never been.. but mussels in duck fat intrigues me. for my $$ on mussels, it's hard to beat granville moores on mondays between 5-7. $12 mussles (all day) + 1/2 price drinks. good times. let me know when you want to go there instead.

jrk when i was picking up my camping gear.. i got a lot of it at sunnysports.com (although they dont appear to be having good sales now.. they often have sales with unbeatable prices)
personally i like kelty brand for a nice compromise between price and quality.
my coromell 25F down bag and basecamp sleeping pad have been well worth the money.
    http://www.backcountry.com/kelty-co...5&origin=pla&gclid=CIfBpPXsn7UCFc2j4Aod9TEAgw
(^ great price for coromell down bag!!)

    http://www.sunnysports.com/Prod/KLTBCXL.html

kelty eden 4 tent ($125 on sale on amazon) has been good too!
    http://www.amazon.com/Kelty-Eden-4-...8&qid=1360091062&sr=8-2&keywords=kelty+eden+4

p.s. - these have been VERY handy to have ....
Kelty NoBendium II Gold Stakes (6)
    http://www.amazon.com/Kelty-Nobendium-II-Tent-Stakes/dp/B001M0NVH6

ok i think i've farted around on camping sites enough today.
also... check with Sappy every 20minutes.. he can find some great deals!!!

of course anything you might change your mind on or might break i would get from rei cuz they will allow you to return 10 year old fleece jackets when the zipper breaks (not that i did that )

p.s. - hey sap.. did you know i got sick after eating mussels at granville moore? no more discount mussels for me! :p

p.s.s. - who wants to hit tomorrow outside? i need to test these out to see which wins:

i recall that we all advised you not to consume the UNOPENED mussels... and your butthole prob agrees..

a lot of butthole issues when it comes to eating with me.. just ask monkey.. his prob shrivels up within 20 ft of a thai restaurant...

i have another friend whom i took to a super dooper bean mexican rest and dropped him off at the salt lake city airport immediately after for a 5hr flight back to this coast. i wasn't on the flight but i'm sure the rest of the passenger all felt it.

CB is still around. Sent him an email recently. He's dealing with a very sick family member so he hasn't had time to be on TW.

i asked for 2nd day air but you sent via standard USPS ground. i'm deducting my emotional and psychological loss from your sales and it happens to be 100% of your racquet's sales price.

downs, have you recovered from the beat-down last night? How was 'Red Bill', as we refer to him at our club? Did he behave himself?

That guy has the best hands at the net I've ever seen. His only downfall is he goes 100% balls-to-the-wall on every point. So, if you can land a bunch of body blows (e.g., lob him, make him get down low, etc.), he will tire late in a match. He is the most out of shape, fit looking person I know.

sorry everyone. Been pretty disconnected from the fun part of the internet lately. Wifey got diagnosed with a very rare form of an autoimmune disease called Guillain Barres Syndrome (GBS) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guillain-Barré_syndrome and has been in the hospital for the past 3 weeks.

She's showing signs of recovery so we're hoping to finish her recovery at National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH). Didn't realize enough how important the other half is until they are not there.

I read the past five pages of zap's adventure about the girl of his dreams? Did she appear in a shampoo commerical or something? And I didn't see that he has asked her out yet.

haha...i've seen him play a few times where he's gotten pretty "intense" and just straight up mean, to a few friends of mine haha, so he definitely has a reputation outside of your club -- but he was actually fine last night (borderline pleasant) -- but i agree, he's SUPER intense...and his partner (and him) NEVER missed anything...i knew my partner and i had to be really sharp, just to be competitive -- and we were not...i blame my week in montana...

but yeah, i mentioned the 4.5 team, and he seems excited about it...sounds like it's going to be a pretty solid squad!

sorry to hear about this CB...

thanks for the update. I did hear from topaz citings that she does have beautiful hair. zap, so what are you waiting for? At least you won't have any trouble trying to find folks to play tennis with. =)

Thanks Downs. Just need time for her to rehab. Hopefully she'll be up and running in no time. Can't believe how much more clingy kids are when their mom's aren't around.

we rented a large townhouse...private hot tub...game room...ridiculous kitchen...4 levels (which is annoying because your legs don't want to deal with stairs after a day on the mountain) -- with 7 people it ended up being about $60 to $70 per person, per night...which isn't terrible? i think we could've stuck a few more people in there comfortably too...but it was one of the best ski houses my friends and i have stayed in...

