole time shaking his head saying (heavily accented) 'I probably shouldn't be driving'...

We arrive just as they call the teams, Gary & Vinnie are playing next to us and look like they about to blow chow on the court. We ended up losing the match 3-2, the wins coming from me & my partner and our 4.5 ringer (who's now a 5.0), and his win was a 3rd set tiebreaker vs someone he would have normally beat easily in straight sets.

    I like this Gary already!

I rarely win games drunk or hungover. *awaits sappy challenge while he holds a bottle of gin*

    Seriously! Gary FTW.

GP is no joke. super fun guy to hang out with. at legg mason/citi open in DC this summer GP and me/downs/auzzie's old nova captain both had one or twenty drinks and they nearly got into a fight. it was like fight club only i don't talk about fight club. . .

Gp and old nova coach did?

I've noticed tennis brings out the Napoleon complex in most. Only the ones who look like they should avoid fights seem to be the aggressors.

So saying that. Who started it and who would of won?

P.s. had ribs today for lunch. Yum.

And I would NOT want to mess w/ Gary. My doubles partner would refer to him as 'The Bolivian Necktie'.

Getting bumped ruined my plans of 8.0 with Gary. He volunteered to play 8.5 with me next year (he wasn't drunk). 'Cause he doesn't actually really need a partner at all!

    His legend grows

    Bolivian necktie. I like it

Not drunk. Okay you ruined my next line! *insert drop shot joke*

P.s. Jrk send me a note. Have mixed martial arts question. Like how do counter a Bolivian necktie. Answer: buy Gary the next round.

Btw. Is his name Gary or something like Gabriel (said with a Spanish accent)

    Pass me my dos xx

    You guys are killin' me.

Two Manhattans in and I'm two sheets to the wind. But I play some darned good tennis. Three? Fugetaboutit. Same thing with throwin' darts. Shot of Bacardi...and 7-mark here I come (only hit 2 9s in my "career").

I need a ringer for member-guest mixed. Is Gary available? :p

Everyone is lucky that I didn't win Powerball. I would of gotten sponsorship from all ATP events to make ketchup the official sauce/ vegetable.

Didn't know he was into tennis ;)

Yeah, well my plan was to create a wookie reserve and add a tennis bubble in Endor if I won the powerball.

    Nope....

Haven't had 10 minutes to myself when I get home since my mother in law is visiting another family member and isn't around to help out with the twins. Man, these two don't drop off to sleep until after 10pm.

Sure, I've turned on the Xbox, but I don't get much farther than that - LOL!

Has there been any movies (Non pizzorn) wehre the SIL wants to hook up with MIL? Sometimes in movies the MIL tries to hook up but the SIL shoots it down. havent seen the other way.

What if you were married to Rumer Willis. She has a funny looking face, but Demi Moore would be a pretty good looking MIL. What if you file divorce papers but they are not finalized yet.

What if the wife and MIL are close and share everything?

Beides the fact that im morbidly obese, I dont understand how such a smart out of the box thinker like myself is single.

What's up with that? Ain't you got 'em on a decent schedule yet? Seriously, how many wks old (I can't look back through all the TWMAC pages to find out)...and what are the other sleep/lack of habits? 10pm is too late...for the kiddies...and the parents. :p Although somewhere in the fog that is newborn maintenance, I vaguely remember staying up 'til 11pm for the "last" feeding...and they could then make it through to about 5am. But that was around the 8-wk mark, I think.

My non-parent sibs give me and hubs grief when we tell them not to call the house after 9pm. 'Cause the kids have already been o-u-t for at least an hour and we're ready to call it a day too.

We're all up, bright-eyed and, well, ya know, at 6am. Everyday. Even on weekends. At least until here recently when we've started leaving out the cereal box and making sure the soymilk container is on the fridge's bottom shelf and has enough, but not too much in it. Hubs and I both stayed in bed til 7:30am two weeks ago for the first time. Ah! We got to sleep in and the kiddies thought they were all that for fixing their own breakfast and negotiating the TV remote to get to the Saturday am cartoons we approve of (shhh....we left it on the correct channel...but they were so darned proud of themselves). Even put their own dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Got 'em trained! Not bad for 4 and 6.

Anyone hear Bears WR Brandon Marshall's claims that some football players take Viagra while on the field to "gain an edge"? lol Isn't that taking the saying "bringing the wood!" to a whole 'nother level?? haha

They're going on 4 months. Wish we had them on a "decent" schedule. Seems like the drop off after a feeding around 7pm, then wake back up after about 30 min and it takes another feeding and a few hours to get them back down. By that point, I'm ready to go to bed myself, if I haven't passed out already.

Wait a minute. You can ask for a racket but not a number. I wish i would have been there for that conversation.

"Can I have you phone number I would like to.."

    "What"

"Your number, you know the grip number, is it 4 1/4 4 3/8?"

Anyway next class dont take the racket. If she asks you say you forgot it, but giver her your number and tell her to call if she needs it back beofre next class. If she doesnt call dont take it to that class either. at the nexty class tell her you were hitting the night before and busted the strings. Ask her for her number and say you will restring tommorrow and give her a call to drop it off.

If she tells you to just bring it to the next class then you have to tell her your plan all along was to get her number so you could ask her out on a date.

it must be december because there is zap in the air. when his moonball hits your eye like a big pizza pie that's amore.

don't know why you didn't just ask her if she'd like to practice with you.

"hey (insert pretty girl's name). you're really (insert superflous compliment). i'd love to (insert my balls) with (in) you."

let me know how it goes.

what's for lunch people? who has tour bite or hexy fiber or some super spinny poly AND wants to string my three donnays? just raise your hand. anyone?