Yeah, I could tell stories about Bill for hours, both on & off the court. Most recently, we got into an argument about a line call I made. Mind you, this was recreational doubles, a fun league we play every Monday night (going on 20 years now).

The exchange went something like this:

    (Bill's partner serves a 2nd serve)
    me: out!
    Red Bill: WHAT!?!
me: Bill, the mark is right here (points to mark clearly out by 2 inches). Look at it.
Red Bill: I DON'T WANT TO LOOK AT THE F'N MARK!
me: Yeah, that's because you know it's out.
    Red Bill: F YOU! F'N A-HOLE!
me: BILL, SHUT THE F UP! I'M F'N TRIED OF YOU CONSTANTLY B!TCHING ABOUT G-DAMN LINE CALLS. JUST SHUT THE F UP AND PLAY TENNIS, A-HOLE!
    Red Bill: F-YOU!
Honestly, I think he got a huge boner right after that exchange...

The thing about Bill is he does nothing less than 100%. So, when he was drinking, he was 100% committed. When he stopped, he went 100% sober (AA), and went 100% religious.

I don't believe he takes steroids. He's never mentioned it to me, and he's not the kind of person to hide anything about himself (and believe me, he's told me more than I care to know). It's just his personality: all or nothing.

On a side note, I string his racquets (Microgel Radical). Going with the 'high strung' theme of Bill, wanna take guess as to his strings/tension?

Thanks for all camping links Dats and Sappy... not sure when I can go though with school and everything else. At least I can buy all the stuff and look at it in my living room.

CB - sorry to hear about your wife. A co-worker's mom came down with GBS as a result of getting the flu shot. Hope she feels better.

CB...I'm sorry to hear that, but glad she's on the mend!

McLovin and Downs, yup, I know who you're talking about! I'm kind glad I've never been on the same court as him...next to him was enough.

And yes, I DO have beautiful hair, thanks for noticing! :)

    Mclovin,

I don't know bill but I know his type. Bill needs a pill. I wouldn't care if he was a foot taller than me and can crash the paint like hw. If he talked like that to me I would of said, calm down...or 1) tennis is done for tonight or 2) well have issues.

Tennis down here can be a bit too intense as well. I've been in three confrontations. Jrk would be proud.

P.s. has Bolivian necktie clashed with bill the pill?

Bill knows better than to mess w/ the Bolivian Necktie :)

Seriously, we're all friends, and we know his mood swings & when to mess with him & when not to. We chatted a few days after the exchange and he was actually happy about it. Strange.

When the 'Bolivian Necktie Martini Story' happened, he was one of the other two who did not participate in the festivities. He gave Gary some crap about it the next day, but not too much crap because the year prior he (Bill) was the instigator in a similar situation.

Not that bad, but it's Kevlar/Gut at 60/64. Mind you that this is an 18x20 pattern in a mid-plus frame. It feels like a friggin' board.

that's probably worse...kevlar is way stiffer than poly...haha, but the guy can win...he goes all out, which i respect...

Weighed myself this morning.... 207! 9lbs off my nfl high of 216... but mainly just from not eating yesterday. Right now 199 seems possible but if i get hungry i can easily slap 5lbs on from 1 meal!

Sap, i went to my old overpriced sushi place, yamazato....holy kow it was amazing! I guess the teick might be to go on fridah nights. So good that if i was being executed by electrocution (which is probably higher probability than i think) i wohld ask for the my last meal to be same meal i had on friday! Salmon & "special d" roll were outta sight! It was really busy so i was worried the rolls were going to come out messy...but everything was done just right!

Going out to test pro tour vs pro open now. Sun feels nice but winds blow...hard...and cold. Hashtag movintoeffinflorida

P.s. played a doubles event. Partner and I won 2 matches and lost in the final in a third set 7-5. Almost went into a tiebreaker.

Sup: look I'm running on fumes, I can smell the bar from here, and I really don't want to go to duece again. I'm gunning it.
Partner: whatever you need to do, I'm backup. Lets try to get into a tiebreak.
    Sup: f#=% tiebreaks.
Partner: we playing the next tournament
Sup: we already played three times?

Big Ben and ray Lewis in the back row.

Figure Big Ben has a big serve and ray ray crashes the net with his racquet of destiny.
